Quick and painfree. Had the usual tests and photos taken. The doc looked at my eye. Said it looked peaceful and stable, so that’s about as much as I could hope for. It’s still a little up and down at times, but generally stable it seems. Hopefully all the problems are behind me now. A couple of checkups per year instead of constant trips to the hospital and pain and fear and all that. Things are a lot better now. I don’t miss all that trouble.

After the checkup I… can you guess what I did? That’s right, I went to the playground and spent time with the goats. I was greeted by Magnethe and her boys. They had escaped the pen. Sigrid told me she didn’t know how they got out, but they let them stay out. So I spent some nice time walking around and watching the little ones exploring the new surroundings. It’s always fun on their first trips out. Everything is new and exciting. They got a bit scared by a plying piece of cardboard, though. Or maybe it was plastic, I’m not sure. There was a mighty wind blowing as a storm was coming. You can hear that if you check out the video.

youtube.com/watch?v=Ba5ArPaAsjA. Very windy.

Snow White and her boys staid inside, they still seem quite tired and unsure of things. Almost a week old now, hopefully they will soon be up for exploring a bit.

The other day when I was sitting on the tree trunks with the goats, there was a girl there who was very interested in me. She kept asking me questions. She asked about my diabetes and eyesight. Her and another boy put up fingers and asked me how many fingers, to see how much I could see. She asked me how much money I got every month and when I told her the circa figure she said “wow”. Then she asked me what was in my bag. I told her I had my cane in my bag and she said “WHAT? How can it be in that little bag?”. I showed her how it folded so it could fit in the bag. With that folding cane and the money she said “You’re lucky!”. Hehe. Well I would trade the money and the cane for getting my eyesight back. But it’s always nice spending time with the kids, especially when I can help them with the goats. Most of them love the little goat babies and most of them are a little afraid of big Magnethe. So it helps when I’m there. Sometimes they ask me if I can hold Magnethe so she doesn’t come after them. I try my best, but it’s hard to get Magnethe to do anything she doesn’t want to do. Most of the time she is completely uninterested in human kids anyway. Chances of her chasing after anyone are very, very slim. Unless they have food of course. The kids aren’t afraid of Snow White, they clearly know that Snow White is very sweet and calm. Not that Magnethe isn’t sweet. But she does have that temper sometimes. I’m often asked why I’m not scared of her. But I can handle Magnethe, even when she’s grumpy. We’ve known each other for a long, long time now. We go way back.

And I’ll be back to see them all again tomorrow.

So on Friday I had a checkup at the eye doctor.
