Falling Down

March 13th, 2016

It hasn’t been the best week. Specifically the last part. On Thursday I was happily running along with Palle, playing our little game. Where I run and he gets excited and starts running and skipping along. And I completely forgot how blind I am and that I can’t see stuff on the ground ahead of me. Like the trashcan holder thing. I tripped over it and fell down with my chest on the asphalt. And I heard and felt it immediately. The bone crunching sounds of broken ribs.

Or bruised or bent or whatever. It’s the third time I’ve had bruised ribs in a year or two. This is the worst, though. Right in the lungs. It feels like. The two previous times the real pain started the day after the incident. This time it was immediate. And excruciating. I somehow managed to get myself up and got the goats back in the pen. That wasn’t fun, I can tell you. And I couldn’t open the sliding doors. It just hurt too much. I couldn’t move them an inch. So this might impede my ability to visit the goats. I’m not sure how that will go. And my birthday is on Tuesday. I plan to spend it sitting completely still. Completely.

Well, things are getting a little better. Because painkillers. Luckily they are working well. Bringing down the pain from “worst ever” to around “same as last time”.

The only thing I can think of that has been a worse pain was when the pressure in my eyes was too high. That was a different kind of pain. And one that I couldn’t escape. This pain here at least mostly stops when I sit still. It’s sharper, though. I could barely get out of bed Friday morning. The pain was so sharp and overpowering when I tried to sit up.

But there you go. Nothing to do but wait now and it’ll get better. So it goes.

In other news. I spilled diet chocolate milk in my keyboard and it died. I still hope I can revive it. This new replacement one is annoying. It’s so thin, like a laptop keyboard. I can’t just go and get any old keyboard, I need specialised ones because of my eyesight. Apparently I can’t get the old model anymore. Annoying. But okay. Life goes on and I’m still lucky in many ways. Let’s not forget about that. And let’s not forget about the goats.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

The Popular Kids

March 6th, 2016

Another week down, and so am I. No, not really. But it’s been a little up and down. Had some coughs and tiredness, some slacking and lacking of motivation. I could have done better, I will do better. The journey will keep going.

Mia’s Facebook page is going well, though. You really can feel the difference when there are goat kids. Everyone loves goat kids. I’m getting lots of Likes and followers and views. Many of the videos are getting more than a 1,000 views. There’s a few that have more than 30,000 views. So that’s pretty fun. Lil old us. It’s always nice when people like what you do.

I managed to get Pong to climb on my back this week. It’s always fun when the kids start doing that. Fuzzy almost managed it too, he’ll get there. I’m not so sure about Ping. He’s still very timid. Although raisin treats are helping getting him to be more social. Good times.

Other than that there’s nothing new I think. Nothing of great interest or importance. Waiting for Spring to spring. According to the Danish calendar it’s Spring, but we’re not quite feeling it yet. Let’s hope we get there soon. Now let’s get to the goat photos.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.
