Yesterday I switched from insulin injections to pills. How did my blood sugar react? Well, the next time I measured it was 2.8. Two point frigging eight. That is by far the lowest it’s ever been. In fact it is too low. It’s not supposed to be under 4. So I had to grab something to eat right away.<\/p>\n
Maybe it was so low because I had been out for a walk. Quite possibly the first walk I have ever done just for the exercise. Not to go shopping. Not stopping at the library. Not going out because there was snow and I wanted to enjoy the prettiness. Just walking for the sake of it. I feel so very healthy and morally upright. Walking for exercise, whodathunk it was possible.<\/p>\n
Speaking of snow, the weather forecast says we might be getting some. It is almost winter now.<\/p>\n
My blood sugar after taking the pills today have been in the low 4s.. So that’s good. Looks to me like pills will be okay. That I won’t need the insulin injections. The doc will be calling tomorrow at 10 to hear how it’s going. They were thinking that one pill might not be enough and that we might have to up the dosage. But looks like that won’t be necessary. I must say that I’m happy with how it’s going. I thought it was going to be so very hard. But I’m still eating well, starting to feel good enough to go out and get a little exercise. And my blood sugar levels have been 1 digit since I came home. I don’t think it’s been higher than 7 in quite a while. I am coping. I honestly had my doubts whether I would. But hey, I guess I was selling myself short.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow is the playground christmas party. I must admit that I don’t feel much like going. It will be stresfull and there will be people. I feel like I have had enough stress and people lately. But I better go. I know it will be nice after all. I’ll make an effort. And skip desert. Hopefully Bodil will be there. I haven’t seen her in absolutely ages. Not since Mads died actually. So that’s a long time. It would be good to see her again. They’re all nice people at the playground, but she’s the one I feel most comfortable with. I hope I can get to sit next to her like I have the last two years. And that the night will go as well as those in general.<\/p>\n
