Part Deus Ex Machina
So yesterday I was saying how we’d try to get me an appointment at the eye doctor soon. Well, today my dad went there to make the appointment for me. And it turned out they had an appointment the very same day. Today, that is. If we didn’t take that then we’d have to wait a while until they could fit me in. So off we went. Short notice, but I was just glad that I could get in quickly.
The eye doctor took a look at my eyes. He said that under the circumstances they looked fine. The cataracts aren’t back I guess. He told me that if I felt my eyesight getting worse I should get in touch immediately, but otherwise he’ll see me again in three months for another checkup. So that was that. He also did a sight test on me. My left eye is around 15-20%. Up from the 5% before the cataract treatment. So that’s still a good improvement. Of course the right eye is still 0%. We didn’t need to test that. It’s crazy to think that I have been down to 2,5% eyesight overall, not too long ago. That is almost as close as you can get to 0% without actually being there. That’s a little scary. I guess that’s why I can still appreciate having just the 10ish% I have now. It may not be much, but I have tried worse. That makes it easier to appreciate that I’m not completely blind. So if I can hang on to the improvement then that would be really good.
As we left the doctor’s office the snow was coming down outside. Winter is still here. By the time we got back home the pavement that had been clear when we left was now again all white, covered by newfallen snow. Very beautiful, and I love that I can actually see it.
Meanwhile, the mailman brought me treats today. Amongst them the movie The Goonies from Traci. Thank you very much! And thank you to Deb, who sent me another pair of those excellent gloveymittens. I liked the ones she sent me for christmas so much that I asked her if she could send me another pair. So I’d have one pair for goat trips and one for human trips. Can you believe, some people don’t like the smell of wet goats? I can hardly believe it myself.
If only this was a scratch’n’sniff blog. If only.

Wet goat doesn’t smell bad at all. Now wet dog is something else! Pheww!
We had the boys and Snickers out grazing in the yard yesterday afternoon. They sure enjoy “out-of-the-pen” time. Much green grass and fresh water was consumed.

Debster – yes, some people just don’t appreciate the finer things in life. Silly.
I think Magnethe and Grethe would like to see some green grass. It’ll be a while yet.
