Spilled Milk
Today I rubbed my feet with the new creme that the foot therapist recommended. Marselisborgcreme. Fancy.
I happened to have the TV going when I did it. There was an old Little House On The Prairie rerun on. I think I loved that series when I was a kid. Today I probably wouldn’t stay to watch an episode if it wasn’t for… the goat! Yes, star of the episode was Fred the friendly goat. So naturally that tickled my fancy, but not my feet luckily. I thought it was a little unfair how Fred was portrayed as a troublemaker. We all know goats don’t get into mischeif and trouble! But it had a happy ending, so that was okay. And it was just nice to see a whole episode devoted to a goat.
Meanwhile here is a youtube video devoted to lambs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D056HoijoL8. It is a nice companion to yesterday’s blog entry. You will see girl lamb chewing my coat. And you will see the camera shake as boy lamb butts it. And then a little power struggle with my hand. And then lying down against me, with tired eyes in the cold wind.
And that is about all for now.

I saw the video and the baby lambs look adorable. And it was neat when one of them kept pushing against your hand as if “I’m in charge!” attitude. I also liked it when you tipped your hat to the Mother lamp.
There was something like that around here in the early 1970s. Where I lived, when I was a little boy, there were lots of fathers who were overseas fighting in Vietnam.
And when the fathers left for tour of duty they would tip their hats to their kids–just like what you did to the sheep in the video.
I remember a couple of fathers who never came back and had died in action. I had a friend in elementary school and his name was Billy. His father didn’t come back and his mother took him out of school and they moved back to Texas to be with her family.
So when I saw that on the video it really touched my heart. I think it was really cool of you, Plume.

LuisLemmings – Yup, that’s the little boy lamb. He’s gonna be a feisty one.
That was a sweet (and sad) story about the fathers. Thank you for sharing that.
