To see how the right eye was doing. Unfortunately the pressure hasn’t dropped. That surprised me a little. Because it’s been feeling better. No pain and rarely watering. I was expecting it to have gotten better. But oh well. We’re wait a while longer and see how it goes. As long as it’s not bothering me then it’s no problem. I’m not sure if they will want to laser it again if the pressure doesn’t drop. But for now there’s nothing new. We made an appointment in January. And they’ll look at my left eye then as well. It is about time to have the oil removed. That will be interesting. That is pretty much the last step. Once that is done and settled then I’ll be… done. Then we’ll see what condition my eyesight will be in. What I’ll have to live with. But for now it’s a break until January. Unless something unforeseen happens. Which it tends to. But maybe I’ll be lucky and not suffer any new surprises.

Yesterday I had quite a nice time. I managed to go to the playground, all on my own. My first time taking the bus on my own since my eyesight got really bad. It went very well. The cane helps a ton. It’s much easier when people can tell that you’re sight handicapped. And I don’t have to worry about them not understanding if I bump into them.

So now I have made it to all my three destination targets on my own. F?tex, parents and playground. It’s good to know I can get there. And I feel pretty confident with the cane. So that is very good indeed.

I had a swell time with the goats, of course. The buck wasn’t there anymore. Just the sisters and I. I guess his job is done. Let’s hope for some sweet goat babies next year. That will be quite delightful. And with my cane I sthould be able to come visit more often.

The goats don’t like the cane though. They don’t mind it as long as it’s lying on the bench, behind me. I had to stop them from nibbling on it even. But when it gets time for me to leave and I pick up the cane, then they get scared and run away from me. Both Magnethe and Vanilje. Then when they see I’m not charging at them with it, then they come slowly back. It’s happened both time I’ve been there with the cane. Maybe they’ll get used to it later on.

There were a bunch of human kids there yesterdayl. They came up to the fence, curious as to why I was sitting in there with the goats. They asked some questions. What the goats’ names were and such. It was nice to get to share some goat knowledge again. And then they seemed to have a scavenger hunt of sort. They were looking for “nisser”. I never know what to call nisser in English. Santa’s helpers or garden gnomes or elves or whataever. But you get the idea. All the kids were running around, yelling “nisser?! Niiisser?!”. And they came to the fence and asked if I had seen any. I had not. I thought maybe someone from the playground had dressed up as a nisse and was hiding, but it turned out to be some figures or pictures or something, that had been hidden around the premisses. Good fun though.

Meanwhile, I spent a lot of money on amazon. Isn’t it just typical that right when I get my own credit card and am finally able to buy stuff on the net, I lost my eyesight so there’s no point in buying all the books I wanted from amazon… But I have just ordered for aroun 300 dollars worth of DVDs now. That may sound like a lot. But it should be noted that I saved around 800 dollars in the process. I stumbled upon their “save up to 70% on DVD box sets” offer. So I have spent a lot of money, but I have made a gigantic saving. I am pleased with that. It all started because I was in the mood for watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer again. I looked for the complete collection on the DVD selling site I usually use. But they didn’t have it. They had individual seasons, at a rather high price. So I went to amazon. And found the complete collection costing at almost the same price as one season on the Danish site. I couldn’t resist that. And also ended up getting Angel, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, the Star Wars prequel trilogy, two seasons of 30 Rock and The Neverending Story. Merry christmas to me! Good thing I have lots of money in the bank. And to not be a completely selfish comsumer I am also intending to give some christmas presents for friends, through amazon as well. I made the offer on my facebook, and I’ll extend it here as well. If you have an amazon wishlist and you give me the link, then I will get you a present for christmas. You do not have to get me anything in return. I was hoping this year to finally make a proper homemade christmas card again. But with the way things have gone eyesightwise, I obviously will not be able to do that. And the half-homemade presents that I made a few of last year won’t be possible either. But I’d be happy to get you guys something through amazon, that I can manage. And it really does make me happy. With my current condition I have less use of my money (when I’m not doing crazy amaon supersaving purchases at least), so I’m happy to spend some of it on making people I know happy. It’s a good feeling, when you have the chance.

So if you have an amazon wishlist then leave me the link if you want a present. And you can always go to amazon.com and make a list if you don’t have one. It’s pretty easy, if I recall correctly.

Merry December!

Had a checkup at the hospital today. To see how the right eye was doing.
