Speaking of Omikron and David Bowie.. did you know that David Bowie was involved with a computer game called Omikron; The Nomad Soul? I remember being fascinated by it, but I never got to play it because it came out during the time when I fell away from the world. Also I believe it was a bit of a buggy mess and too ambitious for the technical capabilities of the time. But it sounded fascinating. You could travel to this world and you could meet David in the game. An open world to explore. I always loved the games where the fiction was that you played yourself, that you were the one traveling to other worlds. You weren’t playing Mario or Sonic, you were playing yourself traveling to another world and exploring it. My favourite game series Ultima was like that. They had the player traveling through moongates to another world. Mmm. Open world roleplaying games, that’s the stuff. I always loved the idea of just going and exploring a world. Not some dumb ‘go kill the evil demon’ quest. Just go to another world and explore. That’s what the best movies, books and games do in a way. Let you travel to other worlds. Nevernding stories.
Anyway, I’ll shut up now. I wish I could have visited Omikron and said hi to David. Maybe he’s in there still. Hanging out.

Well I just got some sad news. My uncle Jens, my father’s brother, has passed away. Although he was in a bad state for quite a while so it’s one of those cases where it’s kind of for the better that he’s at peace. He was suffering from Alzheimers I believe. So bad that he’d barely react or recognise my dad when he visited him. Just existing without living, at that point. And they decided to take him off the treatment he was getting, and not long after that he passed.
I haven’t seen him myself in many years. That part of the family lives on Zealand and we live on the mainland. And obviously I am not the traveling or socializing type anymore. When I was younger we’d go visit from time to time, holidays and such. He was always very nice and kind and funny. I remember when I started losing my eyesight, he came over to help us fo a week or so. We found this acupuncture clinic that could possibly help, but there was a long drive back and forth and my dad no longer had a car by then. So Jens came over to our ‘side’ of the country and drove me back and forth for the treatments. They helped a bit at the time, although obviously didn’t fix me in the long run. But I always thought it was very kind and generous of Jens to come and help us out like that. He always seemed like a good man. And I sometimes wish I could go back and see my dad and him browing up. A completely different world back then. Anyway. Time only moves in one direction and we all have to get off the conveyor belt some day. And who knows what comes after that.
Rest in peace, Jens.

Good goat times today. Good to get out and get some goat therapy. A frosty morning. I almost slipped on icy pavement a couple of times. Thankfully there was barely and wind which made it comfortable enough to be out. Even though I had to break the icelayer out of the goats’ water bucket.
Got good kittytime too. I met both Nala and Heino in the morning, that doesn’t happen often. So we meowed a little. The kitties had drama later on though. First I think one of them tried to catch one of the hooded magpiecrows. It flew away, but the goats were a little perturbed that there was hunting going on in their pen. Later was worse though. Suddenly a dog came running fullspeed and barking, chasing one of the cats. I’m not sure if it was Heino or Nala. I guess some guy was out walking his dog on the path past the goat pen, without having it on a leash. I don’t think you’re supposed to do that. Well, the cat was too fast for the dog, thankfully. The goats were pretty scared though. The chase went right along their fence. They already don’t like dogs. For a second I was little worried if the dog was dangerous and might try to get into the goat pen. But it had no interest in that and the owner called it back and they walked on. But the goats needed extra treats to get over that. And the cats weren’t seen anymore that day.
Other than that it was just a lot of sweet relaxing. Among goats that are blissfully unaware of the stress and commotion of the holidays. All they worry about is whether the human brings enough treats. And he always does.

Milo’s already waiting at the tripod. As soon as I get the camera set up he can start getting in the way and ruining my shot. He is nothing if not dedicated to his craft.

Merry christmess greetings to those of you celebrating today. Hope you have a jolly good time. And if you’re not celebrating then I hope you have a perfectly adequate day of judging those who are wearing silly hats.

Hey, hey, hey! I got a selection of christmas cards, most of them the day before christmas. Sorry it took a while to take photos. But I want to give my sincerest thanks to Debbie Wilkins + Kathleen Murphy + Janet Duke + Deb & Sam from Iowa and my family for the cards and to Cyd Burk for the art and Keï Ko Moorakami for the drawing today that you can see on my timeline I think! Thank you everyone for thinking of me! It hasn’t been the best of christmasses, with my uncle Jens passing and some other stuff I don’t really want to go into. But I am thankful for the friends I have around the world and the love you show me. Every day I appreciate that there are people who care about me. Thank yous!

Lasse,
So sorry to hear about your Uncle Jens. I remember when he came to help you out all those years ago. He seemed like a really nice guy and such an unselfish thing for him to do for you.
To be able to give the gift of time and help to you was a remarkable thing for your uncle to do.
If I remember right, he was having some problems in his life at one time and you and your family had him come for a holiday visit – maybe one Christmas?
Alzheimer’s is a hard disease for families, too. Please pass along our condolences to your parents and brother.

Thank you Deb and Sam. It was a hard way to go for him, I don’t wish that on anyone. Hopefully he is at peace now.
