Good goat times today. I had a doctor’s checkup in the morning (ekg fine, results for blood and urine to come later). Debated with myself for ages whether I wanted to go to the goats afterwards. Doing TWO things in ONE Day is a lot for me, okay?! Well luckily I managed to convince myself to head on to the goats. It’s always worth it to see the goats. Bit of a cold day, but a lot of sunshine so that was quite good. I had some mushy maters with me, and I took Sky out of the pen to give her the chance to get some tomato time without worrying about the others. But she didn’t really like them much. Oh well! While I had her out of the pen a mother and a little girl came by. So they got some unexpected closeup time with the ‘goat kid’. Yeah, she’s pretty small. And it’s not polite to mention a lady’s age, so I let them believe she was a baby. Haha. Good times for all.

Guess what we did today! I taught Nuller to shake hoof. He did it really well too, better than Sassy. Now the big question is, is he going to retain the skill and keep doing it. He’s so focused on the treat, I’m not sure he’ll remember that he has to do something for it. He’ll probably go back to going straight for it and jump up on me if he doesn’t get it. But we’ll see. He did super good today.

Good goat times today. A bit on the chilly side, but a lot of sunshine made up for it. Especially love my time sitting on the pallets with Mia resting her head on me, snoring in the sun. So good.
I saw one of the barn cats, at least I assume it was one of them. It was heading away from the pen though and by the time I made it to the fence and meowed after it, it had one into the underbrush. Ah well.
Lots of visiting kids too. There were some laughing at goats pooping, but they didn’t sing hte poop anthem so I don’t think they were official poop troopers. Another group came to the fence while I was sitting on the bench. They called out “hey person in the goat pen can you tell the goats to come over to us” to which one of their adults said “I don’t think they’ll listen to him”. Oh ye of little faith. I went over to the fence and the goats followed me over and the humankids had some good time petting them. All in a day’s work.

Sweet, tired Mia. The kids loved her too. A couple of them asked her name and went “Mia’s my favourite!”. She’s so good with kids. Milo, on the other hand, was not their favourite. I heard one of them say that he headbutts them. Haha, yeah the bandit’s reputation is still in the gutter.

It’s still pretty incredible how a corrupt regime told their followers “something’s wrong” and then used “a lot of people think something’s wrong” as a reason to try and circumvent the rule of law.
Forking nuts. Btw, as far as I’m aware, the American ambassador to Denmark never apologised for claiming that her vote wasn’t counted even though it was. And I’m sure there are still some 40-50% of American who think the election was stolen because.. the guy who got caught with his hands down his pants by forking Borat says it was.

It’s hard to imagine that the people who were actually there saw the world much like we see it now, fluidly and in colour with sound. It’s weird how easy it is for the brain to think ‘no, the world was black and white then. Look at the film, it was clearly black and white and silent’. Fascinating.

A new thing at the playground. That wooden board across the opening of the goat house. They used to have a problem with hay being pushed out of the goat house and ending up everywhere. So i guess this is good for stopping that. But I must admit I don’t like it. It’s too tall. I wish they’d sawn it in half or something. Even though it’s not that tall, it’s still troublesome for the littles, especially when they’re in a hurry. And it’s positioned in a way that will make it hard for me to sit on the top of the stairs. Or take pictures of the goats sitting there. And I guarantee at some point sooner or later I’m going to trip over it. But oh well. At least it’ll help keep the place tidier. And hey, Mia looks cute sitting there still.

Good goat times today. A beauuutiful day. Upwards of 16C/60F and lots of sunshine. For Denmark that’s practically high summer. Perfect weather to hang around and do as little as possible with goats. Bit of headbutting (the goats, not me) going on. And some treats and tomatoes handed out (that one was me). Some of the usual slight maintennance of moving branches and pallets and platforms to make sure it’s at its best. Other than that, just sitting in the sun.
The greems are starting to grow too, hopefully I’ll be able to start bring a bouquet of fresh leaves in the morning again soon. I miss that.

Had the chance to have a little chat with Anne at the playground today. I can now confirm that we do in fact have a new barn cat. And furthermore, we have two! A boy called Heino and a girl called Nala. Nala is the smallest one, so I think that must have been her that I have met a couple of times. I’m not completely sure, though. Heck, I might have met them both without realising. Without seeing them both together I’m not sure I’d ever be able to know who’s who. But it’s nice knowing we have barn kitties. Hopefully we’ll get to see a lot of them.
