Happy Birds Day

March 18th, 2012

Another year older and deeper in debt. Although only in the form of karma, I suppose.

My birthday was Thursday. 34. I know, I can’t hardly believe it either etc. Time flies when you’re doing the stuff I’m doing. Like a river it flows, where it goes nobody knows.

I had a really nice birthday. I went up to the playground and spent time with the goats. Five goats, that’s literally a handful. The new buck still doesn’t really seem to be taking charge of things. I did see him sniffing a little at the new girl, but other than that it was just mostly a whole lot of everyone chasing everyone around. I don’t know how we’re going to get any goat babies out of that, but it sure is fun for me to sit and watch. Time spent with goats is always time well spent.

Afterwards I went to the old house and had dinner with the parents. Mama made soup, and you know that makes me happy. Last soup of the winter season. A perfect present for my tummy. I still have enough leftovers in the fridge for one more dinnertime. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.

The company of goats and family and then friends on Facebook. That’s enough to make me happy. I’m a simple man with simple needs. To put it simply.

Beware the ides of me.

Buck Ahoyhoy

March 13th, 2012

I met a new friend at the playground.

Here is a little video: youtube.com/watch?v=4IJHHuRL3rk. A handsome young buck. I like his wide beard. The ladies didn’t seem too impressed, though. He’s got his work cut out for him. But I’m sure they’ll cook up some romance. And hopefully some sweet goat babies in the summertime. Usually we have the babies around this time actually, March-ish. I think it will be nice to have a bunch in the summer sun. Should be a lot of fun.

Other than that, as usual, nothing much going on. Got myself a sweet homemade birthday card from the Debster and husband and animals. Thank you all kindly! My birthday should be nice this year, with goats and soup. I am looking forward to it.

Meanwhile I think I’ll go back and read some more Dune. That should take me a year or two to finish.

Terribly thrilling this all is, I agree!
