So, yesterday was supposed to have been the big laundry day. That did not quite come to pass. I overslept. On purpose, I guess. I’d been having some bad dreams and unrest and just didn’t feel up to the whole “get up and do stuff” thing. So when the alarm went off I said to myself: “nuts to this” and instead I slept some more. Oh well. Don’t judge me too harshly, I’m only a person. I still have plenty of clean clothes to last me a few more days.<\/p>\n

It wasn’t a completely unproductive day, though. I managed to finish the TMU website. Actually a little thing has crept up that I need to fix over the weekend. But my version of their site is now live and working and they seem to be happy with it. So that’s really good. I am pleased with it. When I first said yes to it I thought it was going to be a 10 minute job, copy\/paste text and that’s it. It ended up taking a lot longer and being quite a bit harder. Mainly due to the javascript menu and the jpg buttons. But I managed to edit the buttons and make a working non-java menu. It’s not the most elegant of codes, but it works. I should have been a webdesigner, I should. Actually that would be the perfect job for me. I love the intarweb, I love working with computers and I wouldn’t have to go out and feel miserable in the company of others. I wish I could be a webdesigner. But I’d probably have to learn java then. And what’s this fancy stylesheet thing I’m hearing about? No, the real problem is that I don’t have the creative spark when it comes to layouts. As you can see by my various online diaries, journals and websites. Pretty much all black text on white background. I am function over form to the extreme. I hate all those sites that use tons of unnecessary javascript and flash animation and fancy graphics. If it was up to me the entire internet would be black text on white background. Hence I’ll never be a webdesigner.<\/p>\n

My “goats in books” streak continues. After the thought-provoking Slave<\/a>, that I wholeheartedly recommend, I am now reading My Invented Country<\/a> and much to my joy there was a mention of a goat as well. A goat that was bought to be served at a birthday feast but ended up dying of old age. Awesome!<\/p>\n

(Okay, strictly speaking it’s not a streak because in between those books I read Per Vadmand’s Bag D?ren and it had no goats. But 2 outta 3 ain’t bad).<\/p>\n

The weather is very cold. Especially at night. The forecast said we’ll have frost soon. Maybe I’ll be able to build snowmen! I still haven’t turned on the heat in the appartment. Not once. There have been a couple of nights where I was sitting at the computer and literally freezing. But I just put on a sweater. I don’t know, I like the cold. And a sweater is cheaper. It’s funny, though. The first month in my appartment I had the two floor fans going round the clock, sometimes at night. Now they haven’t been turned on for the last month at all. I guess that’s good for the electricity bill.<\/p>\n

What I save on the heat and electricity I probably spend on the showers. Long, warm showers. <\/p>\n

Today Kurt came and dumped a bunch of apples on the bench that I was sitting on. Naturally I was immediately swarmed by goats. That was fun. The buck didn’t seem to know how to chew properly, though.<\/p>\n

Kurt had to break open the apple for him to even get started. It seemed like he was trying to suck the apple instead of bite it. Kurt and I had a good laugh about it. It looked rather silly. Eventually the buck got a nice big piece in his mouth and went on to grind and grind it into a swallowable gel. Looked almost like an old pensionist with no teeth, chewing with the gums. Funnily enough he has no problems cracking hazelnuts.<\/p>\n

Have I mentioned that I picked up Spirited Away on DVD for 30 kroners? 30 KRONERS! That’s insane. That’s like… two bottles of Coca Cola or something. If I recall correctly Spirited Away is the most wonderful animated movie and now I have it on DVD and that makes me happy. 30 kroners. What a bargain. <\/p>\n
