I feel like I have been in a little bit of a negative spiral. Missing exercise, missing goat days, eating unhealthily, sleeping too much. Hopefully I’m pulling out of it now. Got a good exercise today. I could use some sunshine, too. It’s been dark and rainy. And stormy. When I arrived at the playground last Monday I found another fallen tree. Remember the huge tree that fell in the storm in 2013? This place is a dangerous place for trees in storms! Well, it was the tree with the hayholder. It was old and dead and rickety. I’m half surprised I didn’t pull it down myself sometimes when putting hay in the holder. Not surprised at all that it didn’t survive the storm. Too bad. I hope we can get the hayholder up somehow again, we need more than one place to put hay. Grandma Mio is not a happy sharer. You should see her chasing around poor Peanut all the time. (You will in next week’s videos). I think she has a bit of a grudge from before the snippening. When Peanut was challenging her a lot. Grandma does not forget. She’s definitely the boss now. She’s large and in charge. I’m pretty sure she’s pregnant too, but we’ll see.

Another thing that has made the week a little grim is that my mother is in the hospital. I don’t really want to spell out all the details here, but my dad came home and found her on the floor. She’s had an infection in her legs on/off for years and it went into her bloodstream wrecked havoc. She’s been in intensive care. But I just found out that she should be released from hospital in a couple of weeks. And she’s feeling better. So hopefully she’ll be recovering well now. It’s scary when it’s your parents and you can’t do anything.

It’s not been all bad this week. Something lovely has been happening. I’m going to copy my Facebook post here:

”
guess what I got in the mail?
Well, you should know. You sent it! Some of you at least, so far! I’ve been getting post cards. I love it! It’s like every day a little reminder that today is going to be a good day. And it’s been extremely welcome this week when things have been a little rough. It’s such a wonderful thing that people are thinking of me. And that you feel I’ve been worth doing this. I am really happy to have connected to such good people around the world. I have a sneaking suspicion that Katt Winter may have had something to do with this tornado of good wishes! Thank you, Katt. We may no longer be internet-married, but I’ll always be your Sawyer if you need one. Shirt stays on, though.
I hope I didn’t get any names and details wrong in the following, as you probably know my eyesight is extremely troubled so there’s always a danger. Feel free to correct me if I made any mistakes.
Thank you Carine Jamar. The scarf is lovely! It’s got my name on it! I’ll try it out when it gets freezing again, which probably won’t be long. And the goat soap. Would you believe it, I’ve never tried goat soap. You’d think that would be something I would have tried. But this will be my first.
Thank you Cindy Adams and the lovely Tyger! I was really surprised when I opened the card and it started singing! I was so surprised in fact that I closed the card immediately! Haha. Which made the first word sound almost like a goat bleating. My first thought was “It’s a bleating card!”. But then I opened it and it was a song and I smiled. True story! I’ll pass the other card along to the goats, and make sure they don’t eat it.
Thank you Cindy Porter. From the rocking Nashville. I’ll send your regards on to the goats as well!
Thank you Karen Kemp. The Alaskan mountain goat might just give Peanut a run for his jumping money!
Thank you Lisa Krolasik. I thought the card had a turkey on it, until I looked closer and it was a kitty’s tail not a turkey head! Speaking of bad eyesight!

Thank you CarolAnn Ellis. I remember that photo. Knock knock. Who’s there. Goats!
Thank you Christine Günther and S.M. . I loved that card, how it made the goat smile when I pulled the flap down. Lovely!
Thank you Nadia Rouis and Brésil! A lovely little kitty and lovely Normandy!
Thank you Pamela Smotherman. Those were some lovely big letters and Rudolphs, I’m guessing. Though of course I’ll pretend they were goats. Goats can have antlers! Thank you for the blessing!

Thank you everyone, every card is a blessing to count. And I’ll keep my eye on the mailbox and report back if any more should drop in. It has really been lovely, and at a much needed time. I don’t know what I did to deserve it, but I sure am glad. Every day is a good day, if you make it.
”
Lovely post cards, all telling me how “today will be a good day”. Which is what I post on Facebook every morning when I turn on the computer. Somehow people aren’t annoyed by it! Thinking positively is important. It’s not always easy, but I try to. So that’s good!

But that’s all for now. On with photos. First of the fallen tree.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks.
