This is a new thing Mia has started doing. I keep my backpack in the hayholder on the other side of the wall. And when I got to the backpack to get some snacks for the goats Mia will come over and jump up against the wall and put her head over like that, hoping to get a headstart on the snacks.
And then sometimes I’m just going to get fresh batteries for my camera and it’s a terrible disappointment for everyone involved.

Good x-ray times today. My doc wanted me to get followup xrays done of my chest. Since there was a thing on the last ones, you just want to keep an eye on how that develops. The little part of the lung tissue that had collapsed. So we’ll see what the new ones say. But in general I’m feeling much better than the end ofl last year. Not in the best shape, but I don’t get immediately exhausted and out of breath whenever I do anything. So whatever caused it, I’m sure that lung thing was what was the problem.
Now I just need to get in better shape. I had started exercising a bit again but then stopped because.. depression? Let’s blame depression. But I gotta get back to that. Back on the exercise bike. Hopefully the weather will get warmer soon and I can do springtime goating. Get better control of my diet. 2022 will be the best year yet, apart from the pandemic and world war 3 and NFTs. Here we go. The summer of Lasse!

Good goat times today. What an absolutely beautiful day. Lots of sunshine. But still cold. Kind of funny actually. There was frost on the grass and blue skies above. Temperatures just around 0 degrees in the morning. As the sun shone on it got a little warmer and so nice that I actually ended up opening my winter coat and leaving it open. But I did have both a blouse and a shirt underneath, so I was still layered. Frosty beautiful day. It really felt like a taster for spring. Lazy goats sitting around in the sun. Lots of yawning. Mia snoring in the sun, haven’t heard that since last year. I love when they get lazy and tired in the sun and just want to sit around and do nothing. Feels good man.
The morning was considerably more active though. Sassy was all over the place. Normally Lily is the one being silly, but today it was Sassy. I noticed it first when her tail kept wagging when I gave her treats. She doesn’t usually do that, at least not that much. I thought maybe she was just hungry, but then she started going after Mia. Poor Mia. Whinnying her complaints as Sassy kept trying to sniff her rear and under her and just following her around. They were butting heads and Mia tried to get away. Eventually she got up on the big water bucket thing to get away from Sassy. Sassy proceeded to ride Nuller around like a lawnmower for a bit. Sheesh. Have some decorum, old gal! Hard not to laugh, though. I don’t mean to be mean, but that whinny sound Mia makes just cracks me up. One of the only times she uses it is when when of the other goats are in heat and start sniffing at her. It’s a very different sound from her normal bleats or growls when they try to get her food.
Yes, quite a day. Several groups of visitors at the fence too. Now I just need the temperatures to start going up too.

What would you guys call that water bucket she’s standing on? It’s way bigger than their regular water buckets. But I’m not sure there’s a specific name for it. I grabbed it out of the horse field since well.. no horses using it.

I tell you hwat. I am super tired, though. Such a beautiful sunny day. But I am wiped. I was up all last night. I hadn’t really planned to go goating today. I’m glad I did, because of that glorious day. But yeah I was tired and my back was killing me from the morning already. And then I stayed out with the goats longer than I have in a long time because I was just enjoying the sun and lazy goats so much. Not complaining about that. But yeah, even more tired and achey on my way home. And then I went shopping. And as I’ve mentioned I’m trying to turn my diet around and get healthier. So I had to buy a bunch of fruits and vegetables and other stuff and of course my mandatory supply of Pepsi Max. So I was dragging two heavy plastic bags and a heavy backpack on my back home from the supermarket. Thankfully it’s about a 5-7 minute walk. But still, I had to collapse on my back bent over a chair to try to straighten out some of the pain in my back. I’ve had some painkillers and done some stretching so I’m starting to feel better. But still very tired and an aching body. Hopefully I’ll be able to start getting in better shape and that will help things along too. I’m going to miss cake though.

Did you know that pouring Pepsi Max Lime into a tub of Ben & Jerry Caramel Chew Chew is frigging delish?
I had a BJ in the freezer, wait that came out wrong. You know what I mean. I didn’t want to just throw it out even though I have to start some cleaner living. So I thought since I’m kinda aching all over, I’d spoil myself with the last of the iced cream. And I decided to pour some of my Pepsi Max Lime into it and mix it up and mmm it’s like cream soda. I guess. I don’t really know what cream soda is. But ice cream soda is good. Too bad I can’t have anymore now!
But thank goodness there’s no sugar or calories in Pepsi Max. I don’t know if I could live without that stuff.

The tub is good for other things than avoiding Sassy I guess.
Mia has really taken a liking to it. Maybe it’s because I gave her treats a few times while she was up on it. Or maybe it’s just the natural instinct of a goat to climb everything. But she really likes getting up on it. I usually just use it to put my camera on. Today a couple of times I wanted to film me and Mia sitting on the bench. So I put the tub down and put the camera on it and start recording and go and sit on the bench and wait for Mia to come over and join me, as she’d usually do. But both time she just RUDELY ignored me and instead just jumped up on the tub and practically stood on the camera.
And then later, as pictured, she actually sat on it. Which surprised me. Not much room there. But we know, if goats fit they sits. And they seem to like the restricted places. Or, confined spaces I should say. Not that it’s confined, but it’s just a smaller place seperated from everything else. Anyway. Mia was actually sitting on the bench and I was sitting on the tub and had the camera (placed on the shelter roof) filming. I got up to get the camera. And Mia got up from the bench and clambered over the handrest of the bench and got on the tub. And sthen started the ‘pawing the ground’ they do before sitting down. And she did it for a while and I didn’t think she’d be able to get comfortable on that thing. But eventually she did find a good groove and sat down. Yeah she really likes that thing. sorry for the rambles. I think it’s bed tim.

Highlights from another series of mishaps from yesterday. I wanted to get some pics of Mia and me on the bench. After finally getting her off the tub and onto the bench with me. So I set up the self timer. I always have it set to take 3 pics in quick succesion. I did it like 5 times, so that adds up to about 15 pictures of me .. Mia ..and various degrees of Milo getting into the shot. Every time I’d try to shoo him away and then I’d set the self timer and sit down with Mia.. and then he immediately got back in the shot. And you know once you’ve set the self timer there’s no point in getting up and trying to get him out of the shot because then the camera will just go off just as you’re standing up and the shot is ruined anyway. Haha. Milo is an expert at ruining photos and videos.
Well, not that they’re ruined. It’s just sometimes i’d like a photo without 3/4ths of a Milo.
