\nGood goat times today. A goorgeous, sunny day. Over 20C\/68F. Which is high summer for Denmark. So good. I’m glad I had a drinking horn on my viking helmet, I’m not sure i would have made it without drinks. I didn’t get any breakfast today and maybe that was why I started feeling kinda dizzy in the heat on my way home. I made it, don’t worry!
\nSweet kids visiting at the fence too, asking questions and petting the goats. One boy asked if he could give a pasta to the goats. Then he got a little scared and sort of left it on the fence and pointed at it for Mia. His mom helped him get it done properly, and Mia enjoyed the treat. I can understand how Mia can seem intimidating when you’re a little kid. “The giant one” as she’s referred to occasionally. As Sky is ‘the baby’. And Milo is ‘the bandit’.
\nOther than that, too hot to do much but sit around. Mia gets so tired in the sun. Panting. I still think of her as my baby, but you know she’s getting to be an old goat. She’ll be turning 9 in a couple of months. She definitely takes more breaks these days. Especially when it’s sunny. We’ve been through a lot, I think we deserve a summer of just sitting around in the sun. Let the kids do all the running around.
\nWell, as soon as I bring out treats or go to my backpack, Mia still comes running like a kid. Not too old to get excited for food. I hear ya, Mia. I get excited when the pizza guy rings my doorbell too.

\nWent on a couple of bucket runs to make sure the goats had fresh water in the heat. I’m glad the outdoor faucet is working again.

\nHad a doctor’s appointment this morning as well. To go over the results from my last tests. Generally things are decent. My blood sugar is a little up. Not alarmingly, but something to work on. It’s not surprising, I’ve put on weight too, the depression hasn’t been good on my eating habits. But I’ll work on it.
\nThere was a cute kid at the doctor’s office. Like a little goat, running around being super curious about everything. Her mother was chasing her around going “no you can’t go in there. No you can’t touch that. No you can’t go in there. Hey look at this picture. No you can’t press that”. Haha. Seemed like a handful, but the mother, and everyone else, took it with a smile.

\nWell, my new double platform was not allowed to remain. I suppose it’s ok, they took the pavement tiles and laid out a little path. You can see it in the picture. The pallet was the foundation for the new second platform. Now instead there’s a little walkway next to Nuller’s rock. That place is one of the worst when it’s muddy, so this will be really good in fall and winter. The mud there was so bad. The timing is just a little wonky, since were going into the summer season and the mud won’t be a big problem for a while. But alright. I’ll miss the double platform. But the pallet is still there so there’s still something to stand and sit on. It’s not too bad.
\nFunnily enough Mia spent a lot of time sitting on the first platform today. I don’t think she’s sat there ever since we came back from the horse field. But maybe she likes it better with a pallet next to it. Or maybe it’s just because it’s cleaner now with the mud gone. She can sit on the platform and I can sit on the pallet. Pretty good.
