Yesterday a mailman came round with a package. It was a new one. The mailman I mean, not the package. Hadn’t seen him before. When he had handed me the package he said “you don’t look like you’re over 65”. To which I could only reply that I was, in fact, not. “But you have one of those “please deliver mail straight to the door” stickers on your mailbox downstairs”. I pointed to my eye and he said “oh yes of course, sorry”. He probably thought I was just some lazy git who doesn’t want to pick up his mail downstairs. I thought it was borderline rude of him, to be honest. Since those stickers aren’t just for old people. They’re for people who have trouble walking and seeing and other disabilities too. I felt like he was almost accusing me a little. But he was nice enough when I pointed out my eye to him. So no worries.<\/p>\n
When I went to see the goats on Wednesday, I also happened to see Bodil. That was quite nice. It’s been a long time since I saw her last. I was actually thinking that I should ask Sigrid or one of the others if they knew how Bodil was doing. But now I got to see her myself. And her little dog Sif. They both seemed to be doing very well. She had brought an apple from her yard, and Hans was verrry interested in it. But as she said, she hadn’t had any breakfast so she was going to keep that for herself. Hans was not amused.<\/p>\n
I wonder if Bodil would recognise me with the filter glasses? I have decided not to wear them while I’m in the goat pen. I am worried that they’d get scratched or broken. Or eaten. So I take them off before going in. But I am still very happy with them. They definitely help when I’m out and about. I can see a little bit better when they block out the sunshine and general brightness of the world. So that’s really good. <\/p>\n
