Snow Fever

Another week done. I think I’m all better now. Probably. Apart from the odd coughing fit. And I still have problems getting up in the morning. But I now have my second alarm clock, and it’s working very well. Placed across the room so I have to get out of bed. Good thinking, me. Hopefully that will help me get back into a better rhythm.

Not of lot of news to report. I broke my power bar. Or power twister or flexi rod or whatever it’s called. I think I’ve had it for a couple of years. It’s been good for working out the arms and shoulders and raising the pulse. Snapped right in two as I bent it. Sometimes my superhuman strength surprises even me. Hopefully a replacement will arrive shortly.

It’s been a fun week with the goats. On Monday they all were quite riled up and jumping around and butting heads and generally being silly. Alice suggested it might be ‘pen fever’. Like cabin fever. So we let them out of the pen and let them wander around for a while. To change their surroundings a little. After some adventures on the grounds they discovered that the hay wagon had been left open. Last time they were in there was during the hay shortage. When there was only straw, which is not as good. This time there were bales of good eating hay. Naturally they were in heaven. And since they hadn’t gotten any hay in the morning before we let them out, they were allowed to stay in there for a while and snack on the good hay. The twins and Mia and Palle jumped around on the hay bales, which was amusing to watch. I wouldn’t mind a mountain of food to jump around on myself!

And then the snow came. First a little. And then a good deal more. I prefer the brightness of the snow days to the dark and rainy ones. And it’s so pretty. Fun to see the goats run around in it too. I have a sneaking suspicion it will all rain away tomorrow, if it isn’t gone already. Oh well. At least it will get a little bit warmer then.

And that’s about all. Go go goat photos.

Guess that snout. Hint: it’s Bruce.

Scratch my chin!

The mother lode.

Guess that snout, round 2. Hint: It’s Mia.

Snowday.

And a couple of goatlogs. First from Monday. With the pen fever and the hay wagon fun.

And the rest of the week, with fun in the snow.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

You really did have some snow. We had rain overnight and then it snowed a little today on Sunday. It’s much colder and very windy again. No sunshine at all. Drat.

We had very pleasant temps last week. And much sunshine. I like those nice sunny days. Our boys were even out basking in the sunshine.

We took advantage of the nice weather and Snickers had a manicure/pedicure on Saturday. She really needed it, too. Surprise, surprise. She even let the farrier pick up her hooves to trim.

The whole event went so much better than it ever has before. Guess she finally took my advice and watched those you tube videos of how the nice donkey lifts its hooves and doesn’t bite or kick anyone in the process! Hee, hee.

I think we are having chili soup tonight for supper. Do you ever make chili? Although I know your tastes run more to chicken soup!

Most of our snow is gone now. But we’re in for some cold weather. We might get more! I’d prefer more sunshine, please.
Glad Snickers has learned the trimming procedure! Let’s hope it lasts! Nobody better show her any videos of donkeys behaving badly! Isn’t that tv show..?
I don’t make chili no. I’m not really into the hot spicy food! But mama’s soup, yes that’ll do! My parents got a new stove and apparently the old pot mama used to making soup doesn’t work on it! Something about… magnets? Anyway, she wants a new one but it’s quite expensive. So no soup until then. Maybe I’ll start a fund raiser!

Oh our chili isn’t spicy. We don’t add lots of chili pepper to it like some people do. I can’t eat beans, so we make it without and my husband adds some cooked beans to his individual bowl of soup.
