So Long And Thanks For All The Raisins
Took a trip to see the goats today. The weather was quite nice when I left my apartment. It was a bit cold, but not chillingly so. And the sun was out. Rather a lovely day. Until I reached the playground and the rain started. But okay. I can take a little rain. As long as it’s not too cold. The rest of the day has been a mixture of sunshine and rain.
Because of the rain, I went inside the goat house when I got to the playground. Magnethe was at the hatch, looking out. She baahed and came to me. Then Grethe appeared at the hatch and baahed and came in and up to me. But there was no Hans to be seen. At first I thought perhaps he was still outside. But with the rain and with the two other goats baahing inside, that did not seem likely. So I went outside and checked the fold. And there was no Hans. He has unfortunately moved on. I always knew he would leave, and lately I’ve known it couldn’t be long, because he got so big and was starting to act like a real buck around the girls. So I wasn’t surprised to find him missing today. But it’s still sad of course. He was a fun litlte guy and I will miss him. A perfect goat boy. Per and Alice told me that he has gone to a playground in Sabro. Where he has gotten a couple of lovely goat ladies to have fun with. So I’m sure he’ll have a lot of fun and adventures there. Although I had hoped he would go to Kurt’s place, as was the original plan. I’m not sure why that didn’t happen after all. But after Kurt left the playground and people seemed to not be in touch with him anymore, I knew that was a possibility too. With all the stress and health problems he has had, maybe he’s starting to scale down his animal activities. But I’m going to have to try to find out how Vanilje’s kid is doing. Hopefully she’s still okay.
So now it’s just the gals and me. I’m still very happy that Grethe gets to stay. That I can see her grow up and become huge like Magnethe, I’m sure. It will be interesting to see how the dynamic will be between them. I imagine it will be something like Magnethe and Vanilje’s relationship, but of course they were sisters while Grethe is Magnethe’s daughter. So I wonder if that will make it different in any ways. Time will tell.
Time passes and things change and there is nothing we can do about it.
Bye bye Hans, we’ll miss you.

I LOVE the fact that you get to follow generations unfold in the goat pen. Sorry Hans had to go, though. I know it’s necessary, but it’s still sad to see them go.
Did the ventilator get sorted?
Ehem, and what’s with your calendar going missing???? ;)

Desiree – Yup, that’s pretty sweet. I kinda want to make a family tree, but it’s probably too hard with my lack of computer skills now.
I hope Hans will father some sweet kids in the future too.
The ventilator is all taken care of. There was no problem with mine, luckily. They just had to measure the intake, and clean the filter.
And don’t worry, I do have the calendar stil!
Katrine – I have not seen Kurt in a long time, and haven’t heard how he’s doing fomr the others either. But I hope he’s doing okay. He has retired, so hopefully he’s getting some good rest, with his animals.
And no doubt Hans will have a bunch of fun.

Maybe you could send Kurt a card? I’ll bet he’d enjoy hearing from you. He probably misses seeing everyone and the animals.
Sorry to hear Hans has left and is now in the company of two pretty girls. Wait a minute! Sorry??? We should be happy he’s in the company of two pretty girls. He’s probably ecstatic with joy! And with all his socialization with you, he will make a friendly “buck” goat.

Debster – A card for Kurt would be nice. It’s just quite far away from my comfort zone. But I’ll see what I can do.
I think Hans is quite happy in his new place. Femaly company, as much food as you can eat and sweet humans wanting spend time with him. That’s not a bad life for a goat. Even for a Plume it sounds tempting.
