Heatwaving

Oh my. We’ve had a little heatwave in Denmark. Just a little. But lovely.

I wanted to enjoy it all with the goats. The last week of summer vacation. So I had planned to just sit in the pen and enjoy the sun with the gang. Unfortunately I got a blocked drain in my shower and had to sit at home to wait for the super. And then the next day the plumber because apparently it was a bad block. Sounded like he was drilling rock out there. So I did not get to make the most of the week. But what I did make of it was really good anyway. I love sitting in the pen with the goats. Especially when the sun is shining. Good times. Good for the soul.

Less good times is the terror alert in Norway. My dad is actually in Norway right now. Helping at the Norway Cup football tournament. So it was kind of unsettling to see on the news that Norway is on high alert. Expecting a terrorist attack. But what can you do. Hopefully nothing will happen, for everyone’s sake. What a world.

Yesterday was Bodil’s birthday. She turned 67. A feisty old lady, and a really good friend. I called her and wished her a happy birthday. It’s not often I call people voluntarily. But her friendship means a lot to me. When we talked about her upcoming birthday this week she told me again, several times, how much she liked the photobook I made for her. It was a good gift, even if it was a month early when I gave it to her! On Friday I stumbled upon a Coke Zero bottle in the supermarket with her name on it. I guess it’s a promotional thing. There was a whole row of bottles that said “share a Coke Zero with [insert name]” with different names. I wasn’t looking for it or anything, but there it was right at eye level. Share a Coke Zero with Bodil. So I had to get that.

A nice little extra present. I have no idea if she drinks cola. But it’s a fun bottle.

That’s about all. It’s still very hot and I’m melting. I can writes no more. Let’s go goat photo.

Herman getting ever comfier with me. This week I could actually scratch his back for extended periods without giving him treats and without him running away. Nice.

That Kamel look.

Whenever I try to take a selfie, there’s always a goat sneaking in.

Relaxing Mia-style.

I have seen the sunlight, and it is good.

Sunny Mia.

Funny Mia.

Sharing the bench.

Buddies.

Mwah.

A place in the sun, with Kamel.

Can I help you?

Everybody needs a Mia for a pillow.

Mmm peanut.

Palle behind the bench.

Ehm. Palle hanging on the bench.

Holding on.

Good company.

Mia on top of things.

Palle and Mia.

Mia and Palle.

Looks like Mio enjoyed the joke I just told her.
A goat, a sheep and a human walk into a bar.
And the human ended up with a headache because he wasn’t used to butting his head against things.
Sorry.

I have had my exercise bike since 2008. Clearly buns of steel by now, as shown by the saddle damage!

Phew that’s all. Plus a goatlog. Good times in the sun. Relaxing with Mia on the bench, after she called me out. Teaching tricks to Kamel. Mio rolling on the ground. And so on.

And that’s all for this week, forks. Spoon you in the next one.

I wasn’t aware of the Norway terror alert. I just looked up some info on it. We have been watching the news about the Malaysian plane that was shot down in the Ukraine.

Have you been able to get in touch with your Dad? Hope the extra security keeps everyone safe at the soccer matches.

I haven’t talked to my dad myself, but my mother has talked to him. Everything seems to be going fine. Looks like things are calming down a little. Hopefully nothing will happen!

I really had to look for that info on the web about the terror alert for Norway. Fox News didn’t have it that I could see.

I checked it again today and they say the threat has been lowered now. Thank goodness for that. Evidently there have been people from all over (Australia, Norway, US) going to Syria for training and fighting, then coming home to do bad things.

Every day I think, what is wrong with people?

  4. Plume Says:

Yes, the threat lowered. And my dad safely home. So that’s good. But what a world, indeed.
