Blonde Ambitions

I managed to get out and go to the playground today. And I’m very glad that I did. Because I had an excellent time. And met both new and old friends.
Why don’t we start with one of each?

Bodil with her new dog Sif. What a lovely surprise to meet her today. You might remember that her old dog Lulu died. And she swore to never get a new one. But she could not resist Sif. And I don’t blame her. What a fun, little puppy.

She reminds me of Lulu in the sense that she’s not the prettiest or most poised dog. But she’s full of character and personality. And a lot of fun. Running around, chasing branches. I have some nice video of it which I will probably post tomorrow. I think you will like it. If you like puppies. And if you don’t like puppies then why don’t you just run off and join the Al Qaeda already.
It was just so nice to see Bodil again. Talk to her about the new dog, my sight, the goats. She is a good friend. She wanted me to take some pictures of her with Sif. So she could get some for the scrap book. I wish they had turned out a little better. Less sunned out. But I really just can’t see a thing, so how am I supposed know what I’m doing?
I brought the pictures of Vanilje’s boys to the playground today as well. Gave them to Alice. She looked them through and said “you’re so good at this”. Sweet of her. I can’t help being a little disappointed that I’m taking fewer and worse pictures. But what can you do. I once had ambitions to become a better photographer. But never really did anything about it. And now I have few ambitions left.
But this is supposed to be a positive entry. So let’s move on to some more new friends.

A bunch of cute piglets. Gertrude had her babies. They were pretty tired when I was there, so I didn’t get to see them run around full of energy. I’m sure they will be though.

And they are sweet. Gertrude is being a good mother. Per went in to take some pictures of the babies under the heater and she didn’t mind at all. She seemed pretty tired too. You’ll get a good pig yawn when I get the video uploaded.
I also had a good time with the goats, of couse. The sun was out and I had my fun playing with the boys and sitting in the hay with Magnethe.

Shouldn’t be too long before she has babies. Within a month I’d hope. That should be very nice. I hope it will make her a little less grumpy too. She was fine for the most time today. We were sitting in the sun and relaxing. But then suddenly she got up and started butting me. Crazy goat. I think she’s a little jealous that I spend so much time with Vanilje’s boys. Sometimes I’ll sit and play with them and then I’ll look over and she’s standing there watching me. But i do still make time for her too. So maybe it’s just the hormones. I hope she’ll be good when she has her babies. I know I’ll be wanting to spend a lot of time with them too.
So that was a good day at the playground. With my eyesight this bad going outside is getting less and less fun. But it is still worth it, I must keep that in mind.

It is not very fashionable, I’ll admit. But it’s quite a bit easier to actually see the keys. I never really liked black keyboards. In my youthen days computers had keyboards that were that greyish computer colour. That was back when it mattered what was on the inside. Then came the age when looks were more important than contents and computers had to be all stylish. Even before my eyesight went to hell I still often had problems seeing the keys on the black keyboard. Maybe because my computers were often placed in dark and dingy corners. But now I can see the keys again. How nice. Should make typing a little easier. I’m so used to using keyboards that I almost know all the keys by heart. But then sometimes I get my fingers placed incorrectly and instead of typing “plume” I’ll type “okynw”. Because o is next to p. And k is next to l. And so on and so forth. So I end up having to move my fingers a little to the left or right to get it working properly. It’s worst when typing passwords. Because you can’t see what yo’re typing on the screen. You only see those asterisks. Normally when writing something I can see if I have my fingers positioned incorrectly after typing one or two letters. And then I can move the fingers to the correct position. But when typing passwords I just type the whole word and then get a “incorrect password” message and have to start over. And then I’ll do that 3 or 4 times before I get it right. But now it should be a little easier.
That was terribly fascinating wasn’t it? I know, I know. I am here to amuse and enligten you.
Mission accomplished.

It’s nice to see Bodil again. And what a cute puppy! What kind is it? It’s adorable. Has she picked out a name yet or is she waiting for the puppy to pick its own name?
If I was Bodil, I’d like those pictures. She maybe doesn’t have anyone close by (but You!) to take pictures of her and the puppy. How nice of you!
Oh the piglets are soooo cute. I like their spots. We don’t see many spotted pigs around here. They are all white/pink or black and white mainly.
You can do the “ink blot” test with those piggies. Look at the piggy and tell me what you see!
Magnethe must be getting uncomfortable with her pregnancy. It probably is hormones.
Cool keyboard! Wherever did you get that? That looks quite helpful
Sunglasses! Do you have a pair of sunglasses? See if the eye doctor or vision people can help you out with them. Maybe the wrap-around kind that keeps the sun out of the sides of your eyes.
They have some, I think that can fit over your glasses. Just make sure they don’t scratch your lenses. Or maybe some clip-ons?? I’m sure the eye doctor could give you some advice.
I’m so glad you went to see the animals at the playground. You sound so much more positive and happy. And a Happy Plume is what we want!
Our boys and girl had plenty of out-of-the-pen time again today. We finished with the second coat of paint on the garage. It looks great.
We shall see if the landlord will let us take off the cost of the paint on our next rent. I’m pretty sure she will, especially since we’ll just throw in our labor for free. We didn’t get time to paint it last year since we got so busy with our “paying clients”.

Debster – I think it might be a pug? But I’m not sure. Her name is Sif though. Cute little thing.
I like the spotted piglets as well. Gertrude must have good genes.
I found the keyboard by googling. I figured there had to be some kind of keyboards for people with sight problems. And I was right. Found a webshop that offered them up. Nice and helpful.
Hmm, sunglasses. That would certainly help against the sunshine. I’m not sure I could wear sunglasses though. It seems like such a hip and celeb thing to do. Hah. I don’t know. Also my nightvision has gotten very bad as well, I don’t know if sunglasses would make things darker and thus worse. hmm. But it’s something to think about. I imagine that sight center place will be able to give advice about things like that..
