Summerjune

Summertime, and the livin’ is breezy. We’ve had some hot hot days. Almost too much. But enjoyable. Lots of time grazing with the goats (they do the grazing, I just watch) and then siesta in the pen with everyone tired in the heat. Lots of sweetness. Good exercise too. I’m glad it’s summer. Keep on trucking.

I’ve been spending quite a bit of time with grandma Mio. Because she’s been ousted from the leadership position at the playground. Palle has taken over. He’s the new king. It’s bizarre to watch. He’s literally chasing her away now. For a while I noticed he wasn’t scared of her anymore. But now she’s scared of him! I never thought I’d see the day. I can’t help feeling a little bad for her. First losing her kids, and now being dethroned. But such is goat hierarchy. Adopt, adapt and graze.

Oh, and Mia’s page reached 5000 followers.

Not too bad for a humble, Danish goat. I’m just the camera-holder, of course.

And videos.

And that’s all for this week, folks. See you in the next one.

Sure can see why they use goats to clear brush and weedy fields. Your sepia goats are really going at that tree limb. Dear little weed whackers without all the noise of an electric or gasoline powered weed trimmer. And the goats will fertilize your weedy field for free!

I was combing the boys and donkey yesterday afternoon. Snickers is shedding her winter coat. Lots and lots of donkey hair for all the tiny birdies to make nice soft nests for their young.

Billy has lost his dark hair on the bridge of his nose between his eyes. He looks like his baby pictures now with a whiter area between the two stripes by his eyes. John Boy looks the same, he doesn’t change color at all.

I had two dozen hungry hummingbirds when we came home late tonight after work. First thing I did was to fill the feeders – then there was a feeding frenzy. I am so glad they are not the size of sharks!

On Mia’s blog – Fuzzy needs to enter the Olympic Picnic Table Long Jump competition! He was really wound up running around the area, then hops on to the picnic table, then that cool jump from one table to the next.

I wish I had that much energy! Hee, hee.

Thank goat for the animals! Don’t know where we’d be without them
