With the smiley face. Isn’t it a cute litter? And isn’t the grey one just the cutest? I’m sure you’ll agree. They are practically newborn there, so I’m still finding it hard to visualize how it will look when it is older. Suddenly the google hits I’ve been getting for “can you tell how big a kitten will grow” make all the more sense.

I don’t even know if it’s a boy or a girl yet. Althought Desir?e speculates that it’s probably a boy, because it looks so much like the father. We’ll see. Desir?e is the wonderful woman who is giving me the kitten. Well, actually it’s her mother I guess. You might have seen the story in the comment section. Otherwise the short version is that tourists left a cat at their summer house. They adopted it and named it Aslan. And then Aslan brought home a pregnant lady cat. And the result is a sweet litter of kittens. One of which will be mine, all mine!

When I was a little kid I wanted so badly to have a pet. And to name it Frodo. People may scoff at that name and may think that it’s all poppy and because of the Lord of the Rings movies and so on and so forth. But my inner child is still begging for a pet named Frodo. And I will most likely comply. I also considered “Earl”. Because of Earl’s Grey, you know. It’s the grey one. I might incorporate that into a silly title, though. I like silly titles. Frodo, the Earl of Grey. Maybe. I also thought of Narnian alternatives, to honour Aslan. But it’s been so very, very long since I read those books.. so I’ll probably pick Frodo. I would however like comments or suggestions, if you have any. I still have some time to think it over.

But isn’t it awfully exciting? A kitten, can you believe it. An appartment and a kitten all of my own. I would have never thought…

Now it has gotten very late, so I will end the entry. Leaving some leftovers for tomorrow. And more kitten pictures in the future, if Desir?e is willing! I guarantee once I get my hand on that kitten it’s going to be the most photographed animal in the history of animals being photograbbed. You think I post too many goat pictures? You ain’t seen nothing yet.

I already have a photo album ready. There are a couple more pictures there of the kittens and parents. Pictures courtesy of Desiree and her mother.

PS. The twins still need to find an owner, so if you’re local and you need kittens then go see Desir?e.

Okay, I think it’s time for me to introduce my future new kitten.
