Passing Goats

April 16th, 2010

Not much going on at ze moment. Passing time. Less than two weeks until the eye stuff starts up again.

What nicer way to pass time than with the goats?

You can do eet too.

youtube.com/watch?v=pl3PR-WeeRU. Video from Wednesday.

youtube.com/watch?v=uJTQXDuOxp8. And from today. I’m not sure how well you can see it at the beginning, but Magnethe’s girl is pushing her head against me. I don’t know where she picked up that little thing. I thought the boy would be the first one to get all pushy. But this time the girl was first. Oh they’re going to be trouble when they grow up. Big, fun trouble.

There’s a look at the sheepies too. Polka and black mama sheep. Along with her lamb, who is now too big to be called a lamb really. But they all seem to be doing fine.

And if you like videos of goats and other animals, I recommend Purty’s channel. She has been leaving me lots of comment on my youtube videos, which makes me happy. And now she has started uploading videos of her own from the petting zoo where she works. So check them out. I love people who are nuts about goats. I wonder why hmmm?!

The Plume With The Hat

April 13th, 2010

No goats for me today. I had to stay home to receive a package from UPS.

I ordered some $250+ worth of loot on ThinkGeek.com. If I still had my eyesight I probably would have spent twice as much money there. I love all that junk. I got myself various odd little things. Like a singing Gizmo pliush from Gremlins. And a 42 utility towel from Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. Most expensive was the official Indiana Jones fedora. Yes, I now have a proper Indy hat. Isn’t that something? It’s not actually quite as nice as I thought it would be. But I still love it. I know it could be considered slightly stupid to spend money on a hat you will never wear outside. But I don’t care. I feel cooler just for owning it.

Oh and I got a slanket. A blanket with sleeves! Genius. Of course it will be of no use to me until next winter. But then I will look so cool in my slanket, I guarantee. I can’t foresee anyone disagreeing with the above statement.

But no blog entry without goat tales. I did go to the playground yesterday, and had a jolly good time.

There was quite a bit of panic, though. I was looking at the baby chickens that Crazy Chicken Guy (his real name is Hasan) had brought in when a woman came over and said that one of the goat kids had escaped through the fence and was in with the horses and running around scared. So we all went to the goat fold and true enough, the poor little guy was running around with the horses baahing his heart out. And Magnethe was screaming bloody murder. But don’t take my word for it, you can see it all in this video: youtube.com/watch?v=8AAR29vLs1c. It’s Per who eventually reunited them and made everything okay again. Then he asked me to go into the stable so the goats would come in there too, and then we could let them out on the grounds and let them walk around there. At the end of the video you can see the little chickens as well.

It was a beautiful, sunny day. Almost summery in its very nature. Too sweet to speak its name.

And now I have Gizmo sitting on my desk. Everytime I sneeze or cough he starts singing. I better remember not to feed him after midnight. I should note that down somewhere.

Famous last words.
