The King Kong Defense

February 19th, 2009

Today was a pretty good day. Imagine that.

It started off with a new episode of Lost. Lost is the highlight of the week for me. That is no joke. I love that show. To the point of not wanting to kill myself because I have to know how it ends. That’s no joke either. So I should be safe for another year and half probably. Unless of course I go blind so I can’t watch it anymore. But let’s hope that doesn’t happen eh?

After watching Lost I went to the playground. That place also helps keep me alive, no doubt.

Twas a foggy christmas morn.

Apart from the christmas part.

The goat boys are still wonderful, I am happy to report. They were baahing a lot when I came. They wanted to come play with me, but Magnethe was in the way. She wanted some Plume-time too. And although they are two mighty, fierce goat boys, they aren’t quite big enough to take on Magnethe yet. So they were running back and forth behind her and looking at me and baahing. Eventually Magnethe wandered off to check on some other people who came to the fence of the fold. And the boys ran up to me and we had our funs.

finger-eating good.

I have also invented a new exercise system. It’s much better than pilates. What you do is, you put your leg out in the air and then you let goat boys jump up on it and you try to keep it up.

I’ll be ready to run marathons in no time.

To cap off the day I made chicken for dinner. A whole chicken. It’s been a while since I cooked a bigger production like that. It turned out really well. Tender and good. And of course I can’t eat a whole chicken by myself, not even close. So now I have leftovers for a while. I love leftovers. I have been known to cook food in advance and not eat it just so I could make leftovers from it. I’m not joking about that either.

So that was a nice day. Hopefully it makes up for tomorrow which is laser eye torture treatment day. I am already not looking forward to it. It’ll be fine though. No worries. The treatments should be done soon. And I have the cataracts examination in a couple of weeks. Although I don’t know how much good that’ll do me right now what with the diabetes blurriness. But in the long run I hope it’ll lead to improved sight. Yes. Any kind of sight at all. It’s gotten slightly better again the last couple of days I think. After being completely crap. So it still varies. And I’m still waiting for that day when I wake up and it’s back to normal. Please.

Before I go, a big thank you to Luis. He sent me some great postcards for my collection. Thanks mate! I appreciate it.

This Place Is Cake

February 17th, 2009

Yesterday was almost entirely a waste of time. I had a sleepattack. And I say sleepattack because that makes it sound like it wasn’t my own damn decision to go back to bed and sleep away the painz. But whatever. I did get up for a couple of hours during the night. And happened to see Katrine’s comment about the goatcam. And 20-30 minutes later I saw a live birth goat! Amazing. I have never seen that before. What a beautiful thing. Thank you Katrine!

Today I went and checked up on “my own” goat babies.

Hardly babies anymore though. Won’t be long before they’re clanking horns I bet.

A bit of snow on the ground. Looks lovely. But so cold. Very cold. I wish it would be summer already. Every time I write about not liking the cold I can’t help but imagine Hanne laughing at me. I always loved the winter and the snow but she just hated the cold. Now I sympathise. My butt was frozen when I came home today. Frozen solid.

I brought the water can to keep Magnethe calm. I didn’t have to use it though, she obviously still remembers it. She kept a respectful distance every time I so much as raised it a bit. No foul play from her.

Other than that there is not much new. My eyesight seems to have settled. Settled itself at the worst point yet. If it gets much worse than this then I’ll have to spend the rest of my life in bed. That’s all there is to it.

But we’ll jump off that bridge when we come to it.
