Good goat times today. Not the standard routine today, though. I was getting ready to leave the house when my phone rang. It was Jeanette. My mind immediately went “no no no what happened who died”. But it was nothing like that, thankfully. She just wanted to give me a heads up that there was construction going on at the playground, they were putting in electric cables to the goat house. So I would not be able to take the goats out today.
But I went anyway. Spent the day inside with them, with the door mostly closed. Outside the sound of digging machines and people working. Sometimes one of them would come in and go into the storage room and do some drilling. Jeanette met me when I got there and helped me get safely to the goat house, avoiding the big ditch dug along the path. Hopefully the work won’t take too long. I hope it means we’ll get a light inside, that would be nice! Could have used that today haha. But it wasn’t too bad, I sat in the goats’ bedroom where there was a fair bit of light coming in through the two windows. The goats munching on breakfast, hay and the christmas tree. And the kids constantly begging for treats. They’ll both paw at me relentlessly. And sitting on the chair they got up on the tub that was next to me and then either Luna would jump up and stand on my legs completely or Bella would get up with her front paws on my legs. I’m gonna be sore tomorrow!
It’s nicer when you can actually go out and do stuff different places, but it’s always good to hang out with the goats.

Finished reading Patrick Stewart’s autobiography today. One of the instances wheing being forced to do audiobooks has an upside. Listening to Sir Patstew talk is a delight, even if his voice has gotten quite gruff with old age. But with autobiographies having the author narrate it really adds something extra. And he sings a little and reads Shakespeare!
I enjoyed very much hearing about his childhood, and his early ‘serious’ acting in the theater and Shakespeare and all that. And of course. Star Trek. The Next Generation was my first trek and a big part of my early life. Premiering on the fancy SECOND national tv channel. The music, the font. Hits right in the memberberries. So hearing about all that was great. But my favourite part of the book was the story of how he and his wife befriended a squirrel. I loved that so much. You ciould hear how excited and happy he is about that squirrel. And how with treats they managed to become close with this wild squirrel. When he said that they gave roasted peanuts in the shell to it. Well, that’s what I give the goats for treats! Naturally that touched my heart. It reminded me of one of my first goat friends, Mathilde. I have told the story several times about how she was scared of humans. And how with patience, and food, I managed to gain her trust and become close with her. And that one day when one of the workers told me ‘she doesn’t trust anyone like she trusts you’ and how it made me feel like that goat thing was a thing that maybe I was good at. I can just imagine fancy Sir Patrick, knight of the realm, and the wild squirrel coming in to get her treats from him.
We’re all just squirrels looking for a knight in shining spandex uniform.

I feel into a depressed nap and ended up sleeping most of the day. So that’s not great.
But what IS great is that now I’m up and ready to give the long awaited answers to yesterday’s big game show.
I feel like there may have been a bit of confusion, as smoe people seemed to pick statements from the list that they thought were true, but you were supposed to guess which one WASN’T true. Ten of them were true, one of them were not. I’m not sure if I didn’t make that clear enough. But it’s all fun and games. Thank you for participating to the ones that did.
And the first person to correctly guess the false item on the list was… drum roll… Jasper Zanzibar ! Congratulations, report to the principal’s office to collect your prize of a pack of dried fignewts!
The correct false answer was number 6, that I hadn’t watched all those movie franchises. Now even number 6 was partially true, since I haven’t watched any of the Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games, Toy Story, Mission Impossible or Marvel movies. But I HAVE watched some DC superhero movies (before they became a cinematic universe franchise though) and all of the Lord Of The Rings movies. So therefore that item was false. All the other items on the list were true. Including Number 2, which was the most popular guess. But, I am afraid I do like Chelsea Handler. Sorry! I put that on the list because I figured that could trick a lot of people, since I know many people hate Chelsea haha. And okay to be fair, maybe it would be more accurate to say that I USED to like Chelsea Handler. I watched her show Chelsea Lately back 10 years ago and… I liked it. I haven’t really kept up with her since then, other than when she went viral for stupid shirt. She can be pretty annoying and abrasive, so maybe it’s a stretch saying I like her. But if you weigh up the pros and cons I come out more pro Chelsea. Don’t hold it against me!
And I do eat soup at least 3 times a week. The key word being at least, so it can be more in some weeks! And I’m not realted to Lance Henriksen, but I wish I was. I don’t drink, smoke or do drugs. And I never have, apart from a little gbit of ‘fun’ alkyholic drinks, and two sips of beer on school graduation day.
But yes, the whole list was true other than the bit about not having watched The Lord Of The Rings, in fact I have all three of the special edition DVD boxes on my shelf here.

For those interested in item number 5 on the list, I’m afraid the article is no longer available online as the website changed ownerships over the years and went down long ago.
It was a long time ago, and I never posted or tol anyone about it. I don’t know if any of my friends ever saw it.

Good goat times today. A rainy day. So we stayed mostly inside. But at least we had the doors open today. The digging and cable laying all done. They’d cleaned fairly well after their work. Nice to have that behind us. We had the feathers out with us again today, which is always a treat. Even if they have to run for their lives now and then when Bella or Luna butt them away. Sky doesn’t mind them at all, but the kids will sometimes give them a shove. We had human visitors too, and thankfully none of those got shoved.
My stomach started feeling a bit poorly so I went home a little earlier than usual. By the time I got home it seemed to have settled. Oh well. I decided use the spare time to get on the exercise bike. Got a good hour in. Phew it’s tiring to exercise when you’ve already been out for hours. But it felt good. Afterwards got my best weight checkin since last April, so hopefully that’s going in the right direction. Hooves crossed. I’ve earned my soup now though.

Aw, Richard Lewis died? How sad. Rest in peace. He was great. Loved him so much on Curb Your Enthusiasm, him and Larry were wonderful together. And he was great back in the day on Craig Ferguson’s talkie show. That’s where I first got to know him really. He was one of those guests who had great chemistry with Craigh and you could just watch them banter about nothing and it was a delight. Always a highlight when eh was on.
And I just watched him on Curb like a week ago feuding with Larry over their wills.

Got on the bike and did an hour. I would have gone longer, but my MP3 player ran out of battery after 50 minutes and it kinda killed my mojo. But still good to get on it and get going and keeping it going.
Last night I dreamt I was in some public place, I forget which, with lots of people. And suddenly sirens and explosions went off and I was in the middle of a huge terrorist attack, or maybe it was a Russian invasion, who knows. I woke up with a loud ringing in my ear. The wrost tinnitus I can remember ever having. Usually when I get that tone loudly it dies down very quickly to a level I barely register, but last night it seemd to just keep going. I did fall back asleep and it seems to have disappeared again. Or at least died down to the baseline that I don’t notice. I usually have my space heater going (on cold) to drown out all the noise from the building and then I usually have music or podcasts or youtube videos going on top of that. When I go to sleep I put on a 10 hour rain video on youtube. So I rarely have complete silence.

Good goat times today. We’ve had a lot of rain, but it was mostly dry while I was out. Temps just above freezing. Not too bad. But I wouldn’t mind if Spring would get here soon.
I think there may have been some other heat going on. Sky was quite chatty, some big bleating sessions without any prompting. And Luna was going little grunts and wagging her tail a lot. Oh girls. Part of me wishes we could bring in a buck to visit so we could have goat babies. But it’s better we don’t breed them.
Last year Jeanette mentioned a couple of times that if things were going well we might consider bringing in a new baby sometime in the summer, I guess. Adopting one. I do miss having goat babies. I miss the little darlingboer babies. But I don’t miss the pain of having to say goodbye to them. Sigh.
But a good day today, lots of running around arnd bleating and treats and such.

By the way, I’m trying not to talk about poltics on here, not for your sake but for my own. I just feel like though that it’s hard not to comment on Trump basically encouraging Russia to ‘do whatever the hell they want’ in regards to nato. I’ve sometimes been asked by Americans why I care about American politics, basically insinuating I should mind my own business. Well, you know. I live in a country where people are now starting to actually ask if we should actually be preparing for actual war. Like seriously actually. Now i’m not walking around scared of an imminent invasion, I’m not stockpiling cans of baked beans and toilet paper for a World War III scenario. But it’s still really weird hearing someone running for President in America basically inviting Putin to fuck up Europe. In between the rape cases.
Yeah yeah. American politics are world politics, there’s no getting around that.
We got a tiny country like Denmark apparently sending our antire artillary to Ukraine, while America sends a hasbeen X talkshow host to orally pleasure Putin. Fucking bizarre.
We all know that there’s no reason to be a good samaritan for free. Do it as a loan. Jesus would be proud. Love thy neighbour, if he can afford you.

Good exercising time today. Made it an hour and a half on the bike. Wazzaaap. Sore legs and butt, but feels good. Keeping at it, best I can.
Yesterday I took two CBD capsules on the goat trip. Not sure if it made a difference. It’s hard to tell with all the factors. My back felt worse than last trip, but better than the one before that. I will try 3 capsules next time, and try taking them in the morning before I head out to give them more time to work. And we’ll see. Continuing the milder back stretches. At least I feel more functioning in general and slowly improving my shape. Better than if it was worse, am I right.

Sky on lookout duty. A dog walked by on the path outside the playground and it was barking a lot and of course the goats all huddled up and were looking with much concern in the direction of the barking. After the kids relaxed Sky stayed on high alert for a while. She’s always very sensitive to danger signals. I wish she didn’t worry so much.

In other news, I looked Sasha Mitchell up on the youtubes, and found a couple of fun videos. They’re like 10 years old, but that’s still what 20 years after he played Cody on Step By Step. His voice has gotten so deep! it’s crazy. Sounds like he’s been chain smoking for those 20 years. But the funny thing is that you can still see Cody mannerisms in him. His laugh, his dude. It’s like seeing an old Codeman. Weird and strangely endearing.
Speaking of Step By Step, I’m into season 7 in my rewatch, and it’s rough going. Season 6 was weird. Episodes airing out of order. It starts with Cody just being gone without an explanation and some weird French guy just being there in his place, no introduction. Now I love Bronson Pinot and I think back in the day I kinda liked Jean-Luc Rieupeyroux. But that was back before I knew what was going on and what had happened. Now with the knowledge it’s hard not to dislike the character. And then suddenly in the final episode of that season you get a ‘phone call’ from Cody saying he’s got a new job in Russia and then you get the introduction of Jean-Luc. Why would they air the season premiere as the season finale?! Weird. And there are other times when it’s clearly out of order, like when JT’s girlfriend Sam shows up in the end credits of an episode saying something like “ever since I started dating JT blabla” and then in the next episode she shows up and meets JT for the first time. And there’s one episode where Rich is trying to get with some girl even though by the point he had started dating Dana. What a mess. And then in season 7 it seems like Jean-Luc has disappeared, I guess he was only there for one season. If this season is airing out of order too maybe the final episode will have him saying goodbye.
I just miss Cody. Cody is awesome.
Step By Step really is a comfort show for me. That and Full House aired every day over and over year after year on the local Aarhus TV channel. Once they finished a runthrough they’d just start over from episode one. Over and over. And when a new season arrived then thatød air and go into the rotation over and over. It’s funny, back then in Denmark there wasn’t really a concept of ‘seasons’. In America it’s Season 1 Episode 3. In Denmark it’s just episode 3. And when you get into season 2, it’s not S2E1 it’s Episode 25 (Assuming 24 episodes in a season”. And in the tv listings and everywhere it would be put as Kaos I Familien (25;48). Yes, that was the Danish title. Chaos in the family. Full House was called Hænderne Fulde, hands full. Anyway, they’d list the episode number and then the total number of episodes and you’d only know a new season was beginning when the number of total episodes had gone up. Otherwise you wouldn’t know it was a season premiere or finale.
But as a troubled kid, those milquetoast family sitcoms were like a safe space. Once I got a tv in my own room I had family and friends there.
Sigh. Anyway, sorry about the ramble. I just wanted to distract myself from reality. And Step By Step has always been good for that. Dude.

Good goat times today. Managed to drag myself out. Not feeling great, but great to be with the goats. The usual jolly hijinx. Headbutting and running around. Bella tried headbutting Luna off my lap, just managed to knock her into me. Good thing she’s soft. Sweet visitors too, petting and feeding the goats.
Unfortunately I’ve been in pretty bad pain, my back really bad again. I tried taking 3 CBD capsules, but it did not seem to do any good. I’ll keep trying with them. Take them even earlier before going out. Combine them with the regular painkillers. More back stretches. Hopefully things will improve.

I dragged the bench back to the front of the pen, in front of the mountain. I just like having it closer to us, and hopefully we’ll start getting some sun soon so I can see if the sunshine will hit the bench here now. Bella was running along, trying to get ready to jump up on the bench everytime I’d dragged it a bit of the way. And when the bench was in place, she was ready for a treat as a thank you for her invaluable help.

Fun with the goats. If you listen carefully you can hear Luna grunting little grunts. This was the day when she was acting like she was in heat. She’s doing lots of jumping, it really seems like she realised that it amuses me and she’s just doing it more and more. I do a false running start and she’ll jump up to go, and then stop to wait for me to catch up. And I love when Sky comes running with us instead of standing on the hill and watching. Helps when the ground is a little drier.

For the premium subscribers, a preview of a future video. Once I had moved the bench back, I wanted to sit down and have some quiet goat time on there. Well, you know best laid plans and goats and all. For once it wasn’t Bella messing with the camera, maybe because it wasn’t on the tripod. I put it on the little spool thing. And twice Luna went after it, first time I managed to get to it in time, second time she knocked it off and it turned off, but thankfully it was ok.
