Unicorns And Pancakes
So today was supposed to be the big day. But of course it wasn’t. No eye surgery.
I am still sick. But I am feeling better. I probably could have gone through with the surgery. I don’t know if you have to be 100% fit to undergo full anesthesia, but I imagine I would have been okay to do it. Still I’d rather be at full health for it, to be honest. Mostly for the post-surgery. That day of full blindness still worries me, and I’d rather be feeling okay for when I have to go through that. So I’m still fine with the postponement. But I still don’t know when the new date will be. So for now, cross fingers that the new date will be soon.
Seeing as though I was feeling quite a bit better, I decided to head to the playground today. I hadn’t seen the goats in a week. Last Friday was a holiday, so Thursday was the last time I was there. Much too long to go without goats.
It turned out that I was not the only one who had been sick. Magnethe had been under the weather as well. In fact she had been very poorly and sluggish and non-responsive and not eating. Per told me that the vet had come around to see her. It was something wrong with her stomach, I’m not sure exactly what. I joked that perhaps she had gotten it from me. Seing as though I’m not a ruminant, he thought it was unlikely. What do I know, I’m not a vet!
But thankfully she was doing better. In fact, if Per hadn’t told me about it I don’t think I would have noticed anything. She was up and about and eating everything she could get her hooves on. So hopefully that’s all blown over. I don’t know what I would do if something were to happen to her too. She is the last remnant of The Better Days, when things were easy and happy at the playground.
But there is still happiness at the playground of course. Not least with Magnethe’s kids. Here is a video from today: youtube.com/watch?v=8D85IDueDys. They still enjoy the view from my back. And they are still so much fun. And so big now. But still not too big to be picked up.
Now I better be heading to bed. I have wasted a lot of time struggling with google this evening. They have introduced a new design. With a sidebar on the left. Which completely ruins the page for people with lower resolution screens. So that’s really a big bummer. I use google all the time. Now it has become very clunky and unhandy. It’s really bad news. And there’s no way to turn the sidebar off. I don’t think the design is live for everyone yet, so perhaps they are still testing it. Maybe they will realize that it needs to be optional. I have seen other people complaining about it. Seems there are plenty who find it annoying. But for me it’s more than annoying. It’s hindering the proper usage of the search engine. I really wish giant, multinational corporations would spend a little money and hire some visually disabled beta-testers. They could hire me, I’m available.
I’d just tell them to put goats all over the place, though.

Oh no! A bad ruminator. Hope Magnethe is feeling better. And of course, you, too! Hope the hospital is able to reschedule you sooner rather than later.
It has been raining (again) here and is very windy. We were going to have a yard sale, but I don’t think we could keep things from blowing away. (Well that would be one way of getting rid of stuff!)
It’s supposed to rain Monday thru Thursday next week. Drat! It’s soggy and muddy already and goatzies don’t like sogginess and mud.

Debster – she seemed to have gotten her groove back. And I am getting there as well. New appointment for surgery in a month+a little. So I’ll just have to wait for that.
sorry you’re getting all that rain. I bet the goats have a complaint or two about that indeed. Are you having a yard sale to clear out stuff for moving? When is it that you will be moving again, do you know?

We hope to be moved by the end of May, but we have until June 15th as the official date. We’d like to have that extra time in June to do the cleaning up, get everything out of the garage and other out buildings.
I’m sure those goats of ours have been buying stuff for years. Otherwise I can’t explain how two people have acquired so much stuff!
We were going to have a yard sale Saturday. But it was cold and with 20+ mile an hour wind, we decided to try again next Sat. Hopefully it will be warmer and not so windy. The weather forecasters had predicted frost for the northern part of our state. We didn’t get that cold, but it sure wasn’t very nice today.

Debster – I am crossing my fingers that everything will go smoothly with the move.
Do you think the goats have somehow managed to get a credit card and have been buying stuff online? Never let a goat have a credit card. It’s a disaster waiting to happen.
