Wave To The Heat

Heatwave! Well, a little one. Sort of. Around 25C/77F to 30C/86F, potentially. This week. It’s been lovely. And hot. I wish we could have more weather like this. Looks like it will cool down in a couple of days, though. Enjoy it while it lasts. It has been a pretty mediocre summer so far, other than this week.

Speaking of heat, say hello to my new space heater, Heatmax Junior.

I have started exercising with two space heaters running. For maximum heat. Coupled with the mini heatwave it has been quite taxing. But effective. I love pushing throuh the pain, pushing myself physically. It’s very hard, but very rewarding.

I’m not sure the goats are enjoying the heat so much. For a couple of days they have been totally quiet in the morning. Normally Mia starts hollering as soon as she gets a sense that someone is outside. But not a peep. Barely a peep either when I took Peanut out for some solo video. Normally that would leave Palle and Mia complaining inside. But not much this time. And taking them out of the pen, normally they’d charge for the green stuff and drag me along. But this week they’ve been casually walking around, not going for the green. Pretty odd. But once they got into the greenery they got going. Eating lots. Mia hollering after me when I go to fill the water bucket. I think it just takes them a little longer to get going in this heat. Can’t blame them.

Speaking of going goats.

I think I’m somewhere under the pile of goat kids.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

What beautiful cloud and sky pictures! We’ve had some hazy days from the Canadian wildfires up north. The jet stream was just right earlier in the week and brought down hazy skies for us. It was even a little cooler because of the smoke. We couldn’t smell anything (thank goodness), but there were some warnings for those with breathing problems.

We’re back to the heat and humidity now. And of course, more rain coming up. Oh, well. The goats like all the green grass to eat this year.

We had a nice 4th of July listening to patriotic music in the park. My husband plays trombone in a community band and then we watched our little local home-town parade that evening.

I watched the fireworks from home while sitting in the back of our truck. The neighbor’s dog joined me first, then after he left (to finish chores with his owner), our mama cat took his place.

There were three or four locations setting off fireworks to the south of where I was and some to the east. So I had many pretty fireworks to view without the loud noise or the smokey smell.

Maybe you should put up some No Smoking signs! Unless you smoke. Then it would be unhandy. Sounds like a nice 4th of July. Good animal compadres!

Nope, never smoked in my life. Hee, hee. That’s why the goats like to smell my breath – to make sure I don’t start.
