Come on in. Sit down here by the fire. Let me tell you something. One of my favourite R.E.M. songs is called Walk Unafraid. And here are a few lines from that very song.

It makes me think, long ago
I was brought into this life a little lamb
A little lamb
Courageous, stumbling
Fearless was my middle name

Which of course links us neatly to…

The lambs. Yes. Here represented by Dotty. Although the lambs are not so little anymore. Especially the two boys. They have grown quite a bit. Running around like chubby balls of wool in the wind.

Mini is still small, though. I can still pick her up. And Dotty is sort of inbetween. She’s big, but she’s not as big and pushy as the boys.

There she is again. She was standing like that for aaages while I just stroked her back and scratched her. So cute. Now how did that picture get taken? With a timer delay? Nope. It was taken by…

That woman in red. She was there with her little girl, looking at the lambs. And then she came over to me and asked if she could take a picture of me and the lambs with my camera. That kinda suprised me. I’m not sure exactly why she would want to take a picture of me and the lambs. Maybe she could just tell that I would be happy to have a picture like that? Maybe. I am. If you can see past the bald spot that is my head then it’s quite nice. I have to stop smiling in pictures though, people will start thinking I’m happy or something. We can’t have that.

Dotty and the woman.

Back at the goats I met a familiar face. The crazy chicken guy. Hadn’t seen him for months. So that was nice. He came up to the fence carrying a chicken. “You want to look at the goats” he said to it and kissed it on the neck. And then he made chicken noises. I love people who are crazy about animals. Being crazy about an animal must be the nicest way to be crazy. I imagine. I wouldn’t know of course. Just because my idea of bliss is rubbing goat footsies for hours doesn’t mean I’m crazy. Nope. No siree Bob.

The crazy chicken guy went and picked some grass and plants for the goats. A couple of kids saw that and started bringing grass and plants too. Naturally the goats were thrilled with this. And while they ran along the fence and chased each other away and tried to get the best bits for themselves, the kids reached in to pet them.

And while the kids reached in, Vanilje reached out.

Nothing can reach quite as long as a goat that has gotten the scent of food. That picture reminds me of this old one of her mother. Sweet Mathilde. I hope she is still doing fine where she is now.

Today I fed the animals. Nothing out of the ordinary to report. Some sweet bunny babies.

Look, albino baby and mother. She had two albinos and one “regular”. Although when the mother is albino then I guess the albino babies are the regular ones.

When I left the piglets had settled down for a rest.

Sweet that they always lie close. You wouldn’t know that an hour earlier they had been squealing and shrieking at each other to get their food first. The one on the right has the biggest black spots. And I think she may even be a little bigger than the other. But it’s the one on the left who seems to be the bossiest one. She was really hogging the trough, chasing the other one away. Maybe I will call her Mads. I did try to “even the playing field” a little. I started scratching little “Mads” on the head and she stopped in her track and enjoyed it, and then the other piglet could get to the trough and dig in. So they both got their fair share.

And that’s about all. Hope the weekend is finding you in good spirits.

PS. http://youtube.com/watch?v=DHUU5X-cleM.
