So. Good goat times today! And a visitor from Australia. If you know me and my phobias you’ll know this was a challenging day for me. But I’m happy with how it went. It went better than I could have hoped for. Now, I have no idea how Lisa experienced it. I hope it was okay for her too. I actually talked more than I had thought I would. Of course that’s still only about 10% of what a normal human being would have said. But hey, I did my best. That’s how I calmed myself beforehand too. I told myself that I’d just do my best and that’d have to be good enough and if it wasn’t good enough then… well blame Lisa, she’s the one who decided to come here! Trying to take the pressure off. But Lisa was really great. Easy to be around. She made it easier on me anyhow. And I think she was happy meeting the goats. I’m not gonna lie, it was kinda fun to be showing off my little herd to someone from the ‘real world’. Like being a celebrity. Or… being the guy who feeds celebrities. And I think they liked Lisa too. She brought tomatoes and apples from the place she’s staying. That’s how you get in good with goats. She got to say hi to the horses too. And there were some little kids who got to pet the goaties while we were there too. Good times. I did sort of abandon Lisa a little at the end. She went for a smoking break and I sat with Mia and Mio. And Mia was just almost falling asleep with her head in my lap and I didn’t have the heart to disturb her. So Lisa had to entertain herself for a little. Sorry!
She also had some gifts for me. Australian coasters and a keyring. And vegemite. Which I’m pretty sure I’ve never tasted in my life, but I’ve heard of. That’ll be interesting.
It’s always good when things you’re terrified of turn out to be good in the end. Thank you Lisa Edwards. I hope the goats lived up to their promises and made the trip worthwhile. I do believe this is the first non-Danish person from the intarwebs that I have ever met in person, not counting my ex-girlfriend.

I feel blessed to know you all. Good kind people all over the world, I need to hang on to that when it seems like the whole world has gone mad. And I am so thankful to have this whole.. goat thing. These wonderful, amazing creatures that have helped connect me to so many beautiful souls. I really wish I could meet every single one of you. Even if it would take me 70 years because I’d have to take lots of breaks to hide away. Socializing is draining haha. Anyway. I just feel a lot of love, from you all. And that’s… pretty neat. I wanna say I feel like I don’t deserve it, but then you’d all get mad at me and chase me around with giant cartoon hammers.

Good goat times today. And good Lisa times! Her second trip with me to the goat yard. We weren’t so lucky with the weather today. Grey and rainy. Not my kind of weather. Maybe I am a goat after all.
When we got to the playground Finbarr was just finishing up the breakfast for the animals. Lisa had a little chat with him. He’s from Ireland, so they had some common ground there. He let the horses out and then we let the goats out. And by let the goats out I mean let A38 and then Mia and Mio stayed inside where it was dry. So Lisa and I spent most of the time inside with them. They were munching on A38’s leftover hay. And all the goodies Lisa brought. She even brought some vegemite for the goats to try. Mia gave it a go and seemed to like it ok, if not thrilled about it. Mio on the other hand.. got a taste and.. spent five minutes rubbing her mouth on the wall trying to get the taste out. Aw haha. Poor girl. I have tried some of the vegemite that Lisa gave me too and I have to say I’m on Mio’s side here. It’s an acquired taste, and I don’t think I’m going to acquire it. But we gave it a shot! And Mio forgave Lisa after a few of the apples she brought from the airbnb she’s staying at.
Lisa also got to say hi to Mousy, which I know was something she had wanted. So that was nice. And after some convincing she managed to get smoochies from Mia. Later on the rain let up a little and we went out and made sure A38 got a fair share of the goodies. And then Lisa said her goodbyes and headed home. I spent a while longer sitting in the shelter with Mia and Mio, listening to the rain. With the occasional trip to the barn door to give A38 some attention and treats.
Good times. And it was much easier for me today. Just knowing what to expect with Lisa. There was less terror and in fact I was able to look forward to it and enjoy it. The unknown is always scarier. I think it went okay today too. I mean, I did my best and I hope it was good enough. I enjoyed spending time with Lisa and I think she enjoyed meeting all the animals that she has followed here on the Facebox for years. It’s been fun for me to get an outside perspective. Reminds me to appreciate what I have. I saw Lisa describing on Facebook how Mia was never more than 2 feet away from me. You get to take things a little for granted after a while, I mean Mia has practically been attached to my hip since she was born 5 years ago. It’s good to remember to be thankful for this thing I have with these goats. It’s a beautiful thing and it helps me a lot and adds a lot to my life. And as Lisa also said when we were talking, it’s amazing all the good people we are connected to through the goats.
So yeah, that was Lisa 2nd and last goat trip with us. I’m not going to lie, it did cause me quite a bit of anxiety and worry in the time leading up to it. But I’m really glad she visited us.

Hey people with Pages on the Facebox. Is there a way to view your own page as the public sees it? On my own profile I can find a “view as..” option, but I can’t find that on Mia’s page. I feel like there used to be that, but maybe I’m remembering it wrong. Or maybe I can’t find it because I’m blind. Or something. Anyone know of a way to do that on your own page?
