Today is the big day!
Yes, today is the anniversary of My Fair Lady’s first opening on Broadway in 1956!
Also, my birthday.
It’s been quite a good day. My father was feeling well enough for us to have our party. And you know I party hardy.
Okay, not that hardy. But it was a nice little time. My dad came and picked me up, we walked to my parents’ house. Pretty much no snow and ice left on the streets now, that makes it so much easier for me to get around.
We had cake. A lovely biscuit-chocolate thing, that I had requested my mother make for the occasion. Kikskage. I always loved that, but haven’t had it since the whole diabetes thing. You know. But I figured that I could allow myself the treat today. It was really good too.
A little later on we headed downtown to Rådhus Caféen. Our regular place. Where I had my regular pork dish. Very good as well. And that was the extent of the partying. I decided to cancel the discotheque visit after all. (That part is a joke).
There was only one present for me this year, but it was a very juicy 1.5 terabyte external hard drive. Oh my, that’s a lot of storage. I’m going to use it to do a complete backup of all my other drives. And then tuck it away someplace safe. At my parents’ I guess. So in case of a fire or burglary or natural disaster I won’t have to start again from scratch. That’s the plan, Stan. Did you see Stan Lee on The Big Bang Theory? That was great. I can’t wait for the return of evil Wil Wheaton. But that’s not important right now.
Thank you to everyone who have left me birthday wishes here and on Facebook too. And to Corrie for the card and uncle Jens for the call. You guys are great. I am, as always, very grateful for the support and kindness. And the fact that you put up with me. I don’t know how you guys do it. But keep it up!
Hopefully my birthday next year will be under slightly better circumstances. Sight-wise. Or at least not worse. I hope the worst is behind me and the next year will be stable and perhaps even a little better.
As always, fingers crossed. As long as there are fingers left, I will cross them

BELATED happy birthday, dearest Plume. I am so sorry I missed it. I don’t know why I thought it was today, when in reality it is actually my sister-in-law’s birthday today. Should’ve known, ‘cos she Irish and it’s Saint Patrick’s Day today.
I digress.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :))) x

Desiree – Thank you, thank you. And don’t worry about it. I forgot that it was your sister-in-law’s birthday too, so we are even!
I am just glad you’re back, you’ve been away a month. I was starting to get worried that some disaster had fallen upon you.
Take care now.
