Another quiet week. The weather has remained cold, mostly. Added gloves to my fleece and scarf and blouse and jacket. It lead to a surprising moment with Mia. She got afraid of me when I put them on. It was like she couldn’t understand that my hands were still a part of me. Backing off and swatting at them. Peculiar. I don’t think I’ve seen her like that before. A couple of peanuts helped the gloves ear her trust, though.<\/p>\n

Speaking of Mia and hands, this week I have been teaching her to shake paws. I know goats don’t have paws, but I think it sounds cute. She’s getting really good at it too. Again, with the help of peanuts. You can see it in the video below. She has me well trained! She clearly knows how to get peanuts out of me. I just can’t say no.<\/p>\n

Other than that, nothing really going on. I have a soup date next week. Yay! You know I love mama’s soup. That’ll be good. And the weather is spot on for it.<\/p>\n

Kamel’s eye. I was asked on Facebook if she had vision loss. I’d actually been thinking about that lately. Sometimes the way she acts could suggest her eyesight isn’t the best. But then, if I wave my hands over my head she’ll follow them pretty precisely and if she’s at the other end of the pen and I signal to her or just look at her sometimes, she’ll perk up like she knows she might get something. So if she does have some vision loss I don’t think it’s anything that severely hinders her. Lovely old gal.<\/p>\n

Mia usually ALWAYS sits facing the other direction on the bench. It must be Herman’s presence that got her to sit this way. Or maybe she liked having her front on the plastic bag with my cushion seat. That’s the seat Bodil gave me years ago. Helps when it’s wet and cold.<\/p>\n
