Yes, yours truly. Or a bush/car crash, rather. Don’t worry, I am ok. No one got hurt. But it did get the old heart pumping.

I am really bad at explaining things, so I made a highly technical diagram to illustrate what happened.

I might have overdramatized the explosion… But other than that it’s quite accurate. There are no traffic lights at that cross. The bus driver was supposed to hold back until the road was clear but for some reason he either didn’t see the car coming or he thought he could make the swing and get ahead of the car. It kinda seemed like both the bus and the car were accelerating as if to see who could get there first. And then BAM. They hit each other.

It wasn’t the biggest crash of all time. To be honest I wasn’t even sure there was contact, at first I thought maybe both bus and car had hit the brakes before they hit. My MP3 player had drowned out most of the noise. But then I looked out and I saw smoke inside the car. And when I got out I could see that the front of the car was pretty smashed. The door in the side of the bus had been banged in too.

Some pictures:

The car has been pushed back a little. You can see some of the debris on the road. And people getting out. We all had to get out of course. The next stop wasn’t too far away.

A little closer. That guy is blocking the view of the part of the car that was smashed. On that picture it almost looks like nothing has happened.

The bus moved a bit so the rest of the traffic could get by. Meanwhile the bus driver is collecting names and phone numbers for the insurance stuff. We all walked to the next stop, just 30 seconds away. Waiting for the next bus to come. But the crashed bus started up again, apparently they managed to kick the door back into place. So most of us got back on again. A few people didn’t want to, though. I guess that’s understandable. The next bus was due to arrive in a couple of minutes. I guess I could have waited for that, but I figured ah what’s the odds of the bus crashing twice. On second thought of course the driver could be stressed and he screwed up once already and who knows if some critical engine part had been bumped around and was about to explode. Probably would have been smarter to wait for the next one. But I got home okay, no more crashes.

How’s that for adventure? Some less dramatic things happened today as well. I was given books at TMU.

Digital photography and digital illustration. Those should be interesting to read. And when I’m done at TMU I get to take them home. So they’re sort of a gift. Peter the boss brought it up when I was talking to him yesterday. They have funds for materials and such. Paint and canvases and books and magazines and whatever. And he asked if I could use a book about digital photography. And he said “and when you stop here we probably don’t have any use for it anymore, so you can just take it home”. How about that? They are really nice at TMU, I can’t say enough good things about them. It’s a great place. I’m glad I was enrolled there.

Here is the “art room”:

It’s in the pavillion. A little building with two rooms. I often go there when I need a little alone time. I can sit down with my books there. That’s where I’m going to paint too. I like the painting on the wall. The face. It reminds me of Futurama. Roberto I think.

Meanwhile the Danish weather continues its erratic behaviour. A couple of days ago it was so hot that I could barely stand it. Today the wind was blowing up a storm and it was raining.

“Heellooo? We’re cold and it’s raining. Can we come in, please?”

I’m not sure if that girl wanted to go out or if she just wanted to keep a check up on the goats.

Oh yes, I was talking to Peter at TMU about the playground too. At some point we’re probably going to have a talk and see if I can somehow get to work more at the playground, maybe as flex job or retirement work. That would be friggin awesome it would. I would be very happy with that. My own little place with a cat or two and off to work with the goats. That would be a good, little existence.

Finito for today. Hope you are all safe, relatively.

.
Current music:Tina Dickow – Don’t Think Twice (070402)
.

Guess who was in a car crash today?
