Epic Fail 2
Oh man. I have spent all day working on my site. Literally. First hours trying to get it to work. And then the rest of the day going through Google’s cache, looking for lost entries.
If you missed the last (proper) entry, then the situation is this: my webhost lost both primary and backup hard drives. It’s taken some 5-6 days to get my site online and working. For a while I was worried if I would even be able to get my blog working at all. But it seems to be working now (let me know if there are any odd things going on). I lost all entries from March to August. Some 100 or so. After hours on Google I have managed to recover a lot of them. But not all. I have lost around 25 entries. Andthere are everal others where the comments are gone. But what can you do. I guess I should just be glad that I could save some of it. No reason to cry over spilled milk. Life goes on. I have bigger things to worry about.
My back is aching, my eyes are sore and I am tired. Quite tired. I hope nothing like this ever happens again.
Better go make a backup…

Dear Plump’ster, great you got the site back online , and continued success with the lost + found operation.

I’m glad to see you are up and running again. Did you get my second e-mails? Yahoo has blocked any e-mails coming from my stupid e-mail account. Not just mine in particular, but everyone using that e-mail service.
Your parents must be so upset with your surgeries and then your brother’s cough. I think you’re right about it being a warning for him to stop smoking. Has he tried to stop before? Maybe this time it will work for him.

Even though I don’t comment, I do visit the site everyday and read the latest. I’m glad you’re back!

Hay, hay LuisLemmings! How are you doing?

Ann T. Krist – I am glad to be back. I don’t think there’s any hope of finding the missing 25 entries though. But what can you do. At least I haven’t lost my mind.
Debster – I think I got all your emails. 4 in total, right? The missing ones turned up, just delayed it seems.
Yes, these must be hard times for my parents. They have been a great support though.
I don’t know if my brother has ever tried to quit smoking. And I don’t think he’s planning to do it now either. Unfortunately I think he will keep smoking unless the doctor outright orders him to stop. Even then it’s a quetion of whether he wants to and is able to of course. But I hope he’ll listen to reason.
Katrine – Glad to be back, in good company too!
LuisLemmings – Glad you’re still around matey. Hope you’re doing well

Quitting smoking can be tough, and continuing smoking quite dangerous. But a little known fact is, that being overweighty is even more dangerous than smoking

Ann T. Krist – I don’t know, I think that’s a pretty well known fact. He’s overweight too by the way. Like most of my family. At least this side.
