Reservella Ella Ella

Starting off with a video from the snow tour. youtube.com/watch?v=fMmq7eqaOAc. Trip to the doctor’s office and then off to see the goats. Very cold. The little birdies inside. And the family who fed the goats. On the bus, and walking with my dad. Snow and goats, two beautiful things.

I have received the test results from the doctor already, and they were all fine. No worries there.

And finally a big thank you to the magnificent Debster, who sent me an early christmas present. Several in fact. Three pairs of woolly socks. I already have two pairs she sent me previously, and they are excellently warm. Very useful. And even more useful, brilliant in fact, are the gloves/mittens. I have never seen anything like them before. You can sort of slide off the top, so the fingers are free. What an excellent idea. I always have trouble with my gloves in the cold, because I can’t use my camera or my telescope when I wear my big winter gloves. And I can’t scratch the goats. So I always end up having to take off the gloves. And my fingers turn to ice. I haven’t tested these new ones in the field yet, but in theory I should be able to keep my hands relatively warm while still being able to use my fingers when I need to. I love them already, can’t wait to try them out. Thank you, Deb! You sure know how to keep me warm.

Tis the season.

I’m so glad you liked your presents! Aren’t those glove/mittens just the thing for petting goazies? I gave my Dad some socks like those for his birthday. He says they really keep his feet toasty warm at night.

You certainly do have some snow there! That was your Dad walking with you? I think I need to send him a woolly hat for his ears! hee, hee

That was funny how the goats waited till you were just at the doorway when they both started “baaaing” in unison. Do you think they knew you were outside?

The kids with the carrots were sure getting a kick out of feeding the goats. One of the kids stuck out his/her tongue just like our goazies do when they are trying to get a treat. (Also saw a “goat in a bucket” in your video.)

Those are budgies! And I would think they are mighty tough little budgies to be outside in cold weather. You must have heartier Danish budgies. Ours are all inside birds in the cold weather, for sure.

My budgie, Chicory is like the blue ones with a white head. I called him Chicory after the blue flowering chicory plants that we have blooming during the summer alongside the back roads.

Do the budgies get brought inside to the heated spaces during the winter time? My “Chicory” doesn’t know how good of life he has inside our house! hee, hee

I donated another pint of blood to our local Red Cross today. I’m up to a grand total of . . . 5 gallons of blood!

Yes, I will email my address to you tonight. I enjoy sending you warm thoughts (and gloves) figuratively and literally!

Debster – I am very happy with them. Those glittens (as I will know call them) are just an excellent idea. I think the goats will approve as well.
That was my dad indeed, and he was actually complaining about his ears being cold that day. But he had a hat on yesterday, so I don’t think you need to get him one! I wonder if it’s possibly to get a woolly cap? Hmm.
I guess we have super-budgies in Denmark. Maybe they have polarbear genes in them. I’m not sure if they get brought inside in the heated house, but it’s a definite possibility. They seem to survive every winter at least.
I don’t know how much a gallon is exactly, but I hope you got some nice cookies for that!
