Starshot
Good goat times today. A cold morning. Had my jacket on, but I still got cold as the day wore on. May be time for longer shirts or blouses. I said to Jeanette I said “well now it’s 6 months until it starts getting warm again” and she went “Oh Lasse, don’t”. Haha. She was complaining about the cold too.
We had company of Jesper handyman all day today. Working on laying out the pavement tiles. Not just laying them down, he’s trying to make sure it’s all level because the hill is apparently quite crooked.
Of course he had some nosy goats ‘helping’ him. I tried to get them away so they didn’t get in his way too much. We had some nice chitter chatter, I don’t feel as comfy talking to him as Jeanette, but pretty good and he’s quite nice. Visiting kids today too. The newfeathers came into the goat pen again, but again just walking along the fence and pretty much walking right back out. Not mingling with the goats yet.
Nearly had a disaster today. I forgot my camera when I left. Whoopsie. I usually put it up on a shelf above the hayrack when I stretch after I arrive and before I leave. And I forgot to bring it with me. Didn’t realise until I was packing my groceries after shopping. Then I thought “hmm why is my camera box so light..”. Oh dear. So instead of heading home with my shopping I had to head back to the playground. I’m sure the goats were confused to see me, they were all on the platform together. First time i’ve come back after leaving them. I was only gone for about 30-45 minutes. And the camera was on the shelf in the dark in the goat house, so it’s not like there was a big chance someone would have found and nabbed it. And it was there just fine. No problem. Other than having to lug my groceries around for twice as long as normal. Of course on the day I decided to buy blubbery sodas. I found a new sugarfree soda, blueberry flavour. It’s pretty good, and my selection is so limited because I can only get the sugarfree ones. So I bought a 6 pack of half litre bottles of that. Along with a couple of squash ones. And then potatoes and carrots and other goods.
I deserve some soup now.

Morning view. And it was the same when I returned after forgetting my camera later in the day. Seems like Luna just likes standing like that on the steep ramp. “What, I’m totally comfortable”.

The goats weren’t the only ones helping Jesper. Henrietta Solo and Red Sonja got quite involved too. Jesper couldn’t quite figure out why they were so eager to get in his way. Until he realised “they eat worms, don’t they?”. Yeah there was a lot of interference with his work!

Good goat times today. Getting colder and colder, though. Down around 7C/44F in the morning. That is uncomfortable for me. Started freezing after a few hours of sitting around. I did warm up a little when I ran around with the goats, got Sky to do some twirls on the mountain and zooms around. That was good to see. I miss her and Milo speeding around on the mountain. Sigh. But yes, it might be time to start layering up. A lnogsleeve shirt and a t-shirt under the jacket. I get too cold too easily.
The goat running was fun though and we had nice visitors, as we usually do these days. Red Sonja made me laugh when she came running as fast as she could and started pecking at the cucumber in my hand while I was feeding it to the goats. Normally she just grabs stuff that falls, or I throw, on the ground. But here she was like a fourth goat during the feeding frenzy. She’s a hoot.

Morning view from today. Hey look, I guess Luna doesn’t always want to stand on the ramp all the time. Haha. Well, it is good to see them all together again. And I’m glad Luna doesn’t spend ALL her time perched on the ramp.

Now that I have to wear a jacket, it will be interesting to see how long the zippers survive. The kids are predictably obsessed with trying to eat them. METAL DOESNT TASTE GOOD. The same way Luna will. Not. Stop. trying to eat my blind badge. Whenever I pick her up so her head is on my shoulder she acts like me when my head is near a pizza box. I MUST HAVE IT ALL IN MY MOUF RIGHT NOU.

Got my monthly deliver of Pepsi this morning. Along with some other goods. I am really happy I started doing this. The delivery site had a sale on butter, so now I don’t have to buy butter the next month… hope it keeps long enough. Got sugarfree red and green soda too, along with the blubbery blue I bought in the grocery store. One of the things I missed when I had to stop drinking sugary sodas was the colourful ones. Pepsi Max keeps me going, but I always liked the brightly coloured sodas too. Nice to have some of those again. I don’t have drinking problem YOU HAVE A DRINKING PROBLEm I’m fine hiccup.

Thank you for subscribing to my Indiana Jones blog. Here is the final update.
I watche the two last movies. As I had suspected I liked Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull a lot more on my second viewing. Just watching it in proper quality obviously makes a big difference. It’s a pretty fun adventure. It’s got some nice archaeologist Sherlock Holmes stuff. I don’t personally mind the interdimensional alien thing, in fact that sort of thing interests me more than religious artefact stuff. I know a lot of people have isseus with the fridge thing, but eh I don’t mind that either. It’s certainly no worse than jumping out of a plane on an inflatable boat and rafting straight into an unlikely plot. There is stuff I don’t like, and it’s kind of the same as with Dial of Destiny. There are characters that are kind of annoying, and there are characters introduced who we’re told are important to Indy’s life, but I just don’t.. feel it. It’s kind of inevitable given the long breaks between the last movies. There’s a lot of history that you don’t get to see you just get to be told and then you have to accept that. Like McHale and Shaw. I just.. don’t feel it completely. I wish Brody could have been there, I loved Brody. At least we got a nice nod to Brody and Henry Senior. But yeah, there’s some of the implied history that just doesn’t quite land for me.
And then there’s Mutt. And honestly I’m not sure if I dislike the character or if it’s just because it’s Labeef. I can’t shake the prejudice against him.
And then there’s a problem I have with almost all the movies, and it’s due to my bad eyesight. They all have these highspeed action chase sequences. And it’s just not great for me, because I can’t keep up. I think the mine cart sequence is one of people’s favourite scenes in Temple Of Doom, but for me it’s just a blur. You could cut most of that stuff out oft alpl these movies (except Raiders, Raiders is perfect) and I’d enjoy them more. But I know that’s not really a fair criticism.
But all in all I enjoyed Skull to a fair degree, don’t quote me on that out of context. Not as good as the original trilogy, but not as bad as its reputation. And I have seen a lot of people say that recently, so maybe its reputation isn’t actually that bad. People just can’t let go of the fridge.
And then Dial of Destiny. And my feeling about that one is.. about almost the same as Crystal Skull. Except probably a little worse. It’s got the same problems of characters and action sequences. But it’s got some fun stuff too. And there’s just a joy to seeing Indy, because I love that character so much. Getting to see him again was a treat and I appreciate it. I don’t mind seeing him kind of old and broken. Just like I didn’t mind seeing Luke old and broken in The Last Jedi. I would rather see them in their prime, but when you make the movies so much later after the originals, I find it almost more interesting to see tehm slightly failed instead of just having fulfilled all potential and being succesful in all they’ve done.
I loved the first flashback scenes with younger Indy though. Deaged Ford worked for me. I’d take a whole movie of deaged Ford just having more adventures.
It was fun seeing another Mikkelsen. Our Mikkelsens get around.
I could have used some more fun and adventure, some more archaologist detective work. Loved the ending, loved seeing Sallah.
All in all I had a good time, but it is my least favourite of the movies. My ranking goes; Raiders, Crusade, Temple, Skull, Dial. And you could slot the Fate Of Atlantis adventure game in around Temple too if you wanted.
So that was my Indy journey. I’m happy I went on the nostalgia trip, and watched the new one. For years I haven’t really been watching movies. I’d like to do more of this. There are several other franchises that have new movies out in recent years that I haven’t watched. Ghostbusters Afterlife. The Matrix Ressurections. Terminator Dark Fate. Several Jurassic Park movies. Clerks 3. I want to go back and watch the old ones and then the new ones. I want to watch Conan movie with Momoa too, even if the reviews were awful. But first watch the two first Arnie ones. It’s a fun thing to watch the old stuff you love in preparation for the new chapters.
It’s something to do.
No more cosplays though.

I didn’t just get pepsi and groceries delivered today, also got pizza delivered. The new place uses a delivery platform where you can follow the delivery guy via gps. I like that. Even when it’s something good that’s being delivered, my anxieties always kick in when i’m expecting someone to come to my apartment. Being able to keep track and see exactly when they’ll be here helps with that. And it also tells you the name of the delivery person. Guess who delivered to me today? .. Lasse! Haha. I was half expecting a clone to show up at my door with a pizza. Unfortunately, it was not a close. Just another nice Lasse. It did make me think about how fun it would be if I had a clone army bringing me food every day. I wonder if Kamino delivers…

Checking out the work-in-progress. I’m a little surprised by the gaps between the tiles, but hey I’m not path expert. I can just imagine the goats jumping from tile to tile.

Good goat times today. Tiny bit warmer, with some sunshine. Nice to sit in the sun with the goats for a bit. I got warmed up by doing some goat exercise too. The kids started running around and I thought maybe I could get them all worked up so I ran around with them for a bit. And it worked, they started sprinting around. Lots of fun. Sky was sprinting up the hill at the goat house and went so fast that she kinda skidded along on her knees. I almost felt bad for laughing at her. But she was fine, just her dignity bruised a little. It’s hard to keep up with the yungins!
Jesper continued his work laying out the tiles, and we had visitors feeding and petting the goats again. The kids got to go on an egg hunt too, Sonja and Henrietta had layed several treats in the goat house. One egg was smashed though. Not sure how that happened. Certainly not pointing fingers at anyone. LUNA. Ahem. She’s still after the feathers when they come near her soemtimes. Sometimes I’ll sit with her on my lap and one of the feathers will pass by us on the ground below and she’ll swing her head like she’s trying to hit them down on the ground. Oh dear. She leaves them alone most of the time though. And they clearly know to be careful around her. While with Sky they can literally eat from the same food bowl as her in the morning. No danger from her.

Visitors today. The lady there with Jeanette comes by often with her kids, not sure if she’s a teacher at the school or if she’s a daycare or other sort of thing. But she’s really nice, she laughs a lot and likes the animals and taking the kids in to see them. Nice to see Sky getting some love there too. She will often hang back and stay with me, while Bella and Luna will immediately run to the visitors because they’re eager to get the carrot snacks that Jeanette prepares for visitors to hand out. Sky isn’t so eager for that. Jeanette will usually come over and see if she wants some, sometimes she’ll take some, sometimes not. Carrots aren’t her favourite snack.

“Are you troubled by strange noises in the middle of the night? Do you experience feelings of dread in your basement or attic? Have you or any of your family ever seen a spook, spectre ot ghost?” If the answer is yes, then I’m watching Ghostbusters on Friday The 13th. Who ya gonna call? PIZZA MUNCHERS. Dee dee dee dee diddily.
Happy F the Tth, everybody. Don’t forget the real worse is way scarier and more forked up than anything in any horror movie. I’m pretty sure humanity was built on the site of an ancietn racist burial ground.
There is only Zuuuuoup.

I don’t know if you know this about me, but gosh darned I love Ghostbusters.
It’s been a long time since I last watched it, probably a decade. But I have watched it many times. I loved it when I was a kid. I think I was a little scared of it the first time I saw it, I remember that opening with the librarian ghost scaring me. And there was definitely stuff that went over my… head. But I loved it and had it on VHS and watched it many times.
And rewatching it today, Friday the 13th, was great. Just like Raiders Of The Lost Ark, it just holds up. It’s just so good. It just works, all of it. I wouldn’t change a thing. There’s just something about those old movies. The combination of nostalgia and the slower pace, the practical effects.. are they practical in Ghostbusters? Or is that.. a form of digital. But, not CGI is what I mean. You know if they made it today it would all be CGI and some of it would undoubtedly look more realistic, but it would also just be.. so CGI. It would move fast and it would all be different. The old movies just have to move in another way. The gargoyle dog things, you can see it’s stop-motion. But I still vastly prefer that to most modern CGI effects. If you made it today it wouldn’t be as good. Ahem. I haven’t watched the reboot. I don’t have a problem with an all female Ghostbusters cast, but I have a problem with them rebooting it and using the same title. Thankfully the reviews were so bad I don’t have to feel guilty about skipping it.
The whole cast of the original is just fantastic. But watching it again now I really appreciate Rick Moranis even more. I just love him in this. He’s so oddd and funny, annoying yet endearing. The gatekeeper and the keymaster, I just love it. There’s a couple of scenes where Moranis and Sigourney Weaver are out in the hallway and it just made me think how much I want a sitcom of those two living in the apartment building, like Seinfeld and Kramer.
I played the old Commodore 64 game Ghostbusters too, although I was bad at it. But I still recall outfitting the car and driving around and trying to catch ghosts. It’s one of the big C64 games.
Next up is Ghostbusters 2, which I have watched a lot less and barely remember. I know it’s considered considerably worse. I think I convincced myself that I liked it back in the day. We’ll see, but I’m looking forward to Afterlife.

There goes the path. I think Jesper is done with it. There are a few blocks left over, Jeanette said something about maybe putting them out right outside the goat house. We’ll see. I know Jesper was putting out sand too, hopefully the gaps won’t get too muddy. We’ll see how it all works when the weather gets wetter.

Here are the leftover pavement tiles. Jeanette may still take some or all of them and put them right outside the goat house. She did find an old pallet in one of the other animal houses. Brought it to the goat house. And asked me if I wanted to mess around with it. I’m glad I get to have some say and be heard and the chance to do things. I like finding stuff an apprropriating it for the goats. I put the new pallet under the tiles that Luna is standing on. To get some extra height to the few remaining tiles. Since Bella no longer seems to want to sit in the hay box, I left it turned upside down there. More stuff to jump around on.
