Got the new record from my old classmate Tina Dickow. I went to a few of her concerts back in the day, something very rare for me. She had songs featured on some big American shows too, like Roswell (the old one, the real one) and Grey’s Anatomy and others. I used to be quite into her music and ran a youtube channel with her stuff. Then I sort of drifted away from it. But her new record is her first in Danish and I’m really liking it. One of the things she was often criticized for was being too shallow and polished, but I think the Danish lyrics really help her get more personal and intimate, and seems like the reviewers think so too. So that’s cool. Good stuff. She was a very kind person and good to me through some hard times.

If you’re not watching Barry then you’re making a grave mistake. I’m watching episode 2 of season 3 and I have tears in my eyes. It’s so funny. So dark. So funny.
With Jason Sudeikis and Ted Lasso and Bill Hader and Barry the ex-snl guys are killing it. Very, very VERY different shows. But both excellent.
So we’ve had music and tv, maybe next I’ll tell you about the movies.

Good goat times today. A pretty quiet day. Some nice sunshine, but a bit of cold wind and occasional cloud cover too. A few nice visitors at the fence. One man asked the kids he was with “do you know what those little round black things on the ground are? What do they look like?”. The kids thought they looked like raisins. But the guy then gave them the berry education, to their delight and horror.
Other than that not too much to report. No escapes, not too much headbutting. Ended the day sitting on the bench with Mia sitting down next to me, her head resting on my chest and shoulder,me listening to her snoring sounds. Good for the soul, if you have one.

The only slight bit of drama today was when Sky was sitting next to me on the platform and then Mia slowly walked over to her her and pushed her to her feet and off the platform. And Sky uncharacteristically stood up for herself and turned around and there was a brief headbutting match.

Good goat times today. I’m expecting a package that I really want to be home for so it was a fairly short trip today. A cool and cloudy day. No escapes, but only because I caught Sky tryiing to squeeze through the fence. Tsk tsk.Well can’t blame a goat for trying. And trying.

I was excited a couple of days ago when the forecast said that next week we’d get temperatures above 20C/70F. Now the forecast says temperatures around 13C/55F.. WHY CANT I HAVE NICE THINGS?!?

I am not sure if you can actually tell though, I tried brightening parts of it up. But they’re all there. Sky is in the dark with Mia, then it’s Milo, Sassy and Nuller, and behind Nuller in the dark is Lily. It was nice to see them all sitting together like that when I got there yesterday.

Good goat times today. A bit cooler and with more clouds than we’ve had reently. But some good sunny spells too.
I got some exercise chasing goats. I had Sky out of the pen for one of our specialtimes, but when I was trying to get her back in the pen Mia managed to slip out of the gate. Uh oh. Then while I was trying to get Mia back in Mmilo slipped out. Haha. So the three of them started attacking the newly growing greens on the trees outside the pen. Haha. I wish I could just take them out for walks again like in the old days. I gotta find a chance to ask about it.
Had some nice visitors too. One kid went ‘ewww it’s pooping”when Mia started ropping berries. Her adult asked what was wrong and the girl said “I was looking at its.. at its..” and the adult finished her sentence “at its butt? We all have butts”. Yes, the old classic. We all have butts and we all poop. Most of us just don’t do it in front of a crowd.

Mia still has her old trick. I felt bad dragging her back into the goat pen. But gotta laugh when she refuses to come and just sits herself down. It’s like trying to budger a cargo container from a freight ship. Or just the freight ship. And she’s no dummy. Normally she’ll come running if I even put my hand near the treat pocket. But when she knows I’m trying to get her to do something she doesn’t want to do then it doesn’t matter how many pasta wheels I hold in front of her face. She’s not falling for that.
Somehow I managed to get her back in the pen after a while.

Good goat times today. An eventful day. It started right away in the morning when I got there. A guy came over to the fence and said “you’re Lasse, right?”. I affirmed that and he introduced himself. He was Lars, who runs the playground. To be honest I am not entirely sure if we’ve already met or if he’s new or what. With my bad memory and blindness, we may have said hello before. But anyway, he just wanted to thank me for what I was doing with the goats. Basically telling me to keep up the good work. They appreciate that I come and hang with the goats and all I do and he was impressed with how big the facebook page is and by my bond with the goats. Apparently some of the staff get headbutted if they go in the pen. Haha, i’m not sure if that’s just by the bandit Milo or by everyone. The morning feeder guy doesn’t seem to have any problems with them, and I don’t think Ophelia, Anne or Alice have problems. But anyway, it was nice to hear that they appreciate what I’m doing.
He also wanted to ask me if I would be comfortable with more people starting to show up. I guess they’re getting ready to really open up the playground like the beforepandemic times again. I told him that was fine. As long as the goats are the focus I’m just fine helping out. But dumb as I were I did not ask ifit would be okay to start taking the goats out for walks in the area again. This would have been the perfect time to ask, since Alice asked me to stop because of the starting pandemic. But I’ll have to ask some other time.
But that was a nice way to start the day.
More stuff to talk about, but I need to grab a bite to eat so I’ll talk in pictures later.

We had a lot of visitors today. Several groups of kids came to see the goats. And they put on quite a show. Getting petted and fed. And also, pooping and butting heads. And humping. At one point Mia tried to mount Lily and a little girl went “The big goat wants to get on top of the little one!” haha yeah. And then later Milo was humping on Sky and one of the adult supervisors went “not in front of the children!”. Haha. Lots of fun. There was another “everyone has a butt” conversation too. They sure do.

She had a rough day, though. Lots of complaining from her. Disgruntled bleats. There was a lot of headbutting and chasing today and you know she often gets the short end of the stick. One particularly mortifying time Milo was trying to mount and then he farted just as he got up on her! Like his fart propelled him up on her. Sheesh. That was obscene. And pretty hilarious. But yeah she did a lot of talking today, most of it probably meaning ‘leave me alone!’. But I did my best to make sure she got the fair share of cuddles and treats at least.

Mia again entertaining the crowd. She’s so good at that. Being poked and prodded and kids screaming in alternate fear and delight, nothing phases her.
Oh and you may be wondering, did we have any escapes today? Yes, yes, we did. First off was shortly after the nice chat i had with Lars. Some kids had been at the fence after that and suddenly the gate swung open. I think a kid must have removed the stick I put in the lock. Well, luckily Mia was so surprised that she only took a few steps out of the gate. Before she started getting ideas of going to the greens I managed to shoo her back in. And then I got the other one in, I thinkit was Lily. That only left Milo out of the pen. I tried getting him back in once but failed. Luckily the little scaredy cat did not want to go down to the greens on his own. I was just leaning on the gate looking at him and considering my next move, and he was looking back up at me. And then the morning feeder guy came with a bucket full of some chow and when he went into the goat pen Milo, and everyone else, followed him to the goat house. So that solved that.
But that wasn’t all.
When it was time for me to leave Mia managed to push the gate open and got out. And this time she didn’t hesitate. And unlike Milo she’snot scared to go off on her own. So while I secured the gate she ran down to the greens. Instead of going for the trees like the last time she ran along the fence and to the left. So I was rushing after her, and there’s not a lot of room there next to the fence so it took me a bit to actually overtake her and get in front of her so I could start pushing her back. Thankfully at that point she was still in ‘on the move’ mode which meant I just had to guide her back towards the gate. It was only when we got back to the bench she went into ‘I’ma sit down because I don’t wanna go where you want me to go’ mode. But at that point it didn’t take too much effort to get her back through the gate. Haha. But yeah I got some more exercise chasing goats.
Quite the day. I think that’s all the anecdotes now though and I’m tired so I’m going t go to bed and not be budged.

Good exercise today. I’ve dropped about 10 pounds in 3ish weeks after getting more serious. Feels good man. But I wish I had iced creams. Seeing results helps the motivation. So I’ll try to keep it going for a bit.
