The Optimum Light

Another sleep-attack. But this time more or less self-imposed. My theory was that if I slept the day away then I could get up early tomorrow and watch Lost before the eye treatment. I am not always the brightest. Also I was feeling a little sick. Head and stomach. Maybe I’m coming down with something. It is flu season in Denmark right now. But I’m not feeling that bad. Maybe it’s just my screwy sleepy patterns that are messing me up. Anyway, I’m up for a break now. And speaking of my eyes, I have gotten a huge floater in the right eye. Again. Maybe it’s the old one acting up. But it seems to be bigger than ever. Who knows, maybe I won’t be able to watch Lost after all. Haha. Hah. I hope it won’t interfere with the treatment. Maybe I should call in sick. I just had something to eat and I had to go to the bathroom fairly quickly afterwards. If I’m lucky it’ll be worse and I can call in sick and stay in bed and try to watch Lost and forget about everything else. Maybe I can. I am tired. Of everything.

If I do go to treatment then I hope I’ll feel up for visiting the goat boys afterwards. They are lifesavers. And to end on a brighter note here is another video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpBVlaZnysU. See them running and jumping and humping and having fun. You can also see Vanilje is getting a little rougher with them. There’s one scene where she pushes one of them away. She doesn’t do it all the time, but maybe she’s trying a little “tough love”. They seem to survive it. There’s also a man and his kid who comes to the fence to watch the goats. You can hear him say “look how they’re jumping all over that man”. In Danish, of course. And also there are special guest appearances by the lambs Sussi & Leo. You’ll get to see how big they have gotten. They were running around freely and came up to check on the goats a couple of times. Before running away baahing for their mommy.

Please pardon any typos in this entry, but I can’t be bothered to spell check since I can barely see a bloody thing.

I think someone switched little Sussi and Leo with great big lambies! My, my how they have grown up so fast.

It’s almost like Vanilje wanted to wean them when she pushed away the one that went to nurse.

We delivered some stained and varnished trim to a customer today. They just happen to live next to a couple with 58 miniature donkeys! I was unloading trim out of the back of the truck and felt like someone was watching me.

I looked over to where the donkeys were and I saw 4 pairs of ears and eyes looking at me. They were partially hidden by a little hill so that’s all I could see of them. Then they started running in circles and chasing each other in the snow after I spotted them.

We stopped in to talk to the people for a short while. The donkeys we saw we all weaned males and not too old. They were sure cute.

I told my husband: “No more donkeys! Snickers does not need a friend. She has three goats and us to chase!”

Hey, don’t skip your treatments if you’re not really ill-that’s not gonna help your eye sight! I totally sympathize on the floater in the eye, I got one on my right eye not so long ago, and thought I was going to go nuts. They really are annoying, but as my doc said; if you focus on them, you train your brain to be aware of it, but if you make an effort to ignore it, it will get filtered out from what you perceive. Don’t know if it applies to you, since there is so much going on with your eyes, but for me it works-if I pretend it’s not there, if blurs into the background (until I hope it’s gone and look for it-then it sure is there!).

Debster – They’re huge! And so cute. I love when they get to roam around freely. They’ll run away from mama for 5 minutes and then suddenly realize that mama is gone! Then they’ll baah their silly baah and sprint back to her. Lots of fun.
58 donkeys! Wow, that’d be a handful! Haha. I can hardly imagine.

Katrine – Don’t worry, I didn’t skip. No fun though. The floater is already a little better. It’s happened a couple of times before so at least it’s not a shock anymore. Just annoying. But it’ll fade I hope. Aye eye, captain.
