Better Off Ted

(google cache)

Another day, another eye exam. I have lost count of how many times I’ve been told to look straight ahead at the light.

The doctor didn’t say too much. He will contact the eye ward at the hospital and get them to call me in for a closer look. “As soon as possible”. So we’ll see when that will be. Maybe next week. Then it will interfere with the acupuncture. But the sooner the better, so we’ll just have to deal with that. The doc said he could see the diabetes changes and there was still swelling. Didn’t mention anything about AMD. But it’s bad enough that he wants the hospital docs to look at it as soon as possible. So who knows. I will go with the flow and we will see where it goes.

Aren’t swellings supposed to go down? I think my lenses have been swollen ever since this whole thing started. Maybe some day I will wake up and they will have gone down and everything will be normal and good. Maybe. May be. Every morning when I wake up I look around, I can’t help but cling on to the silly hope that my sight will have healed itself overnight and suddenly everything will be clear again. Every morning.

I am tired and my head hurts. It’s been hurting a lot lately. Probaly because I have to constantly strain my eyes to read anything. Or possibly because of that imaginary brain tumor. You never know.

Also today I watched the Scrubs finale. It was a sweet ending. Eight years. How about that. I always get sad when a long running series that I have gotten attached to ends. Funnily enough. With TV being such a big part of my life it really does feel like you’re being separated from a bunch of friends. I have known them for eight years, that’s longer than I have known myself. I think. I can’t remember what I was like eight years ago. Everything was very, very different. That’s for sure.

Now please, let’s have a Ted spinoff. I’m glad he got together with Gooch. Yat for the dorky, socially inept losers. We need some succes stories.

Oh Ted, poor Ted.

I could just spend hours looking at Scrubs moments on Youtube. Like my favourite one: You owe Ted money. I don’t know what it is, but that just cracks me up constantly.

Yeah, yeah.

Hope the hospital doc can tell you a bit more about what to expect, all this uncertanity must be driving you nuts. Hopefully the swelling will go down soon. How is your blood sugar levels, have they stabilised?

Katrine – Nuts like a squirrel. The sugar levels are in check. The acupuncturist said that the acupuncture might cause some effects, but I haven’t observed any of that.

Yes, from what I’ve read about your condition and the laser treatments when the swelling goes down, your vision improves.

Note to Plume’s eyes: let’s get with the program and get rid of the swelling so Plume can see better!
