Yes, I managed to geto ut and get goating again. After two weeks away from them. I can’t remember the last time I was gone that long. I was worried they would have forgotten me!
Well, okay I was more worried whether I’d be able to make the walk. I was a little worried that I’d get out and be in so much pain that I would have to turn right around. But thankfully that didn’t happen. In fact it all went a whole lot better than I had expected.
There was pain, and I did take a break to sit down halfway there. But it wasn’t as bad as I had feared. The pain was fairly manageable all day. It was worst on the walk home. But all in all, I was able to cope with it. So that’s a relief. Now I’ll have to see how I feel later, and tomorrow. Hopefully it won’t be too bad. I’m feeling fairly optimistic about it. Let’s hope it continues to go in the right direction.
It was was a grey day with occasional rain shows. Sky darting under her podium to sit in her safe space. Bella and Luna in the goat house. Jeanette brought had brought more pine trees, so they got that to munch on. Other than that there was a lot of sitting around. Trying not to train myself. But it’s just so good to be in their company. And good to see Jeanette again too of course.
Good for the soul. And hopefully the body will hold up. And now it’s perfect soup weather, so I must comply with that.
Still not sure if I’ll need more medical attention, but this ws a good step.
28/9 2026
—
.
Such a relief to be back with the girls again!

28/9 2026
—
.
Sky in her little Sky Pad. Jeanette took some of the pavement tiles from up in the house and put them under the podium to lift it up, so she has a little more space. Now there’s room for some hay and look at the fancy pine roof. It’s like one o those shows where they take a home and then they give it a makeover, you know one of the million shows like that.

28/9 2026
—
.
I sure missed my Luna hugs.

28/9 2026
—
.
Bella is getting ready to nap to the sound of the falling rain.

28/9 2026
—
.
Hello good folks. It has been a bit up and down today.
Mostly feeling down. As sand through the hourglass, so swings the moods of my life.
I should probably workshop that line.
Anyway. Woke up with quite a bit of back pain. Probably not surprising after all the activity yesterday. I managed to get out of bed, but the depression has been strong today. I wasn’t up for long before I ended up sleeping in my chair again for hours.
I also feel like I’m bloating up again. I’ve been eating a lot, then I start questioning myself. Have I had a proper bowel movement the last couple of days? Is the pain I’m feeling coming from my back or my stomach? Paranoid of sliding back into the really really bad pains.
I don’t know. My stomach isn’t completely stopped, but I don’t feel confident that it’s working as it should.
I’m just so tired. Of pain and worry. Of being so depressed that I can barely make myself move around.
Tra la la. Well I’ll see how it proceeds ahead from here tambien.
On the upside, I got a postal package today. I was following it on the tracker, expecting it to “could not deliver” like that last one. But my trusty old mailman came through this time. I don’t know if there was some hiccup last time or if they have just now had the time to find out how to deliver to our building. But I was happy to receive the package. With all the current pains I’d really rather not have to go pick it up at the parcel store. So that was good. Postal package can get to me, food delivery can get to me, grocery delivery can get to me, parents can get to me. The only thing left in doubt is the letters. Since getting letters in the mail is almost a thing of the past, who knows when I will find out if that still works or not.
But I’m happy about the package. TLDR Lasse is happy about his package.
So. Trying to take it easy now. I am uncertain if I should go to the doctor with my back. I probably should and that’s probably what will end up happening. There has just been.. so much. Doctors ER worries pain poop nopoop deliveries parents stuff housing stuff. I am desperate to just bury my head in the sand and ignore reality. Being super avoidant always works out great, as we know.
One day a day.
29/9 2026
—
.
A little sneak peak at Sky under the podium. She has a little more space under there after Jeanette raised it up a little. Space enough to turn herself around in there!
29/9 2026
—
.
G’day mates. ‘owzit ‘anging? Alrightey then.
I am feeling somewhat better than yesterday. My stomach is definitely working. Maybe too much? I’m just glad it hasn’t shut down.
My back feels better than yesterday too. In fact earlier I was thinking it was feeling pretty good really. Until I had to be on my feet fo a few minute, then I could really feel it starting to tighten up. But still, better than yesterday.
So hey oh, let’s hope it’s an upwards trending situation.
Still feeling quite tired and depressed though, like all I want is to sleep. I had some weird and violent dreams last night, though. People getting shot in house invasions kind of thing. Fun fun.
One day a day. A pretty quiet one today.
30/9 2026
—
.
I went a bit out of my comfort zone today. Pretty far out. Downtown to Rådhus Caféen with my brother and parents.
I would like to wish my parents a happy 50th anniversary. They only got married later in life, but today is the 50th anniversary of them moving in together. I am 48½, so that tracks.
I kind of surprised them with the camera, so I’m sorry if they weren’t quite camera-ready. It’s my brother Peter on the left, next to my mother Anni and on the right it’s my dad Kaj.
Family lunch-dinner thing.
It was challenging for me. I was reminded that I have a very hard time in public company. Too many people in a too small space. There were two guys sitting at the table next to us and they were talking pretty loudly and one of them had this really loud, almost violent laugh. I was sitting there with my back pain and feeling my anxiety skyrocket. I really just wanted to get out of there.
Thankfully the two guys next to us were just finishing up and they had left before we got our food. That helped a lot, having some empty space next to us.
And when I calmed down it was a very nice time. I usually turn most oft hese kinds of things down, even when it’s just family. But i’m glad I went. Once my nerves settled it was really nice. And my family has helped me so much, especially recently. So it was nice to be there with them.
Happy anniversary, folks!

1/10 2026
—
.
Thank you everyone for all the sweet anniversaery wishes for my parents.
When we were eating my dad said that they were lucky to have two kids who had never gotten into any trouble, they’d never had to go to court to bail us out or anything.
Not yet, I humourously remarked. What a joker, I am!
1/10 2026
—
.
Well, yesterday was a happy family update. Today, not so much. My dad was taken to the hospital this morning. Apparently he fell in their bedroom, and they had a hard time getting him up. The details are a little fuzzy, but I guess the paramedics insisted on taking him to the hospital. Last I talked to mom she said that he was doing okay. So hopefully this is not something to worry too much about. But of course it’s hard not to worry. He’s got a bump on his head but other than that it sounds like he’s generally doing okay. Hopefully he will be allowed to go back home soon, maybe later today if we’re lucky.
It’s hard to watch your parents get older and frail. And the alzheimer’s, of course. A nightmare. Yesterday when we were ouy to eat we had to send a rescue party after him when he went to the bathroom. He went by himself, but I think we were all wondering if he would be able to find his way back okay. Eventually we sent out my brother to help him get back. He got back just fine, not sure if he actually needed the help. But it’s hard to see his decline. He’d ask me what I wanted to drink to the food, and then 30 seconds later he’d ask again. And then again. Sometimes his short-term memory is pretty much non existant.
But I hope he’ll get back home today and there’s no further ill effects of his fall. I’m glad he’s well taken care of.
2/10 2026
—
.
Hey everybuddies, a quick update. My dad should thankfully be on his way home now. All tests good, I think they just wanted to test him for concussion too. But they’re letting him go home, so hopefully it’s all good and fine.
Parents, eh? Nothing but troubles and worries for us kids!
I am thankful he is okay. He just needs to take it easy now.
2/10 2026
—
.
Ooh, season 2 of Scrubs reboot is on. I tell you what, I tell you. Spending time with an emotional and funny show about doctors sure beats spending all the at time around real doctors in real clinics and hospitals.
With all due respect to the real doctors. We do need you. I just don’t love you like I love Dr Cox. They better not kill him off. It would be so Scrubs to kill him off, though, wouldn’t it? Can you imagine how they’d tearjerker that one.
Where do you think we are?
Also, I was happy to see the dedication to Anthony Head on the latest Ted Lasso. I can understand why they saved the dedication for that episode.
In non TV news, how’s my sitch? I went to bed last night without taking painkillers for the first time since the troubles started. I thought I would see if I could manage that. It went okay during the night, but I did wake up hurting quite a bit. Do you think the body rebuilds better if it actually has to deal with the inflammation on its own, or is it better to painkill it away? I dont know.
Stomach seems to be working okay. The back is not too bad if I take painkillers and sit down a lot. But it’s still noticeably wore than before the blackout. one of the stretches/exercises I used to do before is the one where you’re laying on your back and your raise up your butt off the ground. I used to be able to do that without any pain. Now, I can’t do it without pain. If I put a lot of effort and time into it then I can sort of still do it, but I cannot do it without pain. I can lie on my stomach better than right after the blackout when the pains were worst. But I annot lie on my stomach without pain in my back.
I’m thinking at some point next week I’ll have to call the doctor and go in and get looked at. As it is right now, I can sort of live with it. With painkillers and enduring the pain there still is. But it shouldn’t be like that, right? You shouldn’t have to take painkillers every day to get the pain down to a level where you can endure it. You shouldn’t have to have pain at all.
I know there are some of you scoffing at that. A life without pain, wonder what that’s like!
I have had back pains for decades, but it has always been fairly manageable, mostly. Now it is constant and getting in the way of things. Taking painkillers on the daily probably isn’t great for the liver and kidneys of a diabetic either. So I suppose I have to go to the doctor at some point. Unless it magically fixes itself over the weeekend, and I’m sure you’ll join me in the realistic hope of that happening, oh yeah.
Today though I’m just thankful that my dad came right home from the hospital and his situation wasn’t worse. I would gladly live with daily back pain if it could give him more years without the things ailing him.
Good thing the four of us, parents brother and myself, live in a country with god heatlh care. We’re making the most of it.
There may be people scofing at that too, it’s not like Danish health care doesn’t have its issues.
I think they’re getting ready to give us free dental care soon, that would be nice.
Since I’m rambling and most people have hopefully tuned out by now, I think I’ll sneak in a little bit of politics. Skip to the end now.
I just saw the clip of Hegseth going “No fatties. No trannies. No beardos. No weirdos. No wimps. No radicals. Just warriors”. The fact that there’s a human being (allegedly) talking like that, a person in American government. Publically talking like that. It makes me so deeply sad. I don’t care what you think about the politics. If you think woke people are ruining your country. But is that how you want your politicians to talk? The inhumanity of it all. I would be so ashamed if anyone in power in Denmark said that. I’ve said it a bunch of times about Trump too, even if you agree with his politics. The fact that anyone could look at that man and think he’s a good person. A Christian person. An honest person. A decent person. I will never ever understand. There are other bad people on both sides. But ther are some that just scrape the bottom of the well. Wanting people who behave like that to run your world, I will never. Ever. Understand. Jesus must be rolling in his grave.
Or you know, in his comfy cloud bed or whatever.
And then they want ai companies to regulate themselves? Are you fkn nuts? I don’t know if ai is going to end humanity, but I know you can’t let ai cpmpanies self-regulate. You can’t let ANY humans self-regulate. You can trust humans even less than you can trust ai. And in fields where there’s profit to be made? The billionaires of today would gladly let ai decimate humanity, as long as they can make another billion or two.
just cut the military leaders and ask grok for the strategy.
“You’re right, bombing Connecticut was not a helpful strategy against ISIS, that one’s on me. Would you like me to suggest some other American targets that may be helpful to bomb?”
Why does the real world have to be so stupid and horrible? How did we get to here? Where do you think we are?
Okay, I’ll shut up. At least I’m feeling good enough to shtpost.
2/10 2026
—
.
Ello ello ello, what’s all this then.
Not much news today. My dad is home and doing fine. Mom says she thinks he didn’t really need to go to the hospital. But better safe than sorry, considering his condition. That’s what I say anyway. Just glad his fall wasn’t worse.
I’m doing… okay, I guess. Stomach is working. Back is hurting. I feel like I’m more tired. Having to go to bed earlier having to take more and longer naps. Maybe it’s the pain. Or whatever. I should be making an effort to get back to exercising, but I keep putting it off. Spending my time sleeping too much, eating too much, doing things that are more pleasurable, not exercising. It’s not smart. But hey I’m depressed and in pain. Excuses excuses.
We’ve had some fairly warm days, that’s nice. I think we’re about to head into colder times. T-shirt times are probably just about done. Can’t get Danish cucumber on the grocery site anymore. The seasons turn turn turn.
Hopefully I’ll get the results back from the MRI soon. They said two weeks, so that would be by Wednesday. Hope there will be something to work with.
Finding it hard to find any motivation or energy. Too bad this body is out of warranty.
Hope you’re all doing alright. Thank you for all the support you have given me, and my family, for so long. In my book YOU’RE the super intelligence.
3/10 2026
—
.
Okay, so Willem Dafoe is now my favourite actor.

Willem Dafoe on his favourite farm chore: "Mostly I like putting the animals to bed at night. So I got that going for me.
Had to force myself to get something done. There’s a lot of depression and pain, it’s hard to feel any motivation. I just want to bury myself. So, it was good to get on the bike. And I felt pretty strong. Who knows how I would have felt without the morning painkillers. But I felt pretty good. Strong arms and legs. I probably could have gone for a full normal session. Usually I try to go for an hour and half to fortyfive minutes. But I figured I better not push it too much yet. Good to get some physical action in. I’m trying.
4/10 2026
—
.
Well, it’s been a week. Another one. I supose the trajectory has been upwardsy. The really horrible pain is gone. Hard to say if the back pains are getting better or not. But with painkillers they are mostly manageable. And the anniversary with parents was very nice. Good also to get back to the goats finally.
So all in all I suppose it’s been a decent week. Considering the baseline it’s coming from is quite low.
You never know what’s around the corner. Three weeks ago I didn’t feel I was doing too great. Now I wish I could be doing as well as I was then. Who knows what’ll happen tomorrow, maybe I’ll be longing for what it’s like now. If you know what I mean.
I don’t know. It’s hard to be optimistic about the future.
I was planning to call thedoc about my back on Tuesday, but I’m thinking I may give it a little longer. Seeing if I can improve it with stretches. Adding some exercises. Anything to avoid..anything.
Not sleeping well either and sooner or later I probably have to try to get help for that. Trying lots of different things, but it’s probably something I have to face that I can’t fix on my own.
I am very tired. Physically and mentally. And it’s hard to feel like I’m worth fighting for. It’s so much more appealing to just give up.
