The Horrendous Space Kablooie

I really ought to make a blog update. I really oughta. Although there is not really anything going on to write about. So how do I solve that problem? I guess I go all meta on you.

But also, I should send a big thank you to Desiree and her daughter Raven, who made me a beautiful heart. It is extremely sweet and adorable and made me happy. Kids can do the darndest things.

I think the snow has all rained away by now. It has been pleasantly mild. I wouldn’t mind if it stayed that way. It’s been good to have some snow, now that my eyesight is a little better I can actually enjoy it. But I am still longing for summer and warmth. I’m not saying I’m pro global warming. But you know. It’s better than nuclear winter.

I have a dentist appointment in a couple of days. After my 10+year break from dentistry, now I actually have to go regularly? What a drag. Can’t I just wait another 10 years for my next appointment? Oh well. Hopefully there will still be nothing wrong with my teeth. I had a period recently where I had some over-sensitivity behind my upper front teeth. But I think that was because I ate too many kiwi fruits. Yes. They’re quite acidic aren’t they? I think that was what caused the problem. It’s gone away after I stopped eating kiwis. So that lends some credence to my theory. A scientific approach to kiwis.

Problem solved.

I’m so glad you like the heart. Raven made it at her mormor’s and she ironed it for her. She spent ages on it and when it came to it, she wasn’t quite sure she could actually send it off to you (you know how the artist can fall in love with her art and all that) but we wrapped it up together and her and daddy went to the postoffice to send it, and she was very proud and is now very delighted that you like it!

So, what happened about the presents in the end that two arrived for Raven? I cancelled an order with Wupt! before Christmas, because the item was sold out. I received the cancelletation confirmation and everything and was not charged so was rather surprised when the item turned up last week! They still haven’t charged me and now, I have two little people, one wearing red and one wearing white, on my shoulders arguing over what to do. Very strange indeed!

My mum’s had to go and get Raven a princess sleeping bag now that Arthur has such a cool Thomas one. Also, both my children have asked many times when we’re going over to visit you! I guess they’re used to having large parts of their “family” a far way away and that eventually, they’ll get to visit. ;) Bless.

So, what did you think to my domestic goddess cake for Arthur? :))

Lots of hugs and best of luck with the dentist. I haven’t been for a while, actually. But I was at the gynogologist on Monday. That’s gotta count for something!

Definitely the kiwi’s by the way! They are very acidic.

Desirée – I love the heart, and I love the adorable story behind it. I think Raven should be very proud, she obviously has an artistic gene in her! And I’m very proud to have received it.
As for the presents, well the first one was presumed lost in the mail. Normally you’d have to return that (or I’d have to refund the refund), but amazon said the value of it was so little that you could just go ahead and keep it. So hopefully it was worth the wait, getting two presents!
Maybe Santa is just very generous and slow, on his old days.
I wish I could have you all over for a visit. I would love to meet the kids, that would make me happy in many ways. But, well you know. MAybe some day. I can dream.

Sorry I forgot to reply to your older message with the cakes. It actually got caught by my spam protection at first, because it had more than 2 links in it. Spamprotection can’t tell the difference between cake and viagra I guess :-P
Looked delicious though. You really made that all by yourself? Maybe you should consider a career in bakery! That’s mighty impressive. Almost a shame to eat it!

  4. Debster Says:

Oh, yes. The cake looked so cute. Looks like you spent lots of time on it. Good job, Desiree!

Plume: That was funny about the spam filter and “cake versus viagra”. We get those spams, too. The viagra ones, not the cake ones. We’ll take the cake ones. Hee, hee.

  5. Plume Says:

Debster – yeah, I wish they’d sell more cake!

Bonus that you didn’t get charged for it! I’ve yet to hear anything from Wupt! – or Hovsa, as I like to call them :/ But I suppose sooner or later they’ll realise I “owe” them 700 kr. An honesterere person would of course inform them of their mistake, but not I. I’m actually somewhat annoyed with their incompetence. Sigh. Oh well.

Yeah, the cake took ages to make and it was nearly 2 a.m. before it was done. But it was worth it. Arthur still talks about it. And it was supremely tasty too! Total win!

desiree – It’s going to be hard to top that cake!
