June June Beans
It’s been quite a nice week. We have had some lovely, sunny days. Feels rather summery. And now we’re into June, so it’s only right. Hopefully many summer days to come.
And the goats are all doing well. Mia’s boy is getting bigger and stronger. He has even started going adventuring on his own. Much to Mia’s distress. I think she’d like to put a leash on him! She’s doing great, taking good care of him. And he’s a smart little boy, he knows when to run. Which is whenever Bob starts heading in his direction! It’s amusing to watch Bob casually strolling towards him with a wagging tail. And then bam, they sprint off chasing each other. It’s a big goat circus with Large and Medium running around having fun as well. Medium is extremely playful. You can practically have wrestling matches with him. Lots of fun.

And videos. First a little video of Medium and Large jumping around on me. There was a video that went viral of a goat kid playing on a big pig. This was my attempt at making a human version of it. It would have worked better when they were a little smaller, but hey still fun!

And goatlog from Monday and Tuesday. Mia’s boy being chased around quite a bit by Bob and Medium, as mentioned before. Boys will be boys.

Oh yes, I also got magnets in the post. Thank you Debster! Pheasant and barn. Pheasants forever! And I used to work in a barn. Fitting! I really appreciate it. My world map on the fridge is being filled in. I also got another magnet from my Italian friend Laura, plus a printed version of her book with goat stories. I have already read it in PDF format, but it’s lovely nonetheless. I really would like to write a book like that some day.

I think you have already written a book – your blog about your life in Denmark and being “owned” by goats!
Glad to hear you received the magnets. Now we need to see a picture of the front of your fridge so we know how much space we have left to cover with more magnets.
Medium and Large as so cute with their little pink noses. Reminds me of our own sweet Frankie who had the pinkest nose of all our goats.
We’ve had lots of rain in our area. The rivers are all up above flood stage. Nothing as bad as in 2008 or 1993, but still high. The corn in the fields (the ones the farmers have been able to plant) is starting to come up. Not sure how well it will do with all the rain and standing water in the fields.
Guess who just received an e-reader Nook? Me! My husband thought I should have one. What a surprise. Now I just need to learn how to use it. That will keep me busy for a long time. Hee, hee

Debster – That’s a long book! I have taken some pictures of the fridge, I shall have to see if anyone of them turned out halfway decent. The light isn’t too good in here for photos. But we shall see!
We have had lovely summery weather here. And the weather forecast says it’ll continue. Lovely!

Yes, ruby-throated hummingbirds! That’s the kind we have coming to our feeders. Aren’t they just the cutest little birds? The females seem to be so brave. They don’t mind if I stand close to the feeders to watch them eat.
I was grooming the goats and donkey this afternoon after work. Lots of hair from Snickers, but the goats seem to have shed their winter coats by now.
Billy jumped up on the bench and let me comb him thoroughly. I think I put him in a trance, as he was so relaxed and happy. I took some pictures of him and John Boy on my phone so I have happy, smiling goatzies to look at.
Then the cats decided it was time for me to comb them, too. Everyone wants to be groomed! Any nesting birdies will have have plenty of soft goat, donkey, or cat hair to choose from in the backyard.

they are pretty amazing! I wonder if I flapped my arms fast enough… no probably not!
I think our goats have shed most of their wool now. Bob is nice and black again!
I took a picture of my fridge, it’s not very good but hope you can spot the magnets! They are on the bottom row of the freezer, which is on top of the fridge. Right under my Mads&Magneethe magnet.

Wow, that’s pretty impressive bunch of magnets. I’ve been to the Alamo in Texas. And the one with Magnethe and Mads . . . sigh . . . almost made me cry.
And yes, I found the pheasant and the red barn magnets I sent you. I like the one with the chick and the egg, too.

That picture of Mads and Magnethe is my favourite of all the pictures. It’s still the first thing I see when I open up my Firefox in the morning. My two spirit animals.
