I did some constructive work today. I cleaned up my storage room in the basement. Remember it was broken into before my surgery? I figured that if I wanted to clean it up myself then I’d better get it done before all my sight is lost.

It was hard enough already. Only a dim light in the basement, no light in the storage room itself. But it’s only a tiny room, so I got it done okay. Filled up 4-5 plastic bags with my stuff on the floor. And put all the empty boxes back in a neat formation. That was really what I used the storage room for mainly. Empty boxes from when I moved. And my bike. Which had not been toched. I do hope the people who broke in were really annoyed at all the junk they wasted their time on. Funniest thing? I actually found a 100 kroner bill in my stuff. Cash. It tickles my funny bone to think of those idiots going through my junk and missing the cash. Hah. I’m not sure why I had a 100 kroners there though. It’s not a fortune or anything. But still. Maybe I put it there by mistake. Or maybe it was a clever ploy to surprise my future self with money. Or maybe the burglars dropped it. I don’t think so. But still funny.

I brought the plastic bags upstairs and sorted the stuff in the brighter lights of my apartment. About half of it was stuff I wanted to throw out. The rest was just mostly crap from my childhood. Memories. Of no value to burglars. I have repackaged it all in two plastic bags. I’ll probably keep them in my apartment. If someone should break into the storage room again then I don’t want to have to clean up a mess again. Up here they are safer. Hopefully. I did consider throwing it all out. what is the point of keeping old letters and school papers and junk that you can’t read or see? But who knows, maybe I will be able to see again some day. And then they will be nice to have and look back on. There is some great stuff. Like my old gym bag. A cloth bag with some kind of bembroidery of Slimer from Ghost Busters. I must have made that in 1st grade or something. And used it for gym clothes. Wicked. I also found the old Smashing Pumpkins T-shirt that Ske gave me. If I remember correctly I think she gave it to me because it was way too big for her. But it turned out to be too small for me. I was a big guy. Well, guess what? I tried it on today, and it fit. How nice. I guess I am smaller than I was back then. Don’t get me wrong, I am still too big a guy. But at least now I can fit the shirt. It’s red and black, I’m not sure it is “adult” enough to be worn outside by a responsible adult like I am. But I can w ear it inside. And if I ever get to go to a concert again.

I am just glad I got the mess cleaned up. I am not completely helpless yet.

In other news, the temperatures have fallen today. From high 20s to low 20s. Much more comfortable. It has even rained for a while. I don’t mind at all.

Other than that I am just counting the days to the next surgery. Ten or thereabouts I think.
