I want to sleep, but I don’t want to go to bed. I want to eat, but I’m not hungry. I want to jump off a cliff, but my wings are bruised and restrained. I want to fight with tooth and nail, but I want to give up. Feeling pulled apart by horses.
Well, in two hours it’s another month. Bye June. Halfway through the year, time to get up the christmas decorations. Put the Christ It’s Too Soon back in Christmas.

Good goat times today. I needed that. Things have cooled down, around 17C(62F. A good deal of sunshine, and a brief rainshower as well.
It was a big day for the goats. I guess the city council was trimming the local vegetation and cut down a willow tree. Jeanette went back and forth and back and forth and back and forth, lugging branches with lots of tasty leaves into the goat pen. We got some bigger branches too and we’ll see if we can make some use out of those, something for the goats to climb on probably. But for now they were just delighted to have so much willow to munch on. Yum yum. Jeanette took like 10 trips, and she got help from some of our visitors too. A couple of kids proudly walking along with the wheelbarrow and carrying branches, throwing them in the pen. The goats will be snacking on all that for days. Lovely to see them working on that, and then settling down to relax when their bellies were full.
Now it’s time to fill my belly with some soup0.

Happy Canada day to my Canadian friends, eh.
Actually, happy Canada Day to all my friends.
I was just looking on twitter seeing more horrible American scotus stuff, and i actually caught myself thinking “maybe I should stop caring about America” because it seems like there’s no hope. Now of course that’s a pretty callous line of thought, and it’s not like you can just pick and choose what you care about it, in most cases. And knowing so many wonderful American friends mean I can’t not care. Also the fact that America is so important to the world and how it functions, means you can’t just ignore it.
But anyway, for a second there I was ready to say “screw America, I’m going all in on Canada now!”
I ‘m just joshing, you know I love you Murica. Most of you. some of you.
And I love you Canada. And all other countries. I love everything, everything is great. Everything’s going to be fine. What, me warty?
Countries aren’t really important to me, I’m not very patriotic either. But people are important to me, you people. So, happy day, people.

Been feeling kind of poopy today. But I did get an hour and a half in on the bike, so that’s good. My legs were cramping all day. I guess I didn’t stretch enough yesterday, or maybe it was the lugging willow around that did it. My legs cramp a lot if I don’t stretch. I have tried extra hydration and magnesium and other stuff, but it doesn’t seem to do much good.
Been tired today too, almost dozing off on the bike. That thing when you catch yourself slipping slipping slipping.. kept doing that. But at least I didn’t fall off. And the weight was good afterwards, so that’s motivating.
But yeah, been kind of a tired and depressed and achy day. But tomorrow’s another day, hey oh hey oh.

On a sweeter note, aw Sky and Bella sitting together. The rivalry may be rising, but it’s good to see them bonding too. Bella sat down on the board first and the Sky came over to her. She’s been working on the willows and she got a willow branch stuck on her body so she ended up dragging it along, and sitting down with it, pretty funny. But sweet that she went and sat with Bella instead of on her own.

Good goat times today. Another cooler day, but we had a lot of sunshine which made it feel quite nice. And we had a busy day. Jeanette ‘warned’ me in the morning, there would be lots of visitors coming. Several groups of kids, from other playgrounds I think. Jeanette told me later on that I had been recognised. There was a group from our old playground, the Yogi ground. I don’t know if it was any people I had talked to, they didn’t come over to say hi. But they told Jeanette that they recognised me. So that was fun. Fame! Well, notoriety maybe.
But yes, lots of socializing today. Jeanette started the campfire going and I was left talking to a lot of the visitors. Luring goats over to the fence so they could have a closer look and pet them. Answering questions. Later on some of the kids came into the goat pen for upclose experiences. A couple of times we were asked if Sky pregnant. Nope, still not. One adult remarked “look, it’s making goat bonbons” to which a kid replied “Those are bonbons, they’re goat poop!”. Yup, a goat scholar indeed!
Lovely day with lots of happy visitors and goats on the best behaviour. I think the change that Jeanette made to only do the feeding over the fence and then no feeding when the kids come into the pen, that has made it all go a lot smoother. The goats behave a lot better when they’re not mugging for food.
Now who do I gotsta mug for some soup around here!?

A new book report.
I finished Carrie, that was a pretty quick read. It’s a great idea, but it did feel a bit.. oldfashioned. Some of the ‘found media’ at the end dragged a bit, I guess that stuff was more novel at the time. It’s a classic and a beginning. I think if King had written it today he would have gone on for a lot longer, for better and worse. I read The Institute last year in which he also dealt with telekinetic kids. That one went a lot longer.
After that I went on to my first dip into the works of Harlan Ellison. I have for a long time been meaning to read I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. Finally got to it. I was a little surprised that what I had was actually a short story collection. I think I knew that Mouth was a short stroy, but it was shorter than I had thought. After waiting for so long to get to it, it felt like it was over too quickly. I guess I had built it up a lot in my head. Just the title. I have always been fascinated by that title. In fact I first heard it back in the 90s when a computer game was released by that name, Ellison wrote on that one himself. It was a point’n’click adventure, a genre I have a deep love for. I never actually got to play the game back then, but from the first time I read it that title has stuck with me. It’s so evocative and brilliant. In fact it’s only a couple of days ago I think that I wrote on twitter “I have no mouth and I must eat soup”. I know, I’m very clever, I’m the Ellison of my generation. I’m also modest and good looking and have an almost fanatical devotion to the pope.
Aaanyway. Although I wish it had been longer, I did enjoy the story. In fact I enjoyed the whole collection, so I should probably read some more Ellison.
Now I have moved onwards to continue filling out the holes in early Stephen King works. Currently reading Rage, one of the Bachman books, and apparently somewhat controversial. I can see whay so far, with the school shooter motif. Although that kind of stuff can’t really be controversial anymore, right? It’s mainstream and accpted in America so. Again, happy 4th of July!
On the TV front I have started watching the new Star Wars show The Acolyte. The first episodes were a little mixed. I haven’t watched the one that just came out, but the one before that was really great, some of the light saber combat we’ve seen in Star Wars since.. well maybe the origianl movies. And Jason Mendoza is in it! I mean..Manny Jacinto. When I first saw him I couldn’t remember where I knew him from. It kind of blew my mind when I realised, it’s Jason from The Good Place! Oh boy. I love Jacinto, I love him in The Good Place and I love him in The Acolyte. He’s been really cool so far.
The main problem with The Acolyte is that it’s really grating on me how Star Wars has become cultural battleground. The Woke / Antiwoke war is raging and Star Wars fandom is more toxic than ever. The Acolyte has female, gay people, coloured people. I know, it’s an outrage! How dare they ! Disney ruined everything! I can accept giant space snails but black gay women who can use the force?! How unrealistic!
I could go on forever about some of the dumb coomplaints people have about the show, and Star Wars under Disney in genereal. But I’ll shut up now. I’m sad that this stuff is ruining some of my love for Star Wars. I miss the old days when it was just fun, instead of bigotry and stupidity. Disney has made mistakes, but the people who think George Lucas is infallible are whack. You can go all the way back to the first movie where you had twins in a romance and Vader being a lapdog to militiary personal, Kenobi talking sht some of which was planned to lies and some of which definitely wasn’t. From the very beginning Star Wars was full of plotholes and retcons and silly stuff. The franchise becoming inclusive and diverse is not making it worse.

Oh Luna. She’s such a sweetheart. She has started doing this new thing. When I’m sitting on the ground, which I like to do to be on goat level, she’ll walk over to me and stand next to me, but not just next to me. She’ll almost stand either on my legs or over my legs. It reminds me of how she will very often sit down right up against me. It’s like she just want to be near me, which is obviously a wonderful feeling.
When she stands like that with her body over my legs, I can just put my arms around her. And recently if I give her a little push down on the tush she’ll sit down in my lap. Usually when I have wanted lapgoat time iwth her I’d have to grab her and place her in my lap. But like this it’s like she just settles down in my lap on her own. She’s a doll.

Got an hour twenty on the bike today. Worn down legs. But great result on the scales afterwards. Getting close to the lowest weights I ever had in the time since I started noting it down in 2013. Down 30ish pounds since November now. So that’s pretty alright. Haven’t had a bad blood sugar measuring since I dropped bread. So that’s motivating, on a cold and depressed day. Keep on keeping a fish called Wanda.

Oh Lost.
I miss those beach scenes. Lost is my favourite show of all time, I love the whole run, even the ending. I love the craziness and the offtherailkness. But there was something special about that season 1. When it was so new and fresh, it was an ensemble cast, they were just castaways on a strange island. The mysteries were just little things building. What’s in the hatch, what’s the sound in the jungle, was Ethan not on the plane?! Later on it went nuts with time travel and alternate dimensions and all that craziness. There is a part of me that wishes the show could have stayed more like that, more grounded. The first season was simpler and magical. It was the most expensive pilot too, I don’t know if that record still stands. But it was just.. special. I don’t think any tv show, or anything else, will capture that feeling it gave me back then. It’s a different time now, a different world, a different me.
When I’m done with the Twin Peaks rewatch I think I’ll start a lost rewatch. It’s been too many years since I last watched it. I need to go back.

Good goat times today. Gorgeous day. High sun and upwards of 22C/71F. That’s a good summer’s day in Denmark. Lots of lounging around and relaxing. Goats panting from the heat. Breaks to drink water from the buckets. Spent some good time sitting on the grassy end of the mountain watching the goat graze too.
Quite a lovely day, nothinig too exciting happening, but we’re just enjoying the sun while we have it.
I din’t get quite enough sleep last night, so I was almost dozing off in the sunshine too. Rolling over on my side like a zonking goat. Maybe I should put up a hammock. And then take it down a minute later when a goat is tangled up in it.
Now I think I’ll treat myself to a little soup.

Got an hour twenty on the bike today. Legs felt good, sun was powering in. A good session. Now I’m going to grab a bite to eat, a plateful of tomato and cucumber, and then tonight it’s time for Denmark’s last group stage game in the ballsportsfoot. Against Serbia. Hard to know exactly where we stand, but we have a decent chance ot qualifying for the knockout round. Knockout those balls, guys!

The feetsballsports is over for tonight. Denmark drew for the third time in the group stage, 0-0 against Serbia. But that was enough to take second place in the group. after England. I know Americans will admire the sport even more. Three games, no wins, but we’re through! Haha.
Well, now we’re going to meet Germany. The hosts. And they are way better than us. We did okay against England but we’re not at Germany’s level, and they have home advantage. Hard to imagine we have a chance. I’ll refrain from going into a long ramble about that glorious day in 1992, the bset year, when we won the European Championship by beating.. Germany, in the final.
Hey, we live to fight another day. It was a real nailbiter today. See you Saturday, German friends!

Good goat times today. Bloody gorgeous day. Maybe teh warmest yet, up to 25C/77F. That’s hot for Denmark! Goats panting in the heat. Lots of lounging around. Grazing the nice grass, the earlier rains were good for something. Sweet visitors too. A couple of kindergarteners running around in the pen, petting and feeding the goats. Another kid lectured us about goat poop, as I don’t know! “That’s the goat’s butt, that’s where the poop comes out and then it gets turned into fertilizer”. Smart kid!
Later on it got so hot that me and the goat gang retired to the goat bedroom where it was nice and cool. Sat in there for a while. When it was time for me to go home I sat out in the doorway to do some back stretched before leaving. A young couple came over to the fence and said hi. They said they were hoping to see the goats, but maybe they were on vacation? No, I told them, they’re sitting right in there and pointed to the entrance. I told them they could come in and say hi to them if they wanted. So they came in for a quick look. The guy marveled at how big the kids had gotten, he told me he’d seen them when they firsrt arrived a year ago. Yeah, they sure have grown since then. The young couple thanked me and wished me a good day and were on their way. A beautiful day to be out and about.

Here is Sky and Bella ‘sharing’ breakfast. Not with Sky’s blessing. I have noticed lately that Bella has gotten more dominating. I used to be able to feed all three goats with two apples, one in each hand. Sky would be eating from one apple, Bella and Luna from the other. I can’t really do that anymore because Bella will chase away Luna, or more often Luna will simply withdraw by herself. Bella is too dominant. So I have to put in some extra effort to make sure Luna gets a good share.
And several times recently we have had this happen in the morning. When Bella finishes her breakfast bowl she’ll go to Sky’s and try to get at it. And Sky is of course not happy about that and some headbutting will ensue. Sky stands her ground, but she can’t really chase away Bella like she used to. Bella will persist, and they’ll end up more or less eating from the same bowl. That would never have happened a couple of months ago.
I wonder if we’re getting close to a point where Bella will overtake Sky and become the strongest and the leader of the herd. Or if they’ll remain more equal. I do feel a little bad for Sky, she’s been through so much. She used to have to run for her life and was always the lowest on the totem pole. At least she’s had a year as undisputed queen. I hope she’ll be able to stand her g ground against Bella.
It’s not like any of them are starving. We recently put a lock on the door to the storage room because wae think people may have been giving them food without permission. They only need a little bit of the grain and goat pill mix. Some say they don’t need that at all, but we’re following the vet’s orders on that. We just don’t want random people giving them extra.

Phew, it’s a hot one today. I have my fan going right at me from right next to me, usually I have it blowing against a wall in the other side of the apartment because I get too cold but I need it running to have background noise against the noisy building. But right now i need it to blow me. Oh yeah.
Here’s a picture of me and the goat gang hanging out in the goats’ bedroom where it was cooler than in the blasting sun. I tried so very hard to get a photo with all of us all in the frame. It was hard with Bella up against the right wall and Sky on the left under the hayholder. But hey, Sky still has her head on, I swear! Luna sitting at me feet, I love how she always wants to sit near me.

Good goat times today. Another gorgeous day, even hotter than yesterday. Up to 28C/82F. That’s scorching for Denmark! There was a nice breeze and some light cloud cover that made it more bearable. The goats were panting in the heat again. When it’s this hot then around noon they just need to get in the shade and sit and relax. I don’t mind at all Luna gave me a little scare when it was time for me to leave, I went down to the gate and handed out peanuts to distract and then I noticed Luna wasn’t there. So I went back in the pen and up to the goat house. Found her in there, she had just been too tired to get up. Those goats live a hard life! I gave her a peanut and she followed me out for a proper goodbye with the others.
But before that we had had a big day with lots of visitors. More than usual. Seems like there was a big outing for various kindergarten and daycare groups. Lots of people in the pen. Excited kid petting and feeding the goats. There was a little boy in a wheelchair. It was a fancy driving one. He came into the pen with the others and he really wanted to pet the goats. I think he had some muscular issues, not just walking, he was swaying his arms around kind of uncontrollably. Not sure the exact nature of his condition, but he drove the wheelchair into the pen and over grass and dirt just fine. But not surprisingly the goats were a little scared of the wheelchair. They didn’t run away in a panic, but they did back off with a “don’t come near us with that thing” look. I got a peanut out and lured Bella over to the wheelchair and hid it a bit from her so the had to dig in my hand to get at it. And while she did that the boy managed to touch her a little, he couldn’t really pet her, because of his lack of control of his arms too it seemed, but he got to touch a goat and his adult minders thank me. That was sweet. There was another kid in a stroller, they were watching the goats and the front end of the stroller was kind of up in the air and the wheel kept spinning and Bella and Luna were staring at it like it was hypnotizing them. They didn’t seem scared by that one, but of course it wasn’t a mechanical thing moving around unpredictably. Just that spinning wheel.. spinning.. spinning..
But yeah lots of people having a good time in the goat pen, very nice.
When I got home I took advantage of the heat to get an hour in on the bike. Phew. I am beat now. Tired like a goat at noon on a sunny day.

Can’t wait to wake up tomorrow and see the results of the great debate. Weekend at Bert vs Ernie’s. It really is staggering to see two sides fight over which candidate can almost string together a coherent sentence, and whether they’re on drugs or Mickey Ds to accomplish it.
Well, you know where I stand. And we all know nothing that happens in the debate will make a diference, but maybe the memes and rageposts will make up for it.
With these two old geezers and the whole lifetime scotus thing, I ccan’t help but wonder if the movie Logan’s Run didn’t have a good idea. Okay, 21 may be a little young. But how about politicians get expired at let’s say 50. Let young people govern the world they’re going to live in. Old people running it doesn’t seem to have worked out super great for us.
But what do I know, I’m just a simple Hyper-Chicken from a backwoods asteroid. BAWK. Sorry, I thought you was corn.

Germany huge favourites, i am not expecting anything, But you never know. Stranger balls have happened. Don’t mention 1992, I mentioned it once but I think I got away with it.

Welp. Denmark-Germany paused because there’s a thunderstorm over the stadium. Dark clouds indeed, Germany has been way better. But still 0-0. Hopefully the game can get going again. Ligtning and balls don’t mix.

Balls.
That was the end of the road for Denmark in the European ball tournament. Germany wins 2-0, deservedly so.
But man, it’s a bummer. After the big storm break, we started the second half by going ahead 1-0, we thought. Then VAR took away the goal. The video check. And then literally two minutes later VAR called a penalty for Germany that no one had seen. And from there it was pretty much over, we could have lost bigger. Germany just much better. Denmark is a tiny country, and it shows. When our key players aren’t performing then we can’t compete with the best. It’s been quite a while since we performed really well. I wouldn’t mind if we took the chance to get a new head coach.
But anyhoo, now you all can breathe a sigh of relief, no more ball posts from me! Good luck to Germany, the hosts. I’m going to root for Austria though, since their goalkeeper plays for the team I support in Denmark.
Now I need to get to bed soon, this took a lot longer than expected. Alas, Thor could not save us.

Well, my Facebook account got locked again.
This time I didn’t actually have to do anything to unlock it. I just had to click through. I guess because they have my ID from last time. It asked me to renew recent posts, and change my password. Recent posts and comments are all my own. I don’t know why fb thinks my account might have been compromised. I think maybe it’s because I switch into the goat page for doing admin stuff. Sometimes I get logged out after doing that. But I don’t know what to do about that, I have to switch into the page to post on it. They made the system that forces you to switch between your page account and your own personal account, you’d think they could recognise that’s what happening, it’s not someone else signing into your account.
Whatever. i’m worried some day I’ll lose access for good. But for now I guess I’m fine.
