I Shall Not Goat Alone

Guess what?

Go on, guess!

I’ll give you a hint: Vanilje had babies.

Two beautiful little darlings. Welcome to the world, babies.

Kurt called me around 1 pm and told me about it. I’m really glad he did. Tomorrow is eye treatment and Wednesday is doctor visit. If he hadn’t called me then I might not have gone to the playground before Thursday. I would have missed their first days. But of course I had to run straight over and say hello to them. They are every bit as sweet and cute as you’d expect goat kids to be.

They looked very similar in the dark. Now that I have seen my pictures with flash I can see that one of them has a somewhat darker head. But they both look like their mum a lot.

And I spent a good time with them. When I got there they were lying down up close to eachother, seemingly sleeping. So I just sat tdown next to them and watched. Meanwhile Vanilje jumped outside. I think she was relieved that the babysitter had arrived and now she could take a little break and get some fresh air. She soon came back in and paid good attention to her babies.

They probably came last night. When staff found them this morning they were all cleaned up, so she’d had time to do that.

So a big hello to them. And goodbye to Tyr, the buck. Kurt brought him back home to him today. He has a couple of lady goats that need attention. And after that there are a couple of ladies at the ecological garden too. So no rest for Tyr, he has his work cut out for him.

More pictures to come of course. I’ll have to stop by the playground tomorrow after eye treatment. I know my vision will be horrible from the eyedrops and I’ll be tired and feel like going straight home. But I have no choice, do I now? I must enjoy them while they’re so tiny and precious.

My precious.

Oh, they are beautiful babies, Plume! They do look like Vanilje. What a nice surprise when I clicked on your blog.

My husband says: “Congratulations, Grandpa. May your grandbaby goats’ beard be as long as yours!”

They look absolutely adorable! And just think, you’ll have a whole tribe of goats following you around when you’re at the playground.

I hope they’ll let you name them. I mean, after all, Kurt did call you. So you are important to everyone there.

I’m sad to see Tyr leaving; I hope he’ll come back one day.

I think Tyr’s services are needed elsewhere, LuisLemmings! Duty calls!

  4. LuisLemmings Says:

Man, Tyr’s getting more action that me! (sad face with a glass of bourbon and water heading straight for the lips).

  5. Plume Says:

Debster – They’re wonderful aren’t they? May their beards be long and healthy.

LuisLemmings – Yes, I like the idea that when the babies came everyone must have been sitting around and talking about how I should be there. That’s such a nice feeling. I don’t know if I’ll get to name them, but I’ll try and think of suggestions anyway.
Tyr is a lucky stud, no doubt.
