Sick Leave

It hasn’t been the best of weeks. I have been sick. Deathly ill, he said without exaggerating at all. Okay, maybe a little. A lil ill. It started with a sore throat around Mondayish. I had a foot therapy session in the morning. The foot therapist was coughing and sneezing. So if I weren’t infected by then…

Afterwards I went to get a haircut. I didn’t have an appointment so I ended up waiting 45 minutes. Because I just wanted to get it done. So I was quite late getting to the goats. They weren’t pleased. Also because of the rain. And then as the week went on I felt worse and worse. I don’t think I’ve had a fever. But everything else. Practically. So, that’s what I’ve been doing all week. Feeling bad for myself and milking it for sympathy. Woe is me. This morning was the first time I woke up without a sore throat this week. I’m still coughing a little, but I think I’m almost back to normal. Tomorrow I’ll probably be super okay. Famous last words.

Now I just want things to get back to normal. After the holidays and the sickness. Let’s get back on track, please. And that goes for the whole world. Let’s hope things get better.

And here are some goat photos from the beginning of the week.

Bruce and Clark happy to be out of the rain I think.

Clark still adorable.

Kamel’s kind smile.

Nosey Mia.

Smooches?

Mighty mama Mio.

Mio and Bruce in the rain.

And a picture of Mio and Bruce. I don’t see Clark anywhere. Hmm…

I think Mia had a feeling someone was watching her.

Palle and Mia, synchronous hay eating.

And a goatlog. Just a very short one.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

The aroma of pine-scented goat breath must be overwhelming at the playground! They do enjoy a good pine tree nosh.

Sorry to hear you are under the weather. Hope you are feeling better soon. We have wide-spread flu in the area, but we haven’t been sick . . . yet.

I heard on the news that the flu vaccine we had was only working 23% of the time as the flu had mutated enough that the vaccine wasn’t helping much. Just what we need, to get sick with one of the multitude of flu strains, colds, and strep throat going around.

Poor little Clark really looks wet in your second picture. Our boys wouldn’t stand out in the rain like that, pine tree or no pine tree.

We still have snow on the ground. Not a lot, but it’s still around. It was much warmer today so some of it melted and the weekend is to be warmer, too. The January thaw is upon us. Hooray!

I was reading an article in the Wall Street Journal online and they were saying that “goat videos” were the next big thing. Cat videos have run their course, according to the article.

They said how cute baby goats were to watch (Buttermilk especially) and then there were the goats that made the loud, almost human like sounds.

There was one compilation video I watched with cute goat clips and guess who did I see? You and Mia in the playground! Mia was much smaller and came over to you and jumped on your back. So the two of you are famous.

I just don’t know why it took so long for the rest of the world to find out what we already knew . . . Goatzies Are Adorable!

There were also some videos with baby goats in the house. Not sure about your goats, but ours are not house-trained. When Billy was ill last winter, he didn’t say too much about being inside till he was better. Then he was really curious about what it was like to live in “the big barn” with us!

I think I’m better now. At least almost back to normal. Hopefully it will be steady sailing from here.
We might be getting snow again soon. At least it’s supposed to be belowzero for a week or two. We shall see.
Goat videos have become quite popular. Especially the ones with goats making human-like sounds, yes. I have seen a lot of music videos with goat clips spliced into them. Quite amusing. I have also seen the video where Mia and I are featured! A facebook friend psoted it on my wall and asked “Did you know you’re in this?”. I didn’t! Quite funny. I wish they would have had a link to Mia’s page, though. I could have used some of those millions of visitors! I’m still waiting for Mia to make me and famous. Well, maybe just rich. I’d probably prefer to stay out of the spotlight. Unlike Mia.
I’d love to have our goats living with me in my apartment. Don’t think they’re toilet trained, though!

Glad to know you are on the mend. It’s no fun being sick, especially if you are having dreary cloudy weather.

We went through a period of several weeks with little or no sunshine it seemed. It really affects peoples’ moods at the grocery store or department stores.

I knew we weren’t having much sunshine during the day because our decorative solar lights weren’t coming on at night!

We have one outside the bedroom window and it changes colors as it comes on. It was really dark one night when I went to bed and that was why.

I’m looking forward to spring and sunshine. I’ll feel so much better than. But I’m doing okay now, at least. I bought an extra strong light bulb that’s supposed to give off daylight like light. Not sure I’m really feeling it, though. I’ve been thinking of getting a real light-therapy thing. I need the light!
