Quick Lee

Another quiet and coldening week. Good times with the goats, but nothing new to report really. Hopefully things should be fully back to normal next week. I hope. On Thursday I went and had dinner with the folks. We had pita breads with green stuff. That was really good. My mother showed me some vegetarian recipes that we might try out. Then I helped her a little with her new camera. Always nice to feel useful. At home I got a replacement computer console for the crosstrainer. Doesn’t seem to make any difference. But nevermind that, I can still use it and it’s all okay. Okay. Now I am bored and tired and have nothing interesting to write about. So let’s just move on to some goat pictures, that usually does the trick.

I love the look on Kamel’s face here. Looks like she’s practicing her Clint Eastwood impression. Do you feel lucky, human?

Mia with her eyes on the prize.

Me and Mia.

Mia and Mio.

Mio has found a new favourite spot. Several times this week she’d hear noises inside and then she’d slowly trundle over to that spot and look up at the grating/window and bleat for attention.

The mighty Palle.

And a goatlog. With sweet times inside and out. Bleating and butting of heads. The usual funstuffs.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next.

“Pita bread with green stuff” – now you’ve got me curious. What “green stuff” did you have in the pita bread?

That will be a big draw at the playground when everyone finds out that Clint Eastwood aka Kamel is staying there in the barn!

We’ve had much warmer, humid weather the past few days. Too hot for October. We did finally have 1/2 inch of rain – hooray.

It’s supposed to rain today (Sat), too. The map shows rain right over us, but nothing is happening. Did someone set a giant glass globe over our area to prevent the rain from reaching us?

We’ve had a few hummingbirds stopping at our feeders on their way south to warmer weather. They drink and drink nectar and stay around for a little while before they take off. We had three of them earlier in the week.

Our boys are not enjoying the hot, humid weather, but like the cooler weather, too. We trimmed hooves last weekend, so the goatzies have nice pretty feet now. We also trimmed donkey hooves. What an ordeal that was. I think I need the calming paste instead of the donkey.

The green stuff was… peas and cucumber and tomatoes and corn and lettuce. Before I went vegetarian I’d have tuna in it too. So nothing fancy, but I like it!
I wouldn’t mind some hotter weather! Although it hasn’t been horrible here. Winter is coming though!
I hope you’re not UNDER THE DOME!
You’d think the donkey would get more used to having the hooves trimmed. Or not!

OMG – I hope we’re not in a Stephen King novel! It did finally rain and the weather is much nicer and cooler. Like it should be. Although there is that pesky glass barrier that keeps us from traveling more than 10 miles in any direction. Hee, hee

Stephen King scares me too much to read him. It’s way too real when ordinary people go about their day and wham, there’s a rabid dog (Cujo) or dead pets (Pet Cemetary), or a dome so you can’t get out of town. Have you read a lot of Stephen King?

The goats never have gotten used to hoof trimming either. My husband grabs hold of the horns (you know how much they like that – the goats, not my husband) and I pick up the kicking hooves one at a time and do the trimming.

Snicker’s mama donkey and all the other donkeys at another farm will lift their hooves for anyone. I can get the four new baby donkeys to lift their front legs, too.

We’ll really miss the baby donkeys when they go to their new homes. Their owner said he has homes for all of them. The babies are a nice tame bunch of donkeys this year. We’ve been visiting them since August.

Mmmm . . . tuna. We make a tuna casserole with some condensed mushroom soup, peas, tuna, noodles, and some seasonings. Yummy.

And I like cucumbers again. I liked to eat them a long time ago, then didn’t like the way they tasted, but now I’m back to liking them. Does your tastes change like that, too? I’m that way with cottage cheese – like/dislike/like/dislike. Not sure where I stand on cottage cheese right at the moment!

I think it’s time for supper. I smell chili cooking downstairs. Better follow my nose and get a bowl.

Haha! Well I hope nothing spooky will happen to you! I enjoy Stephen King. I just fininshed reading Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining. And now I’m reading one of his son’s books. They don’t scare me! I’m so brave!
The baby donkeys sound so cute! I guess any baby animals are! Not scary at all.
I used to eat quite a bit of tuna. A can of tuna was always something easy to grab. No more of that. I eat lots of cucumber and tomato. Especially tomato. All my facebook friends are probably sick and tired of me writing about tomatoes. I love the stuff! My taste does change sometimes. I’ll love something but then I’ll get tired of it or something. Once I like something I tend to overdo it!
