And today I watched the move, Blade Runner. There are some big differences between the book and the movie. Not just the title. One of the differences is the goat.

Yes, there’s a goat in the book. Deckard buys a goat. In the book real animals are very rare, many races extinct. And it’s considered your civic duty to care for a live animal. If you can’t afford a live animal then you get an electric one and pretend. Deckard has an electric sheep. But he buys a real goat. I liked that. The scene where he brings it home to his wife (who isn’t in the movie either). Unfortunately the goat is killed by the end of the book. Pushed off a rooftop by an android. Ain’t it just the way…

Blade Runner is not the only Harrison Ford movie I have watched lately. Also the Indiana Jones trilogy. I got the boxset for… my birthday? Or christmas? I forget. Anyhow, now that Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is out, I thought it was about time to rewatch the original trilogy. What a treat. I love Indy. I’m sure most “boys” my age do. He’s so iconic. Who wouldn’t want to be like Harrison Ford. Indiana Jones. Han Solo. The hero, but not in a Goody Two-shoes way. Too cool for words.

Other things I have been doing to distract myself? There’s my new computer. I have installed a couple of the latest games and they are running like a dream. Computah powah. Here are a couple of pictures from when I was setting the new computer up, before the bad thing happened.

It’s a little less messy by now. A little. My new computer on the right. With the Magnethe/Mads picture on the desktop. I love that picture. It’s one of my favourite pictures. They look so sweet together there. The desktop on my old computer is now this. So lots of goat sweetness on my desktops.

I went to the playground today. I forgot it’s a holiday, though. More or less. Grundlovsdag. So it was closed. But I still went in and spent some time with the goats of course. Chokolade was very into getting her head and neck scratched. They are such cute little girls. And by “little” I mean “giant”, of course. They grow so fast. Next time I will try to remember my camera so I can show you how big they have gotten.

The weather report: It’s frigging hot. I have mentioned that I feel less resistant to cold. On the other end of the spectrum, I feel I’m dealing better with heat. Even finding it lovely. I don’t know, maybe I’m not even a winter person anymore? I do still find snow extraordinarily beautiful. But if I could choose right now, I would choose summer. Don’t ever say that people can’t change…

I still find the heat a little troubling at night, though. When it gets really hot. But at least my feet aren’t freezing.

The European Championship is about to start. Soccer, suckers. Unfortunately Denmark ain’t in it. So it’s not going to be too exciting. A lot of the European teams are quite boring and play defensively. It’s all tactics. I like the Word Cup, when you get to see teams from Asia and Africa and North America. They’re usually more fun. Plus you rarely get to see them. I’d much rather see Argentina-Brazil or Jamaica-Honduras than Italy-France or Greece-Portugal. No offense, fellow Europeans.

And so on and so forth. Must find more distractions.

Keep a lid on things.

Yesterday I got done reading Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?.
