The blog is a little late. It’s been a big week. With happiness and sadnes.<\/p>\n

Mia had babies. A boy and a girl. On Wednesday. I got the news too late for me to get there, so Thursday was my first time seeing them. Two sweet little things. The girl all white, the boy white with a marking on one side of the face. Like a half Mia. And a spot on top.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately the little girl did not survive. I was told she’d been drinking fine the first day. But she didn’t manage to drink at all I think on Thursday. I had a very bad feeling about it. Bodil later told me that she had known too. I think there was something wrong internally. I don’t know. Apparently Alice took her home to try and bottlefeed her. But it wasn’t enough.<\/p>\n

It’s hard to write about. I only knew her for a day, but that’s enough of course. I held her in my arms to comfort her when she was bleating. I hoped it was for attention, because she would stop when Mia fussed over her or when I picked her up. But now I think it was because something was wrong.
\nIt’s just very sad. I’m glad Bodil came by. We had a long talk about life and death. She understands. I don’t think I could have had a talk like that with anyone else.<\/p>\n

Good thing there is still a lovely, little boy to take care of and love. Mia is focusing all her energy on him. And I am too, I guess. It’s hard not to smile at a silly little goat kid. Two days old he was already jumping around like a little goofball. Three days old he started chewing on hay. Dennis told Bodil that he had tried to jump up on Mia’s back to go for a ride too. He’s quickly learning the goat ways.<\/p>\n

Palle is a little annoyed with this turn of events I think. Standing outside, bleating loudly because he wasn’t allowed in. Curious about what was going on inside. And indignant over not being Mia’s number one priority all of a sudden. He even managed to break in while we were getting some hay for Mia. So he met the little new boy. And started pushing him around. So i had to hold him back. I think he’s gotten so used to butting heads with Bruce and Clark, who are challenging him a lot these days, so he wanted to put the little new one in its place right away. I’m sure they’ll get along better soon enough.<\/p>\n

But it’s been a long week. No more writing now. Let’s go to the photos. First one of me holding the baby girl. Mia Junior, I’ve been calling her. Since she never got a name.<\/p>\n
