The Fog Of Where

It’s that time of year again. When I complain about the cold. It’s 10C/50F and my fingers are frozen. Booh. Guess it’s time for handwarmers. And 16 layers of clothes. Oh well. Summer is only… 8 months away. Sigh.

We had a nice foggy day, though. As seen in photos below. A moody atmosphere. Other than that it’s been mostly grey and a bit of rain. The goats are less and less excited about the grass. It’s not summer fresh anymore. But then at least there are fallen leaves to go for instead.

We’ve had some fun visitors too. First a couple of Somali girls who came into the pen and said hello to the goats. Especially Mio who is always the calm and sweet one with kids. And then yesterday a bunch of kids who delighted in feeding the goats at the fence. It’s always fun helping kids to have fun with the goats. And answering questions. I must have told them the goats’ names about a hundred times. Hah.

Peanut has become quite the breakout kid. Not surprising. Everything still comes easy to him. He’s jumping over all the fences inside. Half the time when I arrive in the morning I find him in the bunny compartment. He just jumps over the door. Probably to steal their food. He’s calmer now after the snippening, but still full of personality and energy. Duking it out with Palle often. A lot more respect for Mio now, though. She’s back to being the big boss.

Now I’m off to hibernate. Go go goat photos. First fog, though.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the new one.

The days of the deep blue skies and fluffy clouds are at an end. Your fog photos are really pretty. Looks like some of your trees are starting to change color.

Our trees are just starting to turn a bit yellow and some red color, too. We have had some cool weather for a few days, but then it really warmed up today.

Farmers are in the fields harvesting soybeans and corn right now. Any time a stray corn husk comes thru the fence, it is gobbled up by Billy or John Boy. It took Snickers awhile to acquire the taste for corn husks.

I always imagine they must be crunchy – maybe like potato chips? Although I’ve never tried eating one. Hee, hee! The goats make hay look pretty tasty the way they go after it some days.

It’s fall, and to me it feels like winter! Brrr. Hmm corn husks. Maybe I should see if our goaties would want one of those. I’m gonna need to get them a pumpkin for halloween too. I almost got one last month because I was under the illusion that Halloween was in September. Go figure!

Silly goat boy! Halloween is at the end of October or that’s when we celebrate it.

I’ve never given our animals a pumpkin to eat. I’m sure they would want me to make a pie out of it and bake it for them and add ice cream.

No, that’s my husband I’m thinking of! Hee, hee. He’ll eat about any kind of fruit pie except for cream pies.

Haha. Our guys enjoy pumpkin. I give them some pumpkin seeds every morning because I heard it’s a natural dewormer. Can’t hurt. They like ’em!
