The President of the United States of America called up a secretary of state and tried to pressure him into just.. you know.. saying he got more votes than what THREE seperate counts of the state had shown him to get. What’s going on in America is fucking nuts. It’s deplorable and immoral and insane. I can’t fucking believe this is real life.
Meanwhile there was another mass shooting again, but I don’t know if the shooters were white or brown so I don’t know if it’s terrorism or an audition for a MyPillow sponsorship.
Fuck you if you’re supporting Donald Trump. He’s a piece of shit and you need to start finding a way to live what you preach.
At least I made it 4 days into 2021 before I had to vent about politics.

Hearing Kevin Smith talk about Ted Lasso makes me want to rewatch season 1 again. Seriously, if I could tell you to watch one new show from 2020 it would be Ted Lasso. Whenever I hear people talk about it, it’s always in glowing words. Even people like me who expected to not like it. Even people who hate soccer. It’s not a show about soccer. It’s a beautiful, charming and uplifting show. And I challenge anyone who disagrees to a pillow fight!

You know, sometimes people ask me why I care so much about what goes on in America.
Apart from the whole ‘having a heart and caring about about more than your immediate next-door neighbours*, there is also the fact that American politics and news influences Denmark. When America withdraws from climate agreements, you know Denmark is in the climate too. And people here read and watch American news. A prominent Danish politician recently used the ‘drain the swamp’ slogan. And all the rhetoric about not letting the government oppress you by making you wear masks and shutting down stores and social distancing and all that… that stuff reaches Denmark too. There’s a seizeable group of people who listen to that stuff. And believe it. And maybe that’s why things are getting worrisome in Denmark now. Our hospitals are under pressure. People are dying. We just escalated to level 5, the highest level of.. levelness. New restrictions. Although most of them are still ‘recommendations’, not legal obligations. But it might be watershed moment. We’ll start to see the nnumbers for the holiday infections soon. We have cases of the new UK variant that is more contagious. And still we have people demonstrating because they can’t get a haircut and they don’t want to wear masks.
Not that I’m blaming all that on America. But we got this social media bubble as well. People who think that everything they hear on mainstream media is a lie, and everything they read on the internet (a lot of which originates in the American ecosystem) is truth.
The time when it took stuff 6 months to a year to get from America to Denmark is long gone. The media, social and otherwise, is here instantly. I wonder what’s going to happen in our next election? Are we going to get this forking insanity too? Where the losers just refuse to accept the results? I can’t imagine that happening in Denmark. But who forking knows anymore.
Anyway. Sorry. Had to get that all off my chest. I sincerely apologise if you read all that. Please accept this tin foil origami swan as a compensation.

It really is flabbergasting how completely broken the American democracy is. And flabbergasting that people who claim to be patriotic care so little about how one single man has completely tanked their country’s standing and esteem, in the parts of the world where we’re usually very pro-American.
You know what, I think the democrats should go on an pack the supreme court now. With the Garland/Barrett things it has been shown that there IS no morality or ethics or traditions or decorum or anything when it comes to scotus. You fudged the process so don’t blame the opposition for making brownies. Pack the shirt out of the courts. And then when the repubs get in power they can pack it. And then you can end up with a supreme court of thousands of justices and the weight of the ridiculous lifetime appointment system will collapse in on itself and go supernova and maybe you can catch up to the rest of the civilized world and get a working system. Get rid of lifetime scotusses, get rid of electoral college, get rid of presidential pardoning powers, get rid of insane gerrymandering.
I will take my consulting fee in peanuts and raisins thank you.

Hah, saw a story saying that Pence backstabbed Trump. I love how quick Trumpers are to turn their back on anyone who doesn’t tell them what they want to hear or do what they want done. The minute Fox News projects Biden winning, they are fake news. The minute (much too late) that Pence and McConnell accepted Biden’s win they were traitors.

Funny, now there are people saying it’s not really Trump supporters doing this. It’s fascinating how such a large group has been trained to think that if the news are coming from CNN or MSNBC then it’s automatically lies, but if it’s a picture someone posted on Facebook then it’s definitely proof of ‘that thing I want to be true’.
At least this is a good chance to thin out the friendlist a bit. I’ve been thinking about downsizing my personal fb, why do I need to be friends with a bunch of people I never talk to anyway? I just don’t like unfriending people. Even people with difering political views. But I guess people I don’t talk to who support civil unrest.. I guess I shouldn’t feel guilty parting ways with those.

Good goat times today. I’m glad I made it out, despite the temptation to sit and refresh twitter every 30 seconds to see what fresh hell hath awoketh. Much better to be out in the real world, amongst my goat people.
It snow though. Yes, it snow. Not a huge amount. Not enough to freeze over the mud. So… just kinda cold and wet. And slippery. Not great. I think it will be gone very quickly again. But count this as a snow day with gaots. That’s one more than I had all last winter.
The goats were naturally not too amused wit with the cold, white, wet, slippery stuff. But at least they got tretas. And I got some lapgoat time with Milo, Sky and Nuller. Not at the same time, obviously. But still good. And I managed to go for a walk around the pen with the newbs. Even Sassy. I was surprised she followed me around in the snow. She usually just plain refuses anything wet and muddy. But maybe the snow tricked her. Or maybe she was really hungry for treats.
And I didn’t fall once. We’ll see how long that lasts.

Hey hey hey! Look what I done gone! Thank you so much Deborah Ladd ! It’s wonderful. It got lost in the mail for a while. But luckily the day before I was going to call the postal service to complain, I checked the tracking number one last time and suddenly it worked. And it’s lovely. It’s really tragic that people died during that coup attempt. A policeman. A former Air Force member. Three others. Died. For what? What did they think was going to happen? Did they think they were going to take over the American govenrment? Stop the American president from becoming president? It’s so senseless.
Remember when the Arizona GOP retweeted a guy saying he was willing to die to stop the steal and asked “are you?”. They literally encouraged people dying for Trump. Insane.
And imagine if Trump had won the election and blm had stormed the capitol stop it. Imagine what Fox News or NewsMax would have said to that? They would have taken that as a literal declaration of war on America. Literal. Nuts.
My favourite thing about the crackpot theory of antifa dressed up as Trump supporters being behind this is that it would mean Trump said “I feel your pain and I love you” to antifa.
Also gotta laugh at Trump saying his was the best first term ever. Jesus. Even if you believe he did great, how can you not laugh at that? The people who are actually the best don’t need to constantly proclaim themselves being the best. Holy inferiority complex, Batman. Doesn’t the bible teach humility?

When the goats came to the fence yesterday, Lily was a little late. She didn’t want to go out in the snow. When she finally did come out, some visitors that were at the fence too said “oh here comes the baby”. It’s official. Nuller has grown so big that people think his mama is the baby and he’s the grownup. Lily is a little one.

Pretty rich calling for unity now. Sure, now that you’vr lost you want to come together and heal. They beat a cop to death with a fire extinguisher. Trump won’t even lower the White House flag for him.
How about, you get the Supreme justices appointed by Trump to resign and have their seats filled by Biden, then we can all come together and heal in unity and be best.

But really, you gotta impeach Trump. You gotta take him out of the running if you want unity. If he’s allowed to be a potential candidate for 2024 then we’ll have four years of Qanon and NewsMax talking about how he’s going to come and save America from communism.
Lindsey Graham was right. Picking Trump destroyed the party. Now you need to take him out of the equation and rebuild. Get him impeached and removed, even if it’s with one day left of his term. Get him out. I know a lot of good Republicans, I know you can do better than him. Better than nazis murdering cops in your capitol. According to what I read on twitter (which may or may not be true, I grant you that) the intruders came very close to getting at the congrass people. We’ve all seen the pictures of the guy with the zipe ties. They have been and may still be openly talking about murdering cops and government peopel on parler. This coup attempt was not nothing, it was close to a castastrophical blood bath. And in any case, it was a big deal. Seeing participants laughing on camera about it is so jarring. Lollol we stormed the capitol. Jesus. Literally, what would Jesus do?
There will never be peace and unity as long as you have Trump empowering the very worst people. Get him the fuck out.
On a side note, I got unfriended by someone with the message “You commie. Thanks for ruining my country by supporting Communism!”. Haha. I did not know I had the power in me to ruin America, but trust me I do not take this responsibility lightly! I’ll do my best to make America goat again.

It looks like I may have passed the authorization test thing on Mia’s page. The banner saying I need to be authorized is gone. Looks like I will be able to keep using the page. That sure bwould be nice. I already created the group I would have used if I lost the page, but it just isn’t the same. Mia’s page has been a huge part of my life for the last 8 years. I am almost sad that I unfriended everyone I saw cheering on the violent coup attempt. Because I’d really rather like to see what they’re saying now. If they’re still cheering for it.
