Goatstars On The Green Carpet

September 20th, 2015

It’s been a pretty fun week. Peanut is recovering well from his little surgery. After a few days separated from the others he’s now back and adjusting to the new lay of the land. No more big head butting matches with Mio, that’s for sure. Now he backs off pretty quickly. He’s just a sweet little Peanut now. I’m happy about that. No more stinky. Well, less stinky anyway.

On Tuesday our Scottish photographer friend came by again. She followed me and the goats around and took pictures. Many, many pictures. “I’ve never taken so many pictures before” she said. I hope she got some good shots that she can use in her project at the media and journalism school. She promised to send me some of them once she’s done editing and stuff. Looking forward to that. I felt a little like a rockstar when she followed us around. A fun experience. And once again she was just really sweet and positive. Nice to be around. At the end she had me pose on my own for some portraits. That was pretty odd. I don’t think I have a future as a model! But the goats on the other hand…

Yesterday we had a little jailbreak. Or, penbreak I guess. I let the goats out in the pen and did some stuff inside. When I went out to the pen Mia and the boys were outside it. Hmm. Turns out one of the boards in the fence had been knocked out and they’d jumped through the gap. Mio stayed in the pen, though. I’m not sure if it was the mud or her size that kept her from following the others. She barely wanted to come out when I took her out the gate to join the rest of the gang. I don’t know if the board had been knocked out by accident by the goats or if it’s some vandal kids or something. But of course the goats were quick to take advantage of it. No surprise there.

No, go go goats photos. With some of the photographer too. Emily is her name.

Bodil and Mia.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

Deez Nuts

September 13th, 2015

Another big week for the goats. This time it was Peanut’s turn in the spotlight. On Friday the vet came by and Peanut is now just Sweet Pea, with no nuts! Well, he’s still Peanut. Today is National Peanut Day by the way. I hope it doesn’t go to his head. But he deserves to be celebrated, along with his namesake which happens to be the favourite treat of the goats.

Everything seemed to go fine. It’s not fun to watch. But I’m glad it was done, finally. And now he can stay and be happy and make us happy. It will be interesting to see how it changes his behaviour. He was quite a wild and strong willed little guy. I’m sure he’ll still have a big ego (Wonder where he gets that from..) but maybe just a little mellower. And a little less stinky. Can’t say I’m sad about that. It’s all for the best.

And then on Saturday we had a surprise visitor. A Scottish photographer was biking past the playground I guess and heard the chickens. And saw the goats. And came in while I was talking to Bodil and watching Peanut recover. She asked if she could photograph us. So she went about her merry way taking photos of the goats and me and Katarina who was weekend feeding. And Bodil and Sif. It was quite fun. I got to practice my English. And talk about the goats. She seemed really nice and positive. And interested in us. Bodil and I were both really happy afterwards. It was a really nice experience. She’s studying at the Aarhus school of journalism I think it’s called. I think she was doing a project about animals. Not sure if we’ll be part of that or if she was just taking photos. But I’ve been talking to her on Facebook and she’s coming back to take more photos when I take the goats out of the pen. They were all in the pen on Saturday because I had to sit inside and take care of Peanut. He’s recovering well, but he was still tired and maybe feeling a little sorry for himself. He did just lose a couple of things that were important to him!

But that was fun. And we’ll see what happens. And now I’m incredibly tired and I really need to get to bed. So go go goat photos.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.
