I thought computers were supposed to make our lives easier?

I have activated my Windows at least. I called the Microsoft Psychic Hotline twice last night. But the automated system wouldn’t accept my installation ID. So I had to wait and call them again today to get through to a real live psychic. He told me my fortune and activated my Windows and everything was fine. So then I want to move some stuff over from the old computer. Well, not move exactly. “Copy” is more accurate. Cause I don’t trust my new computer yet. But copy some files shouldn’t be a problem. Right? Wrong. Now the damn thing won’t recognise my USB devices. My external hard drive. My old MP3 player that I now use as a memory stick. My joystick. None of the damn things get installed when I ram them in the USB port. Jolly rogers. It worked the first time I installed Windows. It worked just fine. Why not now? Why must it make me pull out my hairs and jump up and down and curse like a sailor in a liquor store?! Why must there always be something wrong, something in the way?

Why oh waaahaai.

Hopefully I can figure out how to fix it. I need to be able to connect things via USB for chrissie’s sake.

Maybe I should just buy a new computer.

Or retire to Tamriel. I have gotten myself a nice house down by the Imperial waterfront. Virtual worlds are so much better than the real world. Do you know why? Because in a virtual world you can draw your steel longsword and hack stupid persons to death. In the real world you can’t do a thing to stupid people. In the real world stupid people start wars and let others die for them.

And in the virtual world I’m not afraid to talk to others, which is always a plus.

I am Plume’s sense of spinning plates.
